Loved this place, stayed here for a week with my family, we stayed in the pink octopus which the house was older but it had a nice rustic charm and a really nice updated walk-in shower, although it is older you can tell it is nicely maintained, the girls in the shop were friendly and always similing, also very helpful, we rented a boat for 3 of our 7 days one day that we had it booked for it rained all day and they had no problem letting us switch the day, we had lots of luck fishing here but mainly caught catfish several different types though and also we caught 2 sharks a bonnet head and a black tip. We will definitely be back here, I am going to attach photos of the house we hung out on the screen porch the most it was our favorite room read more

The store is fine but the service department, more to the point the service manager needs some help in customer service. I must have ruffled her feathers when I contradicted her on my tilt and trim seals. She said she would call me back. Since then I have waited almost a day then called and was put on hold for about 20 minutes and then disconnected. Since then I have called three more times and was told she was gone and would call me back or else she just would not answer the phone. I guess I should have used a different name when I called back????? read more

Loved our stay at Sea Hag cabins and marina. Trip got off to a rough start when we woke the first day to our boat 90% submerged in the marina water. Charlie the owner was exemplary in his quick to action help with the addition of his marina crew they helped us to right the boat and get it out if the water for an inspection. The rest of the trip was great they rented us a skiff at a discount ( I'm sure they felt sorry for us!) and the next three days we were off and scalloping. Had to weather a few storms but it was well worth it. Beautiful clear water and the scallops were plentiful. Our cabin (Mackerel) was small but clean and comfortable with updated bathrooms. The pool was cooled for a perfect much needed cool off at the end of the day. Met some great people at the pool and next door to us. See you next year Sea Hag! read more

The marina staff is amazing. Before we even know it, they're anticipating our needs and lending a hand. They're so friendly and helpful and go above and beyond. The marina is set up well and the bathroom is clean. The store has a lot of items and the staff is friendly. The hotel has nice rental and houses options and the pool is very clean and the kids had a great time. Really conveniently located and a great place to keep you boat overnight. read more

Rented 3 boats over 2 days and everything was perfect. The value was good, the boats were in great shape, the safety rundown was informative to those who weren't accustomed to boating, and it was convenient for us. Short on bait or tackle? The Sea Hag has you covered. I was also very impressed with their clothing collection- they had their own Sea Hag shirts that were VERY nice and looked great, they weren't the cheesy type you see a lot. I had such a beautiful day but mind if I take a moment to vent here on social media? I don't even know where to start. Sea Hag's owner is detrimental to his own business. I wonder if his employees know that he thinks of them as "uneducated, not very smart but hard working so give them a break". Can you believe that!!!?!? It just doesn't make sense that the page of boaters that dropped off AFTER us are already crossed off as done and picked up. I realize that my posting here won't make a difference in the way he runs his business or handles his customer service. What I do know is, I'm in a car load of people who had an awesome day, who waited from 1:45-7:30 very patiently and when we asked about our buckets we were perceived as rude, drunk and disrespectful. (Those of you that know us will need to pick up your chins...) Really!!!??! I also know that the $300 we spent there today on boat rental, fuel and tips (the dock staff was wonderful) will be the last money we ever spend at Sea Hag. On a final note, Bobby finally got the hang of scalloping, we did max out and a very nice dinner will be planned shortly. See ya Sea Hag, we won't be back. In response to Sea Hag's response.... It is amusing that you found my companions drunk. The answer to your question, "We're you drinking today?" Was honestly answered because we did have drinks on the water but that was at noon. A couple of beers with our lunch. We were not drunk at any point of the day. An hour and a half later we dropped our buckets at 1:30 and then proceeded to spend our wait while we putted up the river to look at real estate and to rinse off in fresh water. I find it very admirable that the locals are hard working and have an opportunity to have a summer job however INTEGRITY, HONESTY and RESPECT need not come from wealthy or educated people/families. They may have felt pressure due to the amazing amount of work before them but never were they harassed by us. Your dock helpers can attest to the fact that we waited all afternoon at the far end of the table area. We shared a bag of chips and zombied out on our phones due to the fact that we were exhausted from our day of swimming and waiting. Little chatter, certainly not disruptive and far from disrespectful. My integrity, respect and reputation amongst my Gainesville friends and community are enough to make me comfortable with my reiteration of the day and of my post here on Yelp. Obviously our perspectives of the afternoon are completely different and neither of us will be persuaded to believe the other. So let's just leave it at that. read more

Love this spot. Always stop by multiple times when visiting Steinhatchee. From souvenirs to fuel to bait & tackle to fishing licenses they have everything to succeed out on the water. The staff is awesome as well. Brett was a big help a few times as well as the boys fueling up on the docks all day. Mistakes happen its what you do to correct them that matters! Always had scalloping success with their boats and the beer is cold at the end if the trip at the bar! I was saddened to read Lisa G. post. We have been coming to the Sea Hag for 15 years. I could see she was on a tirade but it appeared to be about her scallops and the waiting time. The owner has no control over the speed of the shuckers and the customers having their scallops shucked are the ones who pay them. Therefore the more they shuck the more they are paid. Last year was a busy season and almost all shuckers were backed up for hours. On two evenings we were told they would not be ready until the following morning and we could pick them up frozen. This is a family run business by a christian family. They treat their employees with respect and dignity. Some of the summer time workers return year after year and others stay on full time after high school. Some of their employees live as far away as Mayo. Their daughter works in the marina store and their son is one of the top boat hands teaching new employees the ropes as well as a great fisherman as seen in many of the Chase and Fish photos. They offer bait and tackle, fishing licenses, snacks everything to enjoy a day on the Gulf. It is nice to have staff to fuel you up. They have more staff than all the marinas in the area combined. They offer boat storage and rental. There is everything there to make your day. Including service with a smile. Our boat has had issues every summer and they always fix them fast. Only once at the end of the season did the boat have a long stay. It turns out that my Yamaha engine is masquerading as a Mercury. As it turns out that model year Mercury bought a bunch of Yamaha engines and painted them black and slapped their label on them. It took a Mercury area rep. to help solve the problem. Charlie and Danielle have worked hard to bring many upgrades to the shacks to include decks, landscape, grills, outdoor chairs and a pool. I keep telling them they are no longer shacks and need to be called shanties. They can accommodate both large and small families. There is something for everyone. Lisa I hope you will look at the reviews and see the positives and come back to Steinhatchee and give scalloping and the Sea Hag another shot. Great place! Fun stay at their shacks! All of the staff was super friendly and it was so easy to have the boat right across the street. My only suggestions would be to upgrade the cleaning products in the shack or have someone turn down the shack in between nights if not providing better supplies and for the store to stay open a little later. Would have been able to enjoy some beers on the dock after 7. read more

Just back from another successful fishing trip. The women in the marina shared the special colors to fish with and we did not miss a bite. The boat ran great and in my opinion is a deal! Stayed in the pink octopus and found it clean and ready. I forgot two shirts behind the door that arrived at the house today. Top notch operation. After 5 trips we finally discovered the pool. Cool and clean and a awesome way to relax after a long day of reeling the fish in. We will be back! read more

we have been scalloping previously with River Haven and they were great, but were booked solid, and so we went with Sea Hag, because they had availability. We were not disappointed, and the boat was huge and the staff were well organized; very streamlined and efficient, which was great for the family. Plus, anything you forgot or don't have, and I mean anything, they have in the store; great setup for scalloping, from gear to food and drinks to bait; no complaints, and we will be coming back. read more

Happy to have a boat & trailer to maintain sanity through this Coronavirus! This was my JeepOverland Summit's first trip pulling our 20' Key West & the Hemi engine did great. We stayed Wed & Thurs night (all weekends of July are booked). "Tiny Tuna" is a hodge podge of a Bubba-esque cabin, decorated in cute teal, & blue w mermaid & pelican artwork. Has an authentic slam-perfect screen door AND resident Tabby cat with gorgeous light green eyes, who enjoys a saucer of milk. Going further S tomorrow for more scalloping (Boaters for Trump RULE this place!). Wed we only found 10 scallops but Thursday worked hard & scored 90! Lots of activity & energy. Nice pool with fresh water. The plumbing needs to all be replaced in this unit & you just have to accept different flooring in each room adds to the fish camp charm. Not thrilled w our Thurs night boat slip GG (way too close to the rocks & exposed facing W).
