    SD united gym

This gym might be great for kids but not for adults. I am a very active 50-year-old woman and my daughter is a very active 18 year old. We called to inquire about taking one of their adult gymnastics classes, we shared that it's been years since we've done any gymnastics and we were looking for a basic introduction course. We were recommended to take a Saturday afternoon class. We showed up, the teacher never asked our names or greeted us by name. She barely offered any instruction the entire 2 hours, basically stood around, sometimes practiced her own stuff, and said that it was an open class. We stood there with no idea what to do while we watched some people also be confused and others take off who knew what they were doing. When we tried to ask for help or instruction we were ignored and when asked again told what we could or couldn't do and offered very little assistance. This was such a disappointing and frustrating re-introduction to gymnastics. They need to change the class description on the website and / or change the teacher. We shared our disappointment and concerns with the woman who originally signed us up. She refuses to give us a refund or let us try a different class for free. It would have been quite simple and caring to let us try a different class with a different teacher, I'm not sure why they would not offer that. Overall: Negative experience. Very poor customer service. They clearly never cared about us enjoying ourselves or whether we were a happy customer. So had to share here to caution others.

So basically don't call because no one answers and you can do everything online. Also beginner classes are NOT Monday Wednesday.

Another business that's ran by children (or so it sounds.) The entire process to do a drop in class is an absolute nightmare. Their website specifically says for adult beginner classes (Monday Wednesday 8-10 which isn't even ON Monday/Wed for beginners,) to CALL THEM. My friend and I who lives all the way in Escondido wanted to go to the class tonight. We both called ALL DAY off and on (which is super frustrating,) and no one answered. I finally get a hold of them 7 -8 phone calls, one voicemail and an email later and this valley girl from hell who talks over you says "you can register online." Then why the **** does the website say CALL TO Pre register?! What a waste of time... Fix your website, answer your phone and hire someone with better customer service. Over it, we decided to just do yoga instead. Too much hassle.

If you are reading Victory for reviews you will want to move o the San Diego United Gymnasts since that is the current name. Now with that let's review! SDU just like VGA are geared towards gymnastics and currently they have only females in their gymnastics program. That being mentioned. That do have something for boys!! They beginning tumbling for boys is called Spider Boys (SB) and there is a Parkour class!! Our sone progressed through SB. He thoroughly enjoyed Parkour. SB has had several coaches but the current two have been consistent for the last few months! They are making a difference with the standardization of their learning the fundamentals and getting them on a program. There was a lot of restarts with each new coach. Glad they are there to help! As for Parkour I can't say enough at how great coach Nicolas is with the boys! I have see our sons dexterity and hand-eye coordination improve along with his confidence in his abilities to brachiate. Oh and they boys are all so positive and helpful to each other! They work on moves and have lots of fun! What more can you ask for? Bring the kids!!

    Good Job

This place is great...Whether you bring your child for exercise or to build skills, they will have a good time and come back to you out of breath and sweating with a smile on their face...The coaches are very knowledgeable and give each student their all...They have plenty of blocks and stations to accommodate the many classes... The "Freestyle Gymnastics" class is a twist on traditional gymnastics that takes elements from Tumbling- Parkour - Martial arts - as well as break dancing to teach students how to climb-up jump-over and freestyle with the equipment. THE ONLY negatives is they do not except students over 18...and the parent viewing area is shoved in a corner where you can only see half of the gym clearly, unless you stand against the wall by the bathrooms

When I asked to work in during rest periods, I was met with outright rudeness. Even when staff stepped in to explain the circuit guidelines, members pushed back. A gym is only as good as the culture it cultivates. Enforcing the features you sell -- and holding members to basic courtesy standards -- should be non-negotiable. So I decided to work with a personal trainer for a month, for a total of 8 one-hour sessions. Toya, spent a lot of time during our initial meeting gathering background information on my medical history and asking insightful questions that helped her formulate a plan. She focused on my limitations, balance concerns, posture, and strength. Instead of immediately turning to machines, she had me work on exercises aimed at improving activities of daily living such as getting up from a chair, carrying groceries, maintaining good balance, and what to do if I start to feel unsteady. Throughout our sessions, Toya closely monitored me, corrected my form, and inquired about how I was feeling that day, adjusting my workout accordingly. She stressed the importance of modifying an activity if it caused pain. Upon learning that I had trouble remembering exercises, she printed out and emailed me a list of activities with instructions on reps, weights, rests, etc. She explained the purpose of each exercise and guided me on how to progress as I gained strength. Toya also underscored the significance of stretching my muscles, especially at the end of each session, and demonstrated the proper techniques. I thoroughly enjoyed our sessions as Toya is personable and positive. As time passed, she highlighted my progress and has made a significant impact on my life.
