There's a Harvey's-Swiss Chalet combo store that I like visiting. Across from these eateries is this Scotiabank branch. It's a couple of doors down from a Starbucks cafe that I also like to visit now and again. This Scotiabank branch does not have a drive-thru, similar to the Starbucks. This branch does have parking spots in front of it with the Scotiabank logo marking each spot. Each logo is attached to a post that allows folks with bikes to chain and lock them up. There are a couple of ABMs on the left when you enter the branch. The area is clean and the ABMs are available 24 hours a day. The branch is closed on Sundays. Its teller hours are similar to other Scotiabank branches. It's open from 9:30 am Monday through Saturday. It closes at 5 pm from Monday through Wednesday. It stays open an extra hour on Thursdays and Fridays. On Saturday, it closes at 4 pm. I have never needed any teller services. I tend to hit the ABM to either deposit or withdraw money. It's a nice branch to visit. I have never had any issues with the ABM or parking. (366)

For my 100th review, I decided to highlight a bank branch. We came here two years ago to inquire…read moreabout a mortgage, and found the bank officers to be very knowledgeable and helpful. First of all, they helped us obtain a very competitive rate, much better than the rates at other banks. Since I'm an American, it was much more work since I didn't have Canadian credit history, but they were willing to cover the cost of requesting a US credit report. They were also willing to reduce the holding period for US currency transferred in. The bankers that we worked with were always on top of things and were very accommodating. Not everything was smooth sailing, though. One time they lost a bank draft, but were very apologetic and expedited a replacement bank draft. As our mortgage renewal is coming up, Scotiabank was not able to give us as competitive a rate as before, so we'll have to move on. But the bank officer, again, was helpful in answering our questions about how to maximize our payments without penalty. He even asked us to notify him when there are 3 bi-weekly payments in a month because their mortgage payment systems don't properly handle more than 4 payments a month (we decided to start matching our payments). So kudos to the bank officers at this Scotiabank branch for being knowledgeable, customer-centric, and very accommodating. It truly changes the way I perceive banks. Note: All 5 major Canadian banks can be found at this plaza, so shop around!

This branch closes at 4 pm on Saturdays. I was met with a bunch of loud women talking at the top of their voices in the lobby. They were employees leaving for the day. I'm sure that they were thrilled to be leaving and ending their workday. However, they were extremely loud and borderline obnoxious. I just wanted to make an ATM transaction in peace and quiet. Nope, half of my time here was met with stressful shrieks that didn't even sound human. So weird. They left when I started to use one of two ATMs. I had no problem inserting my debit card and entering my PIN. When I selected to withdraw money from my chequing account, I like that it prompted me to specify bill denominations. Nice! I got my cash, which I rarely have on me. I was pleased. Other than the excessive noisy greeting, I got my transaction done at a clean RBC branch lobby. (90)

I am a huge fan of BMO and their stellar customer service. When I moved to Canada from the states,…read moreI quickly sifted through TD, RBC, and CIBC, giving each a chance to keep my business but finding their customer service appalling in every case. In the case of BMO, NOT ONE terrible service experience in the first 10 years, in branch or through telephone services. I kid you not. I don't even know how it can be as I am so particular about customer service (in true yelper fashion). So I thought I'd pay homage to one of my favourite BMO branches I've visited. Check out BMO @ 2QE for the following reasons: 1. Location- Right at yonge and queen, so accessible indoors through Queen station 2. Friendliness- A BMO staple but always notable at this branch. I've seen this BMO staff smile at the surliest customers. 3. Cooperation- The managers lend a hand to tellers when it gets busy and this makes customers feel they are a priority. 4. Resolution- If you ever have an issue, you can rest assured that problem resolution and customer satisfaction is important to BMO, including at this branch. I RECOMMEND: Seeing a manager if you have any particular banking needs that need a manager's touch. Maria is a gem. EXTRA TIP: There are 5 ATMs (two outside and three indoors at the top of the Queen) so don't get in line if your transaction can be done at a machine.

This Scotiabank branch is located at Malvern Town Centre. It faces Tapscott Road and is located by a mall entrance, with Hakka Pavillon on the other side of this entrance. I was heading out after having a leisurely lunch at the food court and passed by this branch. I hit an ABM to take out some cash from my Tangerine chequing account. Transactions are free at any Scotiabank. What's cool about this branch is that it has three ABMs. Many Scotiabank locations have two. It's nice to have the extra one. There was a lineup for teller services. I left at around 3 pm. On Saturdays, the branch closes at 4 pm. I like that this branch opens at 9:30 am every day, except for Sunday when it's closed. When the mall and this branch are closed for the day, there's a door outside that is unlocked till 11 pm every night. You can enter this door to use the ABM. The ABM side of this branch was clean. It had a garbage bin next to each ABM, which was a nice touch. I had no issues withdrawing money from the ABM that I used. It was great dropping by this branch. I'd return when I'm back in the area. I've been frequenting this branch for a couple of years now and they've helped me with near everything except a mortgage (but only because I can't actually afford to buy!). Someone greets you when you enter and can actually help you with simple requests, and there are generally enough tellers that you don't have to wait very long. I opened my first investment account at this branch and the staff were very friendly, patient and helpful. Overall, this branch has always met my expectations. The only thing is, is that in the last couple of years, the glass covering over the entrance is shattered twice, presumable due to falling objects, but this always makes me look up before walking in.
