I really like this place because they never judge. I've come here since day one of starting my own…read morebusiness and have always left feeling like i got all the answers to my questions without feeling like a dummy, which is pretty awesome because my questions are uuuuuusually pretty silly. I can't think of any specific ones, but the sort of silly where when you hear the answer you have an 'of course, i knew that' moment. The people here are so friendly and helpful that i sort of wonder if they don't put valium in their water cooler- and if that's the case, when are they hiring?! I went in the other week all like 'oh geeze guys, i can't find my business license number, umm, can you find out what it is for me?' and they totally did without any stern looks or telling me about organizing my messy file drawer. They actually printed me a document with my number on it and- bonus!- they gave me extra copies. I really appreciated that because it's like they knew i misplace things but didn't mind, they just wanted to help. Like a parent giving their slutty kid a condom instead of a lecture! In conclusion, this place is an indispensable resource for anyone starting their own business, growing their business and looking to learn things about how to be more efficient... But it's also great if you aren't efficient at all and just need someone to recover that important document you probably threw away last time you moved, yikes!!

Hidden in the east wing of Waterfront Station is the very handy BC Small Business Centre. Actually,…read morethere's a not-so-hidden counterpart on the main level, but I was at the third-level section of the center for some tax courses offered by Canada Revenue Agency. (By the way, if you are a small business owner -- which includes freelance writers -- these seminars are a huge help to understanding what you're supposed to be doing tax-wise. It has saved me handing over hundreds to an accountant this year.) They offer a lot of assistance for the "little guys", whether you're selling things on e-Bay or trying to slog your way through creating a business plan. What's a business plan you ask? Don't ask me. Learned if you are over 65 the rates are best with ICBC, I had no idea. My husband had passed away in September and I learned that I had to get new plates (I just learned the last ones, but it couldn't be help. So, paper work done, all went smoothly, and Blaine offered to come out and put the new plates on the car and I was very grateful for that. Then we went to the parking lot and i had already been back to the car once to get paperwork, we went up and down and round and round we could not find my car. Checked in with the concierge of the building, he was less than helpful and told me to go down to some street and walk back and go through every row of cars, my hip replacement was telling me NO, went back to BCAA and another extremely nice employee offered to come out and look with me and he would put on my new plates. He knew what was up, Blaine doesn't drive, so was not familiar with parking structure. I thought there were 3 levels of parking P0, P1,P2, but there were 5 levels, WHAT? They were L1, L2. Who knew? They all look pretty much the same. Luckily the extremely nice, patient employee from BCAA knew what's what. I am extremely grateful to the employees of BCAA , I could have been stranded there for hours.

I've never had to wait very long as they usually have a number of agents working at a time. They do have a nice waiting area and an accessible bathroom as well. The best part about BCAA though is the potential savings on car insurance. Depending on your driving record, they might be able to help you save a bunch. We're stuck with ICBC for basic, but I save about 40% on optional with BCAA. I honestly don't know why if you had a clean driving record you would choose to pay more for ICBC? Anyways, great stuff!!

I was at a place in my life where I really wanting to take charge of my finances; however my bad habits and thoughts around spending and saving money were acting as huge hurtle. Because of these bad habits my savings were non-existent, my credit cards were maxed out and I was in no place to invest so naturally a money coach fit. After speaking with Steve on the phone my wife and I decided to meet with Steve for a FREE consultation. Steve is very knowledgeable and personable and seemed like a great fit to work with. I'm not going to lie; at first I was very skeptical and hesitant to commit to a program with Steve as I was barely getting by and thoughts of paying someone to tell me how to save/spend my money seemed foreign. Steve told us not to worry that we wouldn't even notice his fees in the long run.(Yeah right!) Well I pleasantly surprised by this experience! Not only did we not notice his fees but he actually helped us to get on track. Within 6 months of working with Steve our lives have changed so much for the better. The stress we use to feel in regards to finances has been lifted greatly. We are on track to pay off all of our debt in a record amount of time, AND we actually have savings building up monthly. In 5 months of working with Steve we were able to pay off over $12,000 in debt - YES you read that right 12K! He is not by any means a magician that just makes money appear and fixes your finances; you have to want to make changes for the better. Much like losing weight; you can't just do it for a bit and hope for the best; you need to be prepared to change your life style and habits and commit to the program. My wife and I both agree that working with Steve was the best decision we made in 2017 and we are looking forward to walking the path that Steve has help to create. Debt Freedom is on now on the horizon were I have never seen it before. Give him a call and see what he can do for you!
