We had a great experience with Bill Ruane and his team. I stumbled across a home I liked a couple of months back. Bill toured me around and the place had been sold by that evening. A few days later Bill called about another opportunity that was above our budget. He got the price down and wrapped it up for us. The seller had (allegedly) hidden a broken kitchen tile during inspection and Bill was both their and our realtor. In lieu of telling them to pay for it, he paid for the repair himself. I thought that was above and beyond. It is true that you don't deal directly with Bill very often. We've been meaning to share our home buying experience with Bill for several months now, but haven't seemed to have the time with moving into our new home and exploring our lovely town. My husband and I bought our very first home in June 2018 in El Segundo with the help of Bill Ruane. We were ready to buy a home in the south bay and were referred to Bill Ruane. He gave us a list of homes and told us to "drive by" and let us know if we were interested in any. In the process, we stopped by an open house and liked it. Being in sales ourselves, we decided to be "loyal" and asked Bill Ruane to help us make an offer...that was our mistake. He wrote the offer for us, met us at his office, handed us the offer, and told us to take it home, read and sign it, and return it to his office. Really? He didn't have or take the time to go over it with us. We never saw or talked to him again after we dropped off the signed offer. Only his "assistants" returned our calls and the sellers got so disgusted with the difficulty their agent had in communications that it made it quite uncomfortable. The sellers' agent communicated wonderfully with us and when we ever buy/sell again, we will not go through Bill Ruane.
