Everyone treated me with so much respect and worked with me so that I could have exactly what I wanted. I didn't feel like I was being a bother when I changed a few things a couple of times. They addressed me as "ma'am" and were so respectful and kind. The shop is immaculate and decorated in a lot of 1980s movie and music material. Brandon (Octavius) did my tattoo. We had great small talk while he was doing my tat. Personally, I love learning about my tattoo artist, and how they came to do what they do. The prices are very reasonable compared to other shops that I have been to. I appreciated that they took credit cards, because not many shops that I have been to do so. Then she was none too knowledgeable and took FOREVER to bring the jewelry or our change. If they can't handle some simple stuff like that... I know I will never step foot back into that shop. The doctors told me that I was very lucky the infection did not spread through my body. I went to have the piercing removed and they told me that they were the biggest nipple ring hoops that they have seen and worse... they used a very cheap metal. Not only was my body having an allergic reaction to the metal, it caused such a bad infection I had to go to the hospital. I even asked them what would cause this/ what I could do to help with the pain and the response I got was "I don't know." I loved this place, but I will not be returning. The atmosphere is very relaxed and John and Joe make you feel right at home. Their hygiene technics are second to none and will make you look at every tattoo parlor you visit after them with a different perspective. I had the pleasure of letting John put a half sleeve on me and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. He spend hours after work organizing my thoughts, incorporating my comments and putting together a piece that made sense and fit on my arm. He even worked me in in his down time to make sure I would get my piece done before I moved out of state John is a true artist and awesome human being. He will work with you, listen to what you have in mind for your tattoo and spend the time to make sure it is right before putting ink to skin. I am truly blessed to have had the chance to meet John and spend 19 hours with him putting his talent to work on my skin. It will be hard to find a tattoo parlor and artist that can live up to the expectations and standards that John has set for me now. Any tattoo artist who can hammer down all the necessary nuances of Hebrew on the twitching skin of one of my old friends gets props in my book. They've got a piercer on staff who seems to do good work, too, although she understandably struggled to healthily re-pierce my beloved's belly button (whoever did it before used a freaking earring - I kid you not). They've moved within the past two years into a new building slightly to the north of town - it's an odd, semi-removed location, but their reworking of the overall structure and interior of the place (it used to be a horse & tack store called The Saddlery, believe it or not, that was torched by its owner - oh, arson) has made it pretty nice. I really enjoyed the clean lines and openness of the inside, and the staff there (Joe included) are friendly and helpful. My one beef with the place is that it's quickly obvious, upon entry, that the staff and others smoke inside. For such a newer, well-put-together environment in an industry that focuses on high standards of cleanliness and sterilization, cigarette smoke clinging to everything (including your clothes when you leave after a mere half hour) is a downer. A surprisingly professional, quality tattoo shop in a town for whom "tattoo" is generally synonymous with a place called Crazy Ray's. No, I'm not kidding.
