If you have steel, drive up on the scale, wait for the light to change, drive around, unload everything, drive back up onto the scale, wait for the light again, then pull all the way back around to the trailer. They'll meet you outside and coordinate payment! If you have brass, copper, etc, pull up to the ramada (right before the vehicle scale) and someone will be there to weigh what you have on a smaller scale. Then go to the trailer, coordinate payment. They are quick, simple, and always give a great value. One or two of the employees might come off a little rough. But they work in the Arizona heat. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt!

I was told yes, it's treated as aluminum, but to hold a minute and they'd check for sure. She came back and said yes, she'd checked and it was treated that way. When I got there, I was told that it would be "dirty" aluminum, since there was a piece of plastic at the very top of the ladder, which was bolted on. As a result, it was worth 15 cents/lb rather than 50 cents/lb. Had I been told that when I called, I would have spent 5 minutes unbolting the plastic. As it was, I got almost enough out of it to pay for the gas to get it there. So, just be aware that even if you call with a specific question about a specific item and get an answer, you might get a different answer when you actually get there.

Aluminum can recyclers, this is your place!…read more After collecting hundreds of empty soda cans over the past year, we needed somewhere to drop them off and hopefully make a couple bucks. Many "recycling center" websites looked sketchy or appeared closed for business. We even had a coupon to a place offering additional payment for cans, but couldn't find reviews or details about the business online. Finally, BIRC showed up in my Yelp search and seemed like the place to go. I drove up to the front of the facility, and followed the large signs to pull into the garage area. The setup is very straightforward and I was greeted quickly by technicians ready to help me measure my cans. The technician explained the process, showed me how the cans would be weighed, and provided me with a receipt. I took the receipt over to the cashier just a few steps away, and was out the door with cash in hand. Check out their website for all the different types of materials they recycle. You might be surprised what they accept. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience here.
