There are a lot of options for realtors, but Scot Nicol of Nicol Real Estate Group was my #1 choice for many reasons. This was my 1st time selling a home and Scot was very knowledgeable-he patiently explained the process to me, and kept me informed every step of the way. I was impressed with Scot's integrity and the way he treats his clients with that personal touch. If you are looking to buy/sell, I would highly recommend Scot Nicol and his team-he gets the job done and does his best for his clients! 1 read more

Working with Scot has been an absolute gift throughout our entire home buying and renovating process. From day one, he has gone far beyond what we ever expected from a real estate professional. What sets him apart is his rare ability to help us see not just a house, but what our home could be. And he has deep experience in making those transformations happen. He helped us visualize possibilities, potential, and the kind of life we could build in the space. His insight, creativity, and eye for transformation made the experience exciting instead of overwhelming. But even more impressive is that he has been with us every single step of the way, even after closing on the property, consistently present, proactive, and genuinely invested. Whether answering late night questions, coordinating details we didn't even know needed coordinating, or offering thoughtful guidance at each milestone, he has been a steady and enthusiastic partner in making our dream a reality. You can instantly tell he loves what he does--and that passion shows in his energy, his patience, and the way he celebrates each win right alongside you. It never felt like a transaction. It felt like having a trusted advocate who truly cares. If you're looking for someone who blends expertise, dedication, and genuine heart, Scot is the person you want by your side. We couldn't be more grateful for everything he's done and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. read more

Scot Nicol from Compass Real Estate has always gone the extra mile for us !! Scot helped us in the sale of our townhouse in Westchester back in 2021 and we were able to sell at a much higher price than expected. Recently in 2025, Scot helped me again with the sale of my condo in Torrance at a very good price. Because my condo was in a Co-Op it took more time, paperwork and hard work to sell. Thank you very much Scot for your hard work and dedication !! read more

Scot Nicol was an outstanding realtor for us and we've dealt with many throughout the past 15 years. We were in the market for a new house & he constantly informed us of any new properties that fit our specs, as they arose. He was so prompt & detailed with any question we asked and went above and beyond to help us find our new home! Scot made the entire process so simple but thorough, from the property search, to the bidding process, to the escrow and finally the closing! We will definitely be using Scot for all of our realty needs in the future!!! read more

Scot worked tirelessly with us for several years. When we moved out of El Segundo, he helped us rent our townhouse (to no benefit of him), secure tenants (in what was a tough market at that time) and help maintain the premises. When we moved back into the aforementioned townhouse - he was helpful, honest and open about our current single family home prospects. When we eventually found the house we loved, we felt very looked after and taken care of during the process. Scot, with his expertise, helped guide us to where we ultimately won the house through tough competition. In addition to that, he helped us rent our townhouse AGAIN, showing that money is not everything. Scot is a very personable, likable, trusted and a smart individual. I found working with him to be straightforward and honest. When we look to sell our townhouse there is no doubt who we will use and who we will suggest to friends if the are looking to buy in the south bay. read more

I simply CANNOT say enough good things about Scot and his team at Nicol Real Estate - they are nothing short of wonderful. Scot helped us look for a new and larger home in our small town of El Segundo for a few years (seriously, we started browsing pre-Covid). It's a small market with low turnover, so it look a very long time and a couple of failed offers/purchase agreements over the years, but at long last, we found a FANTASTIC home and moved a couple of months ago. Scot never gave up hope or stopped hunting for the perfect place for us, despite the very long journey. Throughout the purchase & closing process, he and his team made sure everything went smoothly and put as little onus on us as possible. He took it upon himself to smooth out any rough edges along the way so we could focus our attention on work, our kids, and ultimately, our move. We are absolutely life-long clients and recommend to anyone in the market for a realtor in the South Bay area. read more

Scott has helped not only my family, but my clients with our real estate needs. There's no one I trust more for handling South Bay real estate transactions. He makes selling and buying a frictionless and seamless experience! Thanks Scott for all your help! read more

Highly recommend Scot Nicol! He is exceptional and truly skilled at serving all home buying and selling needs. We are so glad that Scot served as both our listing and buying agent. He navigated us seamlessly through the entire process. Like many busy working parents of school aged children, we needed someone who could work around our schedules and available evenings & weekends, responsive by text or email, etc. He was all those things and more... he made it easy while patiently answering and anticipating any questions we had. Scot also helped to line up professional services needed along the way from the lender and even moving. He arranged decluttering service so that our home was quickly ready for photos and showing, and dropped off boxes/storage containers to help kickstart our packing. These extra steps were incredibly helpful given how hectic moving is. Scot also offered design and creative home improvement support for the home we purchased! He made some great recommendations on home layout, interior and exterior colors, etc and helped coordinate paint and flooring for a move-in ready experience. This was so convenient and allowed us to create more functional space for our family prior to moving in and enjoy new paint/ floors! We had been actively looking for a new home for an entire year, and Scot remained fully attentive and committed to helping us find the right home. He listened carefully to our needs/ wants and offered us tailored recommendations and feedback throughout. It truly was an enjoyable experience working with Scot, and the most stress-free home selling/ buying experience we've ever had. He is knowledgeable, hard working, trustworthy and service oriented. If we ever need a realtor again, we will enlist Scot Nicol again without a doubt! read more

We used Scot Nicol to purchase our home in El Segundo. Having Scot as our realtor was invaluable in finding the right home for us. He helped us during the months-long process to find and successfully purchase a home in El Segundo. Scot has the pulse of the El Segundo home market, including homes that are not listed. With Scot you will get a personal service that you will not get from other realtors. When you call or text Scot you speak with him and not with one of his assistants. We were lucky to have Scot in our home purchase. If we ever choose to move or sell our home we will 100% use Scot Nicol! read more

Scot was very professional, efficient and very tech-savvy in handling the sale of property. In addition to handling the sale, he also took good care of fixups and other unforeseen issues, not to mention all the tedious negations with the buyer and their agent. Would certainly contact him again if a need arises. read more

This is our 2nd home we've bought with Scot and the 1st we've sold! Scot's local knowledge of El Segundo is invaluable (he grew up here and knows every nook and cranny of every street). He's managed to get us 2 homes that truly are perfect for our asks Eg. my request has always been "treehouse vibes", he listens, and he knows how to find units with the best trees to really make the space feel so natural which was very important to me Scot listens. This is something that especially stood out to me this round of buying and selling with Scot. Everything from including us during his brainstorming of how we could go about negotiating, doing what's fair for all parties, and getting a great win-win-win deal. He listened to my unique requests such as playing a vinyl record (Nina Simone) throughout the entire open house weekend. Probably flipped the record 8 times. What a guy!!! Scot also gives a very personal experience, you get to work directly with him versus a team of people who you have to multi task with and redundantly over communicate your needs. Scot is easily available. He would meet me moments before his daughters soccer practice he's coach for to drop off moving boxes so I wouldn't have to buy any. He's gracious with his storage unit. His office is on Grand and his door is always open for a drop by if you want to shoot the s*%! Scot is a good guy, with excellent knowledge, is a good listener, gets the deal done in a respectable way, and is overall a joy to be around. We'll hire Scot all day everyday for our home buying needs and El Segundo knowledge base. read more

My wife and I worked with Scot buy a home and also sell our home starter home at the same time. It was a tricky situation trying to line up the purchase and sale at the same time. Scot's knowledge and expertise with this process was instrumental in getting us top dollar and favorable terms for the sale of our home and having both transactions close within a few days of each other. Scot is also incredibly patient, responsive, and overall, really cares about his clients get the right property for them (even if it does take 2+ years). Scot Nicol - Compass - Real Estate Agents Near Me - El Segundo, California

It was truly a pleasure working with Scot. He knows so much about El Segundo and real estate in general. He was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and we really valued and trusted his insight. read more

Oh... where to start. A few years ago, we realized that while we loved our current home, it just wasn't going to work for us long term. We knew that within the next 5 years, we'd need to expand. So - I put the "vibe" out there in El Segundo realtor world - letting a number of them know that we were casually looking for just the right property, we were patient and we knew what we wanted. We visited every open house in town, I think, over 2 years. We had a couple of potential houses that different realtors steered us to - but it wasn't until Scot texted me one day to tell me about a property that would be available soon that things started to click. He had really listened to my brief "wish-list" and he knew that this was the one. We toured it on a Sunday evening and made a verbal offer on the spot. The next day he drew up the paperwork, the sellers accepted, and the process was underway. During the sale itself, he was great to work with as he represented both the buyer and seller. We felt like he really supported us and tried to make it a win-win for both parties. We're super happy with our new home and recommend Scot highly. read more

Scot Nichol represented me in my recent search for and purchase of a townhome. He kept me updated on new properties and made sure I saw everything I liked. He was always available to answer questions. The most valuable help was the loan process. He was so knowledgeable and walked me through the confusing paperwork. He is also a very nice person. I would definitely recommend him. read more

Our real estate transaction was not easy or straightforward. The couple buying our house needed to sell their house, buy our house and we needed to buy our next house all within a very tight deadline. Not only did Scot pull it off, he rocked it!! He was able to manage all three families and their needs without breaking a sweat. He stayed focused on getting each family into their dream home. He talked me off of a ledge several times. If not for him, I know we would not be in our dream home. I have bought 4 other homes with different real estate agents. I know that I have found my 'go-to guy' in Scot. He worked tirelessly and really cared about our wellbeing throughout the whole process. I really can not explain how pleased I was and am throughout the whole process. I wholeheartedly recommend Scot for all of your real estate needs. read more

I have dealt with a lot of realtors both buying and selling homes and Scot is by far the best. Scot truly cares about his clients and making sure they are happy and get the best deal possible. He was never pushy and always proactive. Furthermore, he possesses so many intangibles that are unique and valuable. For example, Scott has always lived in El Segundo and so he is really helpful about pros / cons of location. As someone that is going to do a major remodel of the house we bought, his vast experience with similar situations and referrals to architects, builders, etc. was really helpful. Thanks for everything, Scot! read more

Scot sold our townhome and found our dream home, simultaneously, amid a pandemic, and none of that would have happened without him. When he sold our townhouse before we found the next home, he negotiated terms into the deal, including an optional rent back if we needed it, to make sure we'd have ample buffer time to find and close on the new house.  When we had nerves, he calmed them.  And he never once asked or tried to convince us to do things differently, to drop the sale price, to come up with more money for purchase, to make more showings available when we were uncomfortable doing so re COVID concerns.  He supported every one of our wishes, and he made things happen that we didn't even know were possible.  He's aggressive, but not pushy, and he's kind and creative.  He is exactly what we didn't even know we needed. A few other notes- On the house sale: we were obsessed with everything about our townhome, and so was Scot, and there was so much comfort in knowing our agent was our biggest supporter.  Also, we felt his personality, lack of pushiness, and confidence in our home, was in line with us as the sellers, and we were proud to have him be our representative.  On the house purchase: little did we know that in addition to getting an agent, we were also getting an [unofficial?] designer, contractor, child proof safety expert, landscaper, you name it.  You know how normally your agents are superfluous and kinda just hang out while you look at the place? Not Scot. I actually didn't want to see places without him, because I needed his eye on everything.  He makes it happen. From the search, to seeing hidden potential, to negotiating a deal under asking in the crazy hyped over asking market, to difficult terms of repairs, you name it.   Quite literally, he made our dreams happen. read more

Scot helped us sell our townhouse and purchase our house (off-market sale) in under 30 days. He kept his cool and he was able to dodge a couple hurdles (home inspection request and first offer falling through). We were very pleased with the process. read more

Scot and Alicia were awesome to work with. Scot listened to what we were looking for and found us an amazing house in El Segundo. He is super knowledgable about the El Segundo neighborhood having gown up in the area. He was also our listing agent and was able to help us sell our previous condo in Santa Monica quickly and at a great price. On both sides he made the process go smoothly and with as little stress as possible. Whenever an issue did come up he used his team of vetted partners like electricians and plumbers to take care of it, and they were also awesome to work with. If you want to find a house right now, go with the other agents, if you want to find the right house, go with Scot. read more

We used Scot to sell our home in Hawthorne and purchase a new home in El Segundo this year. He is extremely knowledgeable, has great judgement, is trustworthy, hard working, honest and communicative. Highly recommend you use Scot for your next real estate transaction! read more

I recently worked with Scot Nichol and his realtor, Nicole Reis, in Palos Verdes Estates. Both are top notch professionals. I was impressed with the breadth and depth of expertise and the genuine caring and attention to detail. They were professional, timely and personable. All important qualities in real estate. Nicole was especially helpful in recommending vendors for the prep work such as flooring, painting, and landscaping. She even personally cleared fallen limbs with a windstorm from the front! Scot was particularly helpful in guiding us in looking at options in listing and selling the house. This was especially important as I live out of the area and was selling my parents' home. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Scot and his team are the best around. My husband and I went through three realtors before we landed on Scott. My husband and I knew immediately that Scot was a good fit. Scot and his team are professional, courteous and absolutely on top of the game. Everything went through in a timely manner and now my husband and I are in our dream home. In the beginning, my husband and I felt lost as this was our first homebuying experience. We met with a couple other realtors that were not up to par. Finally, we found Scot and all started falling into place. A month and a half later we landed our dream home. Big thanks to Scot and his team for having their finger on the pulse. read more

I have only praise for Scot. He helped us with buying and selling our house in December. What I learned is that he truly goes over and beyond what realtors typically do. He is very communicative, responding to phone calls, texts, and emails right away. He took our concerns (no matter how small) seriously. He wants his clients to be happy and tries to make the process easier, because it can be quite complicated. He made our experience that much easier and smoother. Our buyers wanted the holes in the walls patched up (after we had already moved out) and he sent over his painter to paint them. A month after we had bought our house he emailed us to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. I could go on. He is not just trying to sell or buy a house but also working very hard to make sure his clients are well taken care of. I highly recommend him! read more

When the time came to buy our very first home, there was only one person we trusted to do the job: Scot Nicol. Not only does Scot know the South Bay real estate market better than anyone, but he truly cares about placing his clients into the perfect home. At our first meeting, Scot sat us down, asked about our short term and long term goals, assessed our wants and needs, and walked us through what we could expect out of the home buying process. From our very first meeting through close, Scot turned a normally stressful and overwhelming process into a painless and fun experience. We ended up finding our dream starter home, for under budget, in a great neighborhood, that checked all of our boxes. There is no question that the next time we look to buy (or sell) a home, we will be calling Scot to do the job! read more

Scot is the man! He completed a very complex transaction while keeping multiple families happy, including ours. He had enough foresight and experience to understand the issues we would be anxious about and explained what he thought was reasonable. We would definitely use him again! read more

We worked with Scot when purchasing our first home and had an exceptional experience! Originally in our search, we worked with another Realtor and although she was nice, she was not very knowledgeable about the area we were looking to buy in; she also did not have the connections with the local agents we were looking. We started our search again with these objectives in mind and were so pleased to have found Scot! Scot did a wonderful job of managing my many questions about neighborhoods, negotiating and what is most important to be looking for in a first home - i.e. space to grow, potential to add on, school, etc. He also had a great handle on what was developing locally. Giving my husband the piece of mind he was looking for in our first big, long-term investment. After we purchased the house, Scot helped us find our Architect to do a small addition and our General Contract! Both of which have been amazing to work with! I would recommend Scot to anyone looking for a intentional and knowledgeable real estate agent! And also - he's just a great guy! read more

SCOT IS AMAZING and I am so happy that he was referred to us by friends that used him to purchase their home in El Segundo. Scot was an absolute pleasure to work with and I highly recommend using him as an agent. We were coming from out of town and heavily relied on Scot to be onsite for walk-throughs, pictures, videos, Facetime etc. He was prompt, responsive (calls/texts), thoughtful, detail-oriented, extremely knowledgeable and ensured we knew about all properties as they came to market. As a first time home buyer, he made the experience as smooth as possible and spent plenty of time talking through the process. Scot is born and raised in the South Bay and his deep knowledge of the neighborhoods and pockets was extremely helpful in the home buying process. I highly recommend using Scot + team and will not hesitate to work with him again in the future. read more

When my husband and I decided it was time to sell our home of 11 years and look for our dream home we saw a little house on a corner with Scots sign out front. I called to inquire about the home and we talked for 45 minutes about the property that we were thinking of selling, and the little house on the corner. At the time it seemed that the two bed, two bath house was not right for our family of four. A few days later we received a hand written note from Scot offering his help with anything we needed in the process, and inviting us to come say 'hi' at the open house. We were so touched by Scots note and the unconditional offer of help we had to stop by and say hello. We came by the house on the corner and fell in love with it. Scot guided us through the process to purchase our dream home and we couldn't be happier. He helped us sell and buy and managed both deals wonderfully. It is a stressful process that Scot made accessible and pretty painless. What is really wonderful about Scot is that even once our deal was over Scot is still always available to answer questions, or to chat when we run into each other around town. Scot didn't just sell our home, he became a friend who helped our family move into our dream home. We couldn't have done it without him and we couldn't be more grateful! read more

My wife and I had never purchased a home before. We had no idea what we were getting into, no idea what things we needed to do or, generally, how to set ourselves up for success. By happenstance, I work with a good friend of Scot's and my coworker said that I should check out Scot's services in helping us find our first home. This is, by far, the best decision that I have made throughout my home-buying process. If you have never purchased a home, the NUMBER ONE most important thing is to have someone with experience by your side that is willing to fight for your interests and be honest with you at all times. Scot exemplifies these traits perfectly. I cannot even count the number of times that Scot's experience was able to help us make the right decision at a pivotal moment in our efforts to buy a home. Further, Scot is honest even if that honesty will cost him a sale in the end. My wife and I liked the first home that we looked at and Scot could have made a lot of commission on that home, but he looked over the house with the detail of an inspector, pointed out some things that he didn't like, and said that we should move on. At that moment, when Scot chose to put our interests ahead of his, I knew that I could trust him. My wife and I are now the proud owners of our first house, and we could not be happier with the process and the work that Scot did for us. From start to finish, the process was as stress-free as it could possibly be when buying a house, and I am sure that we saved thousands of dollars thanks to Scot's expertise and connections within the industry. I cannot recommend his services highly enough. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Scot! He helped my husband and I sell our first home in Hawthorne and buy our dream home in El Segundo - and got us the best price possible for both! He is an excellent negotiator and we always trusted his opinion on what to do. He was never pushy, but also very honest. His exact words were that he wanted to make sure we bought a home that we would be able to enjoy for years and years to come and not one that we would have to sell in 3-5 years, just so he could get the business again. On top of that, he is extremely knowledgable on the South Bay area (he knows everyone in El Segundo!), and spending time with him felt more like hanging out with a friend. Lucky for him we bought a house on the same street as him :) He also has the BEST renovation tips.
