So normally I wouldn't be up for something as cheesy/expensive as this but a day before we left for OC I found an online Entertainment coupon for a BOGO adult ticket and that sold me. The call was easy enough to set up a reservation time although since it was early June they were not doing cruises every hour as is listed on the website. I asked about 10am and was gently redirected to 11am and when we got there I could see why because it was a full boat. Once you get there it's not rocket science. Kids need to wear a life jacket, adults can if you want but it's not required and after a short safety spiel you're off. The trip starts over on the bay side of OC (I guess it would properly be Great Egg Harbor Bay) then you chop around the corner of the island by Great Egg Harbor Inlet then it's just go like hell for a fairly good distance south along the coast until somewhere in the 40th-50th street area (?) before stopping to turn around to go back. Now two things worth noting: They claim they see dolphins and I suppose I believe them but on our trip we did not and I'm not sure I buy into the idea the dolphins are going to hang anywhere near this type of boat with this amount of noise coming at/near/around them. I could be wrong but that's just my initial thought. The other Yelper who reviewed Stormin mentioned that they stopped to explain things along the way. With our boat, not so much. We got three stops of which one was to try and sell pictures of the OC Boardwalk area near Wonderland Pier and the other two stops dropped some knowledge on us that might have been useful if we were from Mongolia or Latvia but seeing as the majority of the people in the boat were from the Tri-State Area I think it might have fallen into the "duh" category when we're being told that Brigantine/Atlantic City is north of Ocean City when we're staring right at it. The other thing worth noting is that while you're blitzing along there is music which is played at a very loud level to be heard over the engines. It's worth noting the sketchy abilities of the Captain to make a decent mix tape. I'm not quite sure how ZZ Top's "La Grange" goes with something from the movie Frozen or that anything goes with that classic from Digital Underground "The Humpty Dance." If you go, go with proper expectations: More than likely you're not seeing a dolphin. This isn't a nature cruise so you're not going to learn anything. The cruise itself is fairly expensive at $36.00 per adult & $28.00 per child But, it is fun beyond belief to chop/splash/bounce/rip/whip along the OC coastline as right now there is no other boat in town where you can do this at so the unique factor is certainly there and it's probably worth doing as a one-time gimmick.

My family heads down the shore every year for the last 10 years, it is our tradition. My boys are at the ages of 14 & 16 and rarely like to do anything, so when we found this 3 years ago. We said let's try it out. First off the whole team is professional and courteous. Will answer any and all questions you have. My kids always ask now are we going on the Screamer. The ride is great. We love doing this and always make sure to book our reservations so we don't miss out. The captain is amazing he makes sure to go over certain areas that have history behind them. The first mate is always courteous always checking to make sure all are alright and takes photos for us when we are out on the water. When you check in at the reservation the young women there goes over everything and helps with providing life jackets if needed. The speed in both the calm water while in the bay and the waves in the ocean especially going against the wind. Makes it for a great ride. They definitely are always safety first, professional and courteous. We did our ride yesterday and my boys want to do it again. Thank you again to everyone at The Screamer, Ocean City, NJ. Our vacations are more fun because of you all.

Fun time. Even if you don't see Dolphins the kids will enjoy the speedboat. Captain was very personable.

On that factor alone, we decided to move our date to the next day when they were available. Captain Mike watched the weather forecast closely and said he would make the call the afternoon before our trip. Based on all the data and his experience, he felt it would be a good trip. We met Captain Mike and his 1st mate, Andrew at 7 AM and we headed out for Seabass. They treated my wife and I with a great deal of respect and great friendly conversations. The waves were a little closer together than forecasted. Which made for a very rough ride. We arrived at our fishing spot and drop the lines for a short bit. Mike closely monitored the radio and made the wise decision to pull the lines up and head in as the reports were that the winds and waves were coming in much sooner than predicted. We were able to see some humpback whales blowing, and even a US Coast Guard helicopter training Mission. We really enjoyed ourselves in spite of the waves and me "feeding the fish" a couple of times. When we returned to dock, Captain Mike was clearly disappointed and graciously offered to adjust our rate since we weren't out there the full time. Absolutely no doubt that we would book with them again in the future.

Not sure I could go out with anyone else in the area.

The crew does not communicate with the Captain effectively/safely either. I got permission to bring a drone onboard to film, and the idiot that I asked for permission did NOT TELL THE CREW ABOUT IT!!!! So when I signaled that I was going to fly (when the boat stopped to view dolphins), the crew member inside the control room that I signaled to, just acknowledged my motion, BUT DID NOT TELL THE CAPTAIN!!! So the boat started moving away while I was still in the air!!! I almost lost my drone and had to crash land it on the boat. It even nicked a girl's leg and give her a minor cut. That could have been quite serious and was 100% due to the complete lack of crew communication. A real moron crew member............ Also there were no life jackets on the upper level.

When you haven't had any days off in months though and your daily routine is getting to you and physically (mentally and emotionally not applicable here because there is alcohol for that), the idea of driving down to Wildwood with the possibility of swinging by AC, to be on a boat for 2-3 hours is pretty relaxing - dolphins or no dolphins. Getting a Groupon deal on this helped too, although these guys are not expensive to begin with - for two people, it's $35 on Groupon/$76 without. Although there were no whales, we actually did get to see a family of dolphins. Had we not gotten to see them, the tour itself would have been sufficient as well, as we got a pretty detailed tour of Cape May, its surroundings, and some interesting facts about the Jersey wetlands. Like I said - this may sound dull, but when you are on a boat away from work & worries - life is good. They have 3 cruises per day - 10:30, 1:30, and one in the evening. The afternoon cruise is a bit longer and features free hot dogs !!!!!!! OMGFJSDFLKJ1111!!!! With free afternoon hot dogs, a friendly crew, and an excuse to go down to AC - what more do you need?
