I found it to be better than a haunted house, cuz I was so enveloped with figuring out the clues that I would forget about the scares and I never knew when the scares would come. It was a multi room escape room and I would consider it a medium to hard level. Our game master was super friendly and helpful when we needed hints. I think we did a total of two hint through out the game and we managed to beat the clock and got out in time! The parking wasn't the best, it was all street parking with meters. When you get to the location it is a bit hard to find the front door because it is on the back side of the building up some stairs. But there is some signage to help you find the door if you get lost.

I wished we…read morecould've done the room by ourselves instead of being paired with strangers, but at least we made it out with less than a minute left! However, the Japanese Thriller barely felt on theme with the serial killer storyline other than the introduction video we received. I prefer escape rooms where I actually feel like I'm part of the story. This was a very different escape room than I have done before. While you always have to split up for escape rooms, this time we were forced to separate between multiple rooms so you had no idea how the other group was doing (this isn't great when you're forced to solve the room with strangers because you have no idea if they know what they're doing). It was definitely more chaotic than other escape rooms I've done. The rooms were small and they use locks for a lot of the puzzles, which isn't innovative. They also forgot to put back one of the pieces we needed to get the final combination, so we almost didn't make it out because we had to keep guessing. HOWEVER, the worst part of the entire experience was how RUDE the man was that was helping us on the walkie talkie. He would give us attitude every time we asked for a clue. Why give clues if you're going to rude when people use them?

Severin was a great game master, even if my group would rather shout at each other than solve the problem while I sit and wonder how I went wrong. This was the biggest game with up to 12 players but we only had 4 which could be paired with other. Well, we had the place to ourselves. The Escape Game is different than any I've been to because they allow and encourage the use of photos and filming during the game. You will see so many social media reels of this particular room. Afterwards, I realized, OMG the answers were clearly given out in the reels many times! We had so much fun. My favorite by far. Made us felt like a kid again and definitely had all of us contributing, studying and playing together. Such a clever game! Well thought out and as players, you just need to listen carefully starting w the very FIRST clue! We asked for help a few times. Sadly we didn't unlock the last lock on time but they graciously let us finish with a few minutes after the deadline. Parking at UTC is free thr first hour. Use GPS to take you directly to the parking lot. There's a ticket booth in front of the Escape room if you want to pay in advanced when you exit.

You can tell they genuinely want you to have a great time. The rooms themselves are incredibly creative and immersive, with puzzles that go far beyond the usual "open another lock" style. They're detailed, clever, and full of surprises. I've done 3 of the 5 rooms so far, and every single group I've gone with has had an absolute blast. Something that really matters to me is having a private room. It makes the entire experience so much more enjoyable and comfortable, whether you're going with family, friends, or coworkers. Some escape rooms try to maximize capacity by filling rooms with as many people as possible, and that often means I don't get a fair chance to participate in the puzzles (which can be frustrating). At Lara's Labyrinth, every room is completely private, so you're never paired with strangers, and your group can fully enjoy the experience together. Whether you're brand new to escape rooms or a seasoned pro, Lara's Labyrinth delivers a fun, memorable experience every time. Highly recommend!

We were a little confused with a couple of the puzzles, but appreciated the helpful clues from Nassir. Having seen the movie (Shawshank) was a bonus. Take you're reading glasses, you'll need them. The lighting in there played tricks on my eyes at times. It was just my husband and I in the room, but we made it out in time! :D Make sure to arrive ahead of time. Although there seemed to be a lot of street parking, we had to circle through a few times to find a spot (10:30ish on a Saturday). Then, when we were leaving, we got stuck in the elevator. Luckily, we made it to the 1st floor (they're on the 3rd) with the doors slightly opened. I pressed the alarm button to get someone's attention. A guy coming in the building pulled the door open for us to get out. :{ So, if you're physically able.......take the stairs.

A couple months ago, three friends and I did them back to back, starting with Black and White Cafe. It was a great way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon, and I definitely recommend starting with Black and White Cafe if you do that. It's a lot easier and a good warmup for Moriarty's Manor. Black and White Cafe is aesthetic, cozy, and clever. Moriarty's Manor, on the other hand, is the hardest escape room I've done so far. Our group of four made it out with just seven seconds to spare!! (We had two beginners who had each done 2-3 rooms and two intermediates who had each done 10-12 prior to that day.) The combo of puzzles was SO good, with lots of variety and opportunities for different skill sets to shine. I like that MindFox gives unlimited hints but that everyone in the group has to agree to receive a hint. I thought the gamemasters were super personable and helpful. It's difficult to review escape rooms because you don't want to give things away -- so just take my word for it and check this place out! (Just don't start with Moriarty's Manor if your group is all beginners; practice on some other rooms first.) They told us they're opening up a third room later this year, so my friends and I will definitely be back for that!

My group of friends and I planned a trip to San Diego and a escape room was on our list of things to do. Luckily, this location was able to accommodate our group of 14! We had one group do the clownatorium room and the other did the hotel. We did our escape room back in September at night around 8PM. Upon entering, it was a little confusing trying to figure out where the entrance was. We first went upstairs to the door which turned out to be an exit, and then to the main entrance on the bottom floor. We knocked on the door with no answer and we were confused, so my friend called them and turns out a group was still finishing. No biggie! I don't want to spoil the rooms, but we were amazed by the effects and the challenges you had to do. Everything was super fun. The owner of Nightwalker and the other two game masters, Griffin and our clown (I forgot his name unfortunately!) were amazing. You have unlimited clues in the form of riddles. They were even so kind to let us tour each others' escape room once everyone was finished! They showed us the cool nooks and crannies of the other room. They let us take our time, we finally left the building at around 11:30PM. A friendly reminder that the rooms are on the mature side, and the minimum age to book is 14 years old. Our clown made some hilarious NSFW jokes while we were scrambling around to find out clues for our room. I highly recommend this escape room to anyone that is visiting San Diego!
