We were recommended to try our Scrub-A-Pup by a friend with the same breed of dog and we're not disappointed! Not everybody can handle Aussies or their quirks in addition to their coat needs. We were in need of a full bathing service without cuts this time and for 2 dogs between 45 and 50 pounds we paid $80 each! Not bad at all given the last estimate we received was $100 more per dog. We took our pup here because a family friend takes her dog and has had countless positive experiences. Unfortunately, that was not the case for us. We explained we have a shy dog who is not comfortable with baths (she will stand there gently and still, but she is visibly uncomfortable). We used a mobile groomer for a long time and loved the experience, but their schedule had become very full and so we tried scrub a pup. After being assured they had someone who had experience with shyer dogs, we dropped off our pup to be bathed. And while she looked sparkly clean and lovely when we left, we started noting she was excessively licking her rear and was super uncomfortable. Over the course of the week, it worsened and we noticed an abscess on her rear, caused from them trying to express her anal glands (which we had NOT asked for). This caused a trip to the vet, which resulted in antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications for two weeks. While I am extremely grateful that she is okay, and that the establishment was very on top of it in reimbursing us for the vet bill, it is hard to imagine taking her back here. Such a summer as we know others who have had great experiences. Again, the management were so kind and we appreciated that they offered to cover the vet expenses before we asked, but unfortunately our first and only experience was not positive. read more

As a new dog owner I had no idea how expensive and how fast dog groomers could book up. I think I missed my second calling lol. Anyways, my pup needed her first haircut. Staff were super friendly and the space was clean. Dropping her off was quick and painless, especially with parking right outside their storefront. As for the haircut itself, because she's a poodle mix she had a lot of mats and had just had teeth removed so parts of her legs were shaved prior to the appointment... I knew they were up against a challenge. But they did a great job cleaning her up. She came out looking like a new dog! I took a star off because upon bringing her home, her left eye was super irritated and red. We ended up having to get medication to treat it, so it was a slight inconvenience having to do that afterwards but I hope it was a one-off incident. read more

This is my honest review as someone who has visited this establishment 3 different times and was referred by another person who uses this place. It is great for self-serve wash, it's very affordable, one price and you stay for as long as you want. This is great for fluffy large dogs like mine, it's cut our washing expenses by 2/3rds as we used to go to pet food express for the washes and that was timed. They provide shampoo, conditioner, bath scrub, hair brush, and a collar that can get wet so your dog doesn't escape. I would give the self-serve wash a 5/5! Now, while washing my dog I have experienced the employees here washing dogs for others. That's where the review here takes a turn. The bigger set dog washer, usually is wearing a bandana and grooming with headphones, left a dog fully wet and tied up and scream/crying for 15-25 minutes 2 of the 3 times we visited. She left a crying large Aussie looking dog in the tub soaking wet, and another bigger crying dog on the drying table, completely wet. The dogs were crying, whining, and sometimes barking. I felt so bad I went to the dogs both times and gave them some love, scratched their head and talked to them. I think she took a long bathroom or lunch break leaving the dogs soaking wet? I understand we all need to take breaks, but I don't think it's right to leave a dog wet and crying for so long, at some points it was actually shaking. And the fact that I saw this happen twice, most likely means this is a common practice. TLDR: The price is too good to pass up for self-was, but it's probably best to not have them do the wash for you as the dogs are left wet outside for extended periods of time. read more

As a business owner myself it amazes me that clients feel the need to jump on Yelp to post such negative comments rather than talking to the Owner about your issues. I been coming to Scrub a Pup for years now with my Bulldog and it's always a great experience. I don't Groom her there but use the self wash tubs. Employees are always super nice and always asking if I need anything else. Those that post 1 stars can go take their dog somewhere else if they don't like it here. Maddie is awesome and did an amazing job with our very anxious dog. He had gone over 3 months without a haircut and was quite matted. She was able to do most of the work while keeping him calm. It seemed to have helped that there weren't too many distractions to cause other anxiety. He started to get upset at the end, so we will need to continue to help him adjust. Shout out to all the staff here, very efficient. Came in with my two dogs on a Sunday afternoon to use their self-service bathing station. They showed me where the tub is, handed me four towels, two brushes, two bottles of shampoo, and one bottle for the eye. The nice staff walked me through the ins and out (sorry did not get her name), and in minutes, my big dog first, then the little one after. Really like the dog blower. It made drying quick. I also like that they have hooks where you can tie a leash, for us two dog owners. Overall, very easy, and no appointment neccessary. I highly recommend. PS- don't forget your reward card. Been coming here for almost 3 years and always pleased. We typically do the self wash and they always provide us with everything we'd need for a bath. I don't think they have a time limit like I've seen other places which is great! Gives you enough time to do a thorough wash AND dry. Never felt pressured to rush here. Staff has always been super friendly and helpful too. One member in particular (can't remember her name but she is younger and has purple hair right now) is super kind and is happy to help me trim my dogs nails. He is a mixed breed on the bigger side and can get reactive especially with his nails so I was always nervous he'd nip at someone or cause an accident to happen but she makes it a breeze. People here truly understand the types of dogs there are out there and that means a lot to someone whose dog can be reactive. I've had no incidents with my dog and other dogs or the staff. I'm sure this place closed due to the County Health Dept., as they do not clean each tub after each washing, and as a result, the tubs are filthy with doggy hair and grime everywhere. The staff was rude and wouldn't help with my puppy and when asked if they clean after each washing, they said they spray the tubs. Disgusting! I will never bring my dog here again. The first time I went was a decent experience. I rebooked and missed my appointment because I got COVID and was in the hospital because of respiratory emergency. I literally was in the ER and almost died. So when I received a missed appointment text from them I responded letting them know I was sorry but that I was in the hospital. I never received a response to this text letting them know what happened. Fast forward to today when I take my dog in. They text me to let me know she's ready (didn't complete all the services I had asked for, btw). They send you the invoice through text, so when I went to pay I saw they charged me a late fee ($44) for my last appointment. I was pretty upset since they didn't even mention this when I first came in and it was super sneaky. I called and let them know this was incorrect and that if texted after my missed appointment letting them know I had been hospitalized. The woman was INCREDIBLY rude. She said they had received the text (which they never responded to? Just ignored apparently). She then said "I guess I can waive it this time, but we lose out on money. Um, what?! I was literally in the ER with COVID and she had the nerve to make it seem like she was doing me a favor. When I came in she proceeded to raise her voice at me and be incredibly rude. I felt so uncomfortable and treated like a source of money and not a human. They practically threw my dog at me. It's clear they have ZERO ethics, and don't care about dogs or humans, just money. Incredibly unprofessional and disgusting. Will never be going back and will warn others never to go as well. Everything worked as expected, like the sprayer hose on the water so you can leave the water on, but not be wasting while you're scrubbing. I took my dog to get her nails clipped here based on the good reviews. The lady who clipped her nails over clipped and made her bleed. It was a traumatic experience for me and my doghter. We have been coming to Scrub-a-Pup for five years with our golden doodle. I had to do the "walk of shame" at first, because I didn't read the fine print on the doodle owner's manual, and had gone too long and allowed our precious pup to get too matted. The owner and staff were firm but gentle with me in explaining the errors of my ways. (he had to be shaved down completely as I had allowed so many matts to form in his undercoat). This was in the middle of winter, and I was so impressed that they called me and said they wouldn't release him to me if I didn't have a sweater for him. They cared that much about him. After that, I learned more and worked with the caring groomers there to "get my groom on". For every doodle owner, this is different. I personally like a short cut, and to keep it manageable for us we go on average every 6 weeks. Sarah, our groomer, has been amazing. A poodle owner herself, she knows how to deal with doodle hair, and she respects my requests to keep my dog "un-poodle" looking. We've played with various clipper lengths over the years and she's always amenable to my feedback. She alerts me to whenever my dog has a random flea and even once called to tell me that he was just a "little off". He had actually been at doggie day care earlier that day and was really just tired. But Sarah noticed. She's that in tune with my dog and knows his temperament. She called me and made arrangements for us to split the groom session up into two visits to accommodate him and keep him happy. I recommend Scrub-a-Pup and Sarah to all my friends. read more

Brought my minature schnauzer in for a full service grooming at 2:30pm. Got a call a little over half an hour later that my dog was ready for pick-up. I was surprised at how quickly they were and didn't expect it to be so soon. I picked up my dog and paid, but took a moment to inspect him when I got home. I'm not very satisfied with the cut as I find it a little sloppy. His fur is uneven in some areas, especially at the legs. I also requested that the fur in his ear be trimmed, and though there was trimming done it wasn't very clean cut. Neither was the fur in between his paw pads as there are still gifts of untrimmed fur here and there. read more

We've been taking our doodle puppy Palmer to scrub a pup for baths and he just had his first full groom, so it felt like time to leave a review! Making appointments has been really easy and I love that they have a text message reminder system. The staff are all so friendly and have provided really helpful feedback as we get our pup used to grooming! They all know his name already, which makes me feel really comfortable bringing him here. He's always so excited when we walk into the lobby and is quite happy when we pick him up. He just has his first full groom with Sarah and she did such an amazing job! She went through and asked us exactly what we wanted and was able to answer all of our questions.
