What a house of wonder! Chase really isn't kidding when he says it sells everything, it really does…read moresell pretty much everything you might need for your home. From cleaning products, kitchen items, DIY bits and bobs, cheap snacks, cards and so much more - they've got it covered. If you're a keen shopper/browser it's a veritable treasure chest to explore. My particular favourite is the upstairs section. Here's where the items get slightly less bargainous and become a little higher end... They've beds, lamps and all other kinds of home furnishings in a range of styles. Faux-antique right through to the more modern sleek look. I bought an awesome 'telephone box' lamp for my room at home, which is so kitsch and delightful and only set me back £15. (I can imagine it costing a ton more in a vintage shop!) My Mum was particularly overjoyed with a red painted vase that she picked up as well, of which they had many different shades! So, there's plenty to get excited about, and not too pricey as well. However, all that glitters is not gold. I did come away having purchased a few oil reed scent dispensers (the pots of oils with the wooden reeds) and they simply don't work at all. They were only a pound each, but I can see why they were so cheap as they give off no scent at all! Even so, I'm pleased as punch with my lamp so that more than makes up for it!

It was the first time I'd been in a shop which I cannot categorize by what it sells, IT SELLS EVERYTHING !! From bleach to crisps, rugs to xbox games, they have almost everything under one roof. The only thing I can say lets it down is a lack of electrical goods like TV's but if you're looking for a pack of brass tacks and a birthday card for auntie Mabel this is a good place to start........ and if you're feeling tired you can nip upstairs and pretend you're testing a bed out :)

I saw it as I walking by and gravity went from underneath me, I got all bouncy in my step and bounded in - eager to forage for some vintage delights. Bargain vintage delights. In Harrogate? This is new. I didn't find bargain vintage delights. Rather expensive vintage delights. Very expensive vintage delights. You want £28 for a set of old cups? Oh right, I see. You're really vintage. Oooh. Oooooh. A new oooooh. You've got copies of The Face. I was never a cool enough early teen to be into The Face. I wish the face still existed. Oooooh. There's a copy here with The Strokes on the front. You want a fiver for it? Not a quid? Ah. Right. This place knows it has novelty value in Harrogate. And while it might spout about being an independent collective of vintage 'retailers', what would be a very enjoyable haberdashery of all nice, cute old things comes off feeling a bit too retail-based. We'll see how this one pans out.

The interesting bits you used to find in charity shops find a home here and the place does well. What's more the really knowledgeable guy who runs it is a great to spend some time with as he comes across a great deal more than can fit onto this Tardis-like shop. It's a wonderful place to browse in, but, as another reviewer said, don't expect charity shop prices as a lot of this stuff is now quite hard to find, and is priced accordingly.

But recently when strolling past I happened to notice that had some Christmas wrapping paper in the window. Christmas was getting closer and closer and I always panic that I haven't got enough so went in to take a closer look, in all honesty expecting some thin, 'cheap' paper, how wrong I was! the paper was Lovely, the sort of quality you would expect from a reputable store such as m&s. I ended up buying reems and reems of the stuff. They also had some lovely gift ideas, and had I not already done my xmas shopping, I would've found lots of useful bargains here. All in all.. I was quite, quite impressed!

It does vary on the day and sometimes I haven't bought anything and another day have staggered out with bags of stuff .It is ex-catalogue stuff and now and again they have a sale and sell stuff off really cheaply ,i have had trousers for 62p and skirts and tops for silly prices.I have a much admired padded jacket which I bought for £2.49.It was a size 28 and I altered it to an 18 but it was well worth the effort. They sell some furniture and household items. They get televisions dvd players and a host of other electrical stuff. They have some toys and there are some god bargains in footwear. The only problem is that you can get hooked and it is hard to resist things that you dont need when they are really cheap.

I definitely need the bag to carry the heavy soda. So I pay a total of 2.70 i come to the counter to get my bag and she says she has no .29 bags. she says I can get the £2bags. I say ok I think to myself I'll put the large drink under my left arm and the peanuts in my large jacket pocket. i just have to get my 0.20 back. the lady to my right who was being Checked out by the counter person had a lot of items. So I had to wait for a long time. her bill came to £56 pounds. All this waiting with my heavy bags tired me and I decided to just go without the 0.20 as I start to move I notice its physically uncomfortable for me to carry all of my items because now I am tired and walking a few minutes with these items is going to be terrible m. The weather is a bit hot so it's not good. I realised I could not take them so I just said just give me my money back and the lady called a guy to refund me the money and the guy who seens to be working as se unity as well tells me I cannot refund the money for food. I said I have not even taken the stuff outside the store. He said when it is scanned it is considered purchased and there is no refund. come tomorrow and talk to the manager. I repeated the phrase I have not taken the stuff out the door yet. But to not avail. i said I can't take the stuff with me because you have no bags, and I can't physically carry them by hand either because I've been waiting for 19 minutes waiting for 0.20 so they have £2.70 of mine and I said fine I'll leave and give a review online. bad policy for not having enough bags for me to take my purchases home. If you run out of bags make a sign stating you are out of bags. this way I dont waste my TIME ENERGY & MONEY £2.70 When you know people will be purchasing bags which you do not have and so you have to give them the 0.20 back, have some 0,20 nearby outside the register to hand to customers and don't make them wait for next customer 's purchase to finish just to be able to get out 0.20 to give me 0.20 I was so appalled by the lack of this ridiculous way of handling things , essentially lack of customer service that I declared, I am never shopping here again. And I mean it.

Every branch is always a shambles, probably because when everything's a pound people have less respect for the products because they know they're so cheap. This is not a particularly big branch so is maybe more messy than most. They cram everything in and the aisles are small so avoid if you have claustrophobia. Tips: come here for branded toiletries - they have some things which you'd pay more for in Boots or Superdrug or the supermarket. Also, toilet paper - they do 6 packs for £1, which is cheaper than most other places. Obviously this is after you've decided that you won't lose all of your pride and dignity by shopping in Poundland. Also a good place to pick up small gifts, stocking filler type things, like gadgets, sweets and toys.
