What's most revealing about Pudsey is that despite being one of the slightly larger towns, and I suppose middle sized compared to most, in Leeds it really only seems to have independent shops when it comes to fashion. This is a really nice element to Pudsey, I much prefer a rootsy array of small businesses to the big brands, but here is where it can also fail me. Sadly enough of the two ladies' wear shops in Otley, this being the second one I found, neither had anything much that I particularly liked. Don't get me wrong, the items in Lady Grande are lovely, but not to my taste. Lady Grande has plenty of sparkle and vivacity, just not in my direction. There were some lovely chunky funky necklaces, huge 80s style brooches, beaded purses, animal print clothing (zebra, leopard etc), huge heart shaped pendent necklaces, neck scarves, dresses - literally tons of lovely clothing - it's just a shame that I didn't find anything to suit me. Sure enough though, everything in there seemed to be at a bargainous price, so not all is lost!

Its a family run store and…read moreit stocks all the usual corner store items like Beer, Wine, sweets, crisps etc. They stock other items such as all the daily newspapers, large selection of magazines, greetings cards and gifts. They also have the best penny sweet selection around. Pink Mice, White chocloate fish and chips, strawberry chews, jazzies The staff are all really lovely and friendly. Always ask how you are. Being one of a kind in Pudsey, which does have…read morea lot of pretty average shops, this one stands out like a beautifully manicured sore thumb from the rest of the businesses around town. When you go inside the immediate thing to strike you has to be the visual management - truly their displays are a careful work of art. The second thing to stand out is the product. They have some marvellous items for sale here. All of the items come under the 'beauty' label, with delicious items such as Rose&Co. bath products, organic soaps (the jasmine scented one was just beautiful!), sweetly scented candles and more. As well as those kinds of items Chic Boutique had a number of beautiful items that would make anyone's home look like a stylish boudoir of old. Their homeware items were fabulous and really, really well priced too.With beautiful vases, curtains, candle holders, blinds and such it's difficult to imagine where you might start. I, however, would start with the awesomely vintage style clock. For £55 I really might go back to Pudsey for just that. Maybe on pay day! A really lovely place to visit, take a look!

B&M seems to have filled the void that Woolworths left behind and, although I'm not sad to see…read moreWoolies go, I'm not exactly enthusiastic to see B&M arrive. I don't mean to be mean but I'm just non-plussed when it comes to this kind of store. In fairness, B&M is much more of a Wilko's-a-like than a Woolies. Wandering in I must admit I was taken aback at how busy it was for a school day - there were people all over the place grabbing bargains and queueing for dear life. It felt like I was the only one not in on the secret - was the world ending? No. It's just the people of Pudsey love the B&M goodness. At rightly so, after all, one can buy some seriously cheap cushions, cushion covers, throws, crisps, snacks, canned goods, duvet sets, prints, rugs, wool, sweets and much, much more. They are also selling a faux fur blanket that, I SWEAR, is the softest most AMAZING feeling thing I have ever touched. Really, it was beautiful! For bargains and households, this place is virtually all encompassing!

I'm a big fan of B&M bargains bot surprising really as I am a bit of a bargain hunter so this place…read moreis perfect for me. It stocks a wide range of goods with everything from food and drink, baby and kids clothes, household products, toys and much much more. I often pop in for nothing in particular and come away with a basket it full of goods. Stock turn over is fast so if you see something grab it while you can or you might miss out. This has happened to me in the past when I waited to buy things. They sell big names toys at reasonable prices my son got a fab powerrangers helmet just before christmas, they also seem to stock lots of Ben 10 items which are very popular. They have big names in baby products like Heniz food and simple wipes. Great cheapy store a bit like the pound shops and home bargains
