I scheduled an appointment for 1:30 PM online with Diego. He wasn't there when I arrived, the person who was there wondered whether he was "coming to work." I heard her call him at home and asked him "are you coming to work?" He said he would be there in 10 minutes. 15 minutes and he had not arrived. Another client of his did arrive, he made the remark that they "had quite a night last night." I feel like I am lucky I got out of there before they started cutting my hair. I've seen Amos' has the ability to perform much higher quality and difficult hair designs than what I wanted.. Probably the worst hair cut I've ever gotten. I specifically called and asked if they had anyone with experience in men's long hairs cuts, they guaranteed anyone there can get the job done, obviously not. I can tell some stylist there know their stuff, but unfortunately I got the wrong one, completely butcher my hair! I ask her to leave it long enough to keep a pony tail. She chop that dang thang off! Very cool barbershop with very talented barbers. Isaac absolutely killed a textured pompadour in line with the rockabilly era reminiscent of the generation in which I grew up. A few months earlier, he was able to clean up my beard to perfection, and just recently, his comrade " Devin", was able to give me the perfect summer rendition of my beard I look for every year as the weather turns warmer. Great spot! I just took my three year old son in for a cut and unfortunately, he was less than cooperative, to put it mildly... Isaac was so patient with him and did a stellar job despite his wiggling and whining. I felt so badly that he was so difficult, but Isaac remained totally professional and didn't seem phased at all! We will definitely be coming back, but next time it won't be so close to afternoon nap time... Thanks, Isaac! This was my first time visiting Scuzi's barber shop in Grass Valley. This is what a real barber shop experience is supposed to be like! Finally!! Amos made me feel right at home, he is friendly and fun to talk to. We had a great chat while he was using his skills to and giving me a much needed haircut. It is rare nowadays to see a young business owner applying himself to provide a truly quality experience for his customers. Amos doesn't listen to your wants. I very clearly explained that I wanted some hair over the ears and that my hair is naturally curly so when cut shorter it "springs up" to be shorter than was intended. Also explained that I sometimes wear hearing aids and wanted some camouflage over my ears. What did he give me? Sidewalls. Either didn't listen to a word or just didn't care. The first haircut I got here was good. But on my second visit, I warned Amos that I had a precancerous lesion on the top of my ear, and to be careful there. Nonetheless, he scraped it off, I think with his comb. I'm not sure, but it seemed more intentional than careless. The guy is a bit of a jerk, so I wouldnt be surprised. My young teenage son had his hair cut here and loves the cut and shop owner. They treated him like a man - Hot steam towel to the neck upon completion. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone now that his best barber left to open his own shop. Only goes by appointments which can be very inconvenient for those needing a cut right away.
