So, we drove in the opposite direction of where we were heading to visit this place. When we arrived we thought it strange that there were no cars, but headed to the door anyway. The sign on the door said "closed". We then checked the information again on maps and it did say it was open an half hour before we arrived, but no one was there, it was dark inside and the sign said "closed".

The Restaurant is licensed and they will cater for functions. It has a really relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The Pancakes are delicious, they have to be tried to be believed, the menu is huge, you can have any kind of combination on your pancake and you can watch them being cooked which is a really nice touch. They do daily specials as well so it's not just pancakes, the specials are great home cooked meals and some delicious puddings. It's set in the grounds of Conwy Water Gardens so you look out onto the lake while you're eating, its a really peaceful place, it's lovely.

And so the prospect of a French buckwheat galete - a fancy word for a crepe (itself merely a fancy word for a pancake) - had me drooling on my shoes the second I laid eyes on Mojo's, a funky looking little bakery/creperie on what passes for Rhosneigr's main thoroughfare. A look at the menu only served to make the salivations greater. Smoked salmon, spuds, cream sauce and spinach? Hell to the yeah! Sadly, we were *still* looking forlornly at the menu 20 minutes later. Without acknowledgement of our existence, much less a drink. With 2 hungry kids clamouring for sustenance and our frantic waving apparently not enough to catch the attention of any one of the approximately 33 waiting staff's eye we eventually decided to leave. Whereupon we were finally noticed. Much too late. This is a tiny place, with perhaps a dozen tables and at least 5 waiting staff (I exaggerated earlier!) so there was really no excuse. I suspect the youthfulness of the waiters - none of whom looked older than 8 - and the lack of someone experienced in charge was to blame. As we left, the people opposite asked for a menu as they too had been there for a good amount of time without attention, so clearly we weren't alone. Anyway, I can't say anything more fair or accurate than fantastically promising looking menu wrecked by an exceptionally poor customer service experience. Fiddlesticks.

I had the jammy wagon wheel and the banana, which were both excellent, and not cheap tasting chocolate ice cream which I'm really not a fan of. Prices are okay, staff are nice enough, tea cups as lamps and a bit of theming going on. Loos are a bit tatty, and can get not perfectly clean at busy periods. Worth a visit, I'd get a cone and travel out.

So this place has a lot of good reviews on TripAdvisor (which seems to be more popular in Europe…read morethan yelp) and because I love ice cream, I had to go. On a side note, I've noticed that honeycomb is a very popular ice cream flavor in the UK. Anyways, I decided to go with a single cone of ferrero rocher and it was a pretty wimpy scoop for 2 pounds. Not very impressed by that. The flavor that I got was okay, but I was just overall a bit disappointed, and because of that, I probably wouldn't return to this ice cream place if I ever came back to Llandudno.

This tiny, Parisian themed cafe is situated on the Albert Docks in Liverpool and after hearing my best friend describe their pancakes as "the best in Liverpool" I had to go check out this place for myself. I took an old friend there when she came to visit me and ordered the cheese, tomato and egg crepe but asked to swap the egg for ham whilst my friend opted for steak and chips, which apparently was actually quite edible unlike my meal. The crepe looked pretty impressive when delivered to my table but was one of the blandest meals I've ever eaten in my life with next to no flavour, even with the several toppings I ordered, even adding sauces, salt and pepper to the dish. I haven't eaten crepes since, I really think it's put me off the dish for a long time.

The place looks very classy indeed from the outside and as though it is the kind of place a formal dinner should be had or something for a special occasion. The place proclaims a lot of itself which I suppose is a typical sign of French arrogance which is not a bad thing at all as long as you deliver on the bold promises that are being made. The problem here is that I do not believe this place does deliver to the level it could do. I have eaten at many French restaurants and recently returned from a few days in the wonderful city of Paris and unfortunately this place does not quite measure up. In fact I believe places such as Bistro Franc and Cafe rouge which are slightly less central and expensive both offer a closer experience to that of France itself. This place promises much but unfortunately delivers little.
