After reading several reviews of the trail, I feel the need to make a few corrections. I am an elderly disabled man riding a Terratrike Rover 8 speed recumbent trike. I live near the 25th & State trailhead. I started regularly using the trail a few weeks ago. So far, I have ridden from the trailhead as far as Tacoma Boys Market, as I continue riding farther each day. Here are my comments. First of all, though my rig weighs 40+ lbs., I find the trail to be no stress, with no serious hills. While the view isn't much, it is OK. The pavement is pretty good, with the exception of a few rough spots, most notably at the place it crosses Union Street. The only real negative is the messes, including broken glass on the trail, shopping carts and other garbage that is being left by homeless people. No one has approached me in other than a friendly way but I wish they would not leave broken glass and other obstructions on the trail. If anyone knows of a plan to clean up the mess, I would be pleased to volunteer as one of many. It is too muck for me to handle alone. read more
