She supplied the sink and the faucet. Scott's supplied the basket strainer, the P-trap, and two plastic drain pipes connect the sink to the wall. They charged her over $1700.00 for this job which took just 4 hours . Replacement of a garbage disposal & quote on replacing a water heater. I would not use this company again. I was charged $200 for a "diagnostic fee" because of the time spent trying to overcharge my home owner insurance. I was bill $886 for garbage disposal and the fee. Think about that. Got fleeced on the third job we hired the owner for, having put trust in him after good experience with first two jobs. However, if you are looking for a plumber who charges about $400 per hour, then Scott's Pluming may be a good choice. The last job we had was a kitchen faucet installation. We simply called Scott's Plumbing and just asked them to get it done. We did not hide the fact that we didn't get other quotes. We ended up paying $800 for a straightforward install job. This included a line item of $396.12 for 2 angle stops, which as a standard practice is normally be included as part of faucet installation. (Apparently, this item was correctly included in the previous two job. As it happens, the previous two jobs were also installation of faucets, in bathrooms. Job-1: Installation of 1 faucet, total cost with tax = $269.52, Job-2: Installation of 3 faucets, total cost with tax = $626.89. Clearly, the angle stops labor was correctly included as part of the faucet installation on those two jobs, and not charged as a separate line item.) The new job probably took about 2 hours (and was similar in terms of time/effort as the previous two jobs), but was charged about 3 times of what would be a reasonable price. Bottom-line, we will obviously not hire Scott's in the future. We also learned a our lesson, and will not put our trust blindly in another business, and will likely verify that the cost of a job is reasonable each quote in the future. (Note: looking at a couple of other negative reviews on other websites, the response from the business is likely going to be along the lines of "we quoted upfront..." etc. However, this hides the fact that they were able to fleece us when we didn't were not paying attention.) read more

DO NOT use these guys for your plumbing needs, unless you want to get grifted. They quoted me ridiculous prices for the work that needed done. I needed an outside faucet replaced and angle stops replaced under a kitchen sink. The first part I had done last year with a different plumber and it cost half as much as what Scott's Plumbing quoted me. Then the quote for the angle stops under the kitchen sink was $3000! A total of $4000 quoted to have that work done. When I told them I wanted to shop around and compare prices, the person from Scott's plumbing said "Ok, let us know," then he left, but he came back 10 minutes later and charged me a $70 dispatch fee! Apparently he went to the truck, called his boss and said I wanted to shop around, and his boss told him to come collect the dispatch fee. $70 because they knew I would find a better price elsewhere. Looking at other plumbers in the area, such as J.C. Hurley Plumbing, and estimates are FREE! I should have looked around more and read more reviews, otherwise I would not have bothered with Scott's Plumbing, wasting my time or my money. Their prices ARE NOT competitive! Take the time and shop around because you'll save a ton of money if you go with just about anyone else. On the phone, Scott DID NOT mention this dispatch fee, and his website also does not mention a dispatch fee. The guy who showed up came back later to collect the fee. On top of that, every single other plumber that came out for an estimate provided a FREE ESTIMATE and the quotes were less than half of what Scott's plumbing quoted for us. For example, to replace the front faucet and bib and access through the basement, Scott's quoted in at $875, while Shaw quoted $368 and Raptor (who I hired to do the work) came in at $305. On top of that, the extensive work getting behind my cabinets that Scott's said needed to be done, didn't even need to be done! They're not even competent enough to give a real quote. They tried to scam me and they'll try to scam you too guys! DO NOT GO WITH SCOTT'S PLUMBING UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR WORK DONE BY AN INCOMETENT PLUMBER. read more

I chose Scott's Plumbing based on the rave reviews he received on YELP. There was only one negative review at the time which he refuted. I called him out to my house for a leak under the kitchen sink. He stated that he could not fix the leak without replacing the sink drain. That procedure cost me $195. I made a HUGE mistake not asking the price of a service call but his website says he is the cheapest plumber in the area. His call fee was $175 plus $20 for drain and install. He, then, "discovered" that I needed a new kitchen faucet. He made an appt. to return. He said he would buy a quality faucet for which me charged me around $400 plus the $175 service fee. Total was $585. He said anything you buy at Home Depot or Amazon was not the quality of what he provided. He spent a great deal of his time talking to my friend and I as he worked. When he said he was finished installing the faucet, he went to his truck to get my bill. That is when I noticed he had not installed the cover plate under the faucet to hide additional faucet holes that were cut into the sink when manufactured. He was shocked that he had made this mistake and worked VERY quickly to make the repairs. However, in his haste, he did not re-cut longer hoses that go to the HOT and COLD water. Longer hoses were needed because of the extra height on the faucet with cover plate. Instead he used the short hoses he originally cut..............and now HOT is COLD and COLD is HOT. I would NEVER hire this man again!! I don't think there was anything wrong with my old faucet that it needed to be replaced immediately. He did not leave any type of warranty for the faucet so I phoned him and it was like pulling teeth to get the faucet ID numbers from him. I, then, looked up that item on Amazon. The man was a liar above all else. I could get the SAME faucet from Amazon for the same price he charged. He had said he was giving me a "reduced price" because this faucet was worth so much more!! He had purchased it through a local plumbing supply. As I said, I had a friend here who heard his every word. I think all of his "rave reviews" were written by friends who never really had him do any work for them. For all the mistakes he made he should have, at least, apologized. Instead, he told me that I was lucky he hadn't already left my house when I discovered the cover plate missing because he would have had to charge me another service call to come back!! The plumbers are ok. Don't call the HVAC guy. He has a terrible attitude and will not listen to any advice because you are the dumb customer and he is the great hvac guy. I had a leak behind a wall in the condensate line. They said I needed an hvac guy. I pointed him to the location of the leak, then I had to leave. He checked my hvac and water heater and said the water heater is old needs to be replaced. That's it. I knew the water heater was old but I needed the leak behind the wall repaired. The next day I had to cut a hole in the wall. found the hole in the pvc condensate line and had to repair it myself. Replaced the water heater myself as i was planning to already. I am a single woman. I had a pipe that was spurting water close to the hose bib where a rubber hose had come loose. Pretty simple fix? I was charged a $295 diagnosis fee (not to be credited to any work done) and given an estimate of $1765.65 for the repair. I am not kidding. I am also not stupid. This guy - it was actually the owner, Scott - was trying to take advantage of me, a woman, and the situation. No one wants water spurting out of any pipe uncontrollably. We had a main-line leak in our house and garage. I called Scott's Plumbing because he had good reviews and I wanted to give my business to an independent small business. When Scott arrived he quickly assessed the situation and told me that in addition to the line repair, we also had major water damage in the wall and adjoining bedroom. He quoted me $1685 to repair the line, and then wanted me to sign up for water mitigation repairs for and additional $5700. With no explanation of just what was going to be done. He also explained to me we had 10 days before mold settled in and we had to decide quickly what we were going to do. At this point, I had no idea how long it had been leaking so the 10 mark didn't make any sense to me. I ended up having water mitigation completed by another company who charged me less than 1/4 of his price. Needless to say, Scott's pricing was WAY out of line. I paid him to repair my main-line and his employee did a good job. When your main-line is leaking- you don't have the time to get bids. I honestly feel taken advantage of. We've had Scott's Plumbing out to do two large projects and were very pleased to have the owner of the company completing the work. He stayed late and finished so that the remaining finish work could be done after a nasty water leak from frozen pipes required a total interior rebuild. He has been easy to communicate with and is always very responsive. I would definitely hire him again. I was tempted to replace my own tub & surround (home improvement shows make it look easy) but previous forays into plumbing showed me some things are best left to a professional. Turns out - this would have been a Nightmare for me to try alone: plumbing vent had to be rerouted, pipes also altered, measurements on drain etc are very precise and it was difficult for 2 professionals to get in place (translate: Impossible for me alone). Even if I got the tub done- imagine a leak springing after my amateur solder job- the whole thing would have to come out again to repair it - what does THAT cost?!? I had a leak in my laundry room from the ceiling. It was caused by the tub upstairs. I called Soctt's Plumbing. He had one of his guys come out. He looked at it, ended up getting some parts and replacing the tub spout. I was charged $500. I do not think this was fair. He had already done the work so there was really nothing I could do at this point. The leak got worse. I called someone else who actually came to fix the actual problem. It was a sharkbite part in the wall. He had to tear through the wall to find the issue. After tearing through the wall and replacing pipes and parts, He only charged me $200. I believe I was ripped off by Scott. I have emailed him and have received no response. Poor customer service. Give me my money back! read more

He had a lot of challenges, but handled each one to my satisfaction. Not only did he show up when he said he would, he also came on a moments notice to help with other unexpected jobs. The project price came in at the amount he quoted. Like with the last review, he even did a couple of small things for free along the way. His attention to detail and understanding of products makes me feel good about the hardware that was selected for each job. I'm very disappointed with Scott's. We had a clog in our kitchen sink. Scott's plumber came out (to his credit, a nice guy!) and he couldn't clear the clog with the snakes he had in the truck. Came back the next day with larger equipment and cleared it in minutes. They charged us $516.00. I called Scott, the owner, and asked him if he thought it was ethical and reasonable to charge that much for his plumber to be in our home for less than two hours. He was wishy-washy and didn't have an answer, finally saying "what do you want, for me to not charge you tax?" I mentioned that we have an old home and will need a reliable and trustworthy plumber for years to come and he responded "I'll take the tax off but we won't come back out for that price again." SO won't be using them again. Very false advertising to say they are affordable. I would be willing to pay $400 - which is a lot - but this was excessive. No thanks, Scott's plumbing, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more
