We have been coming to South Seas for over 15 years. This year, hubby gets our room through booking.com....we didn't realize until we got here that we could not enjoy any of the "extras" that we have in the past, we were told the fees when staying here at South Seas were enormously high. We always paid for the extras and had no problem being able to afford it. But because of booking.com those perks were not included and we had no clue until we drove to the north point and were told we needed that wrist band to enter everywhere...we had them before like I said when we booked through South Seas....we can take the trolley here to the north point , but why bother since we could not enjoy the beach bar or scoops and slices. So I went on line and when I read the statement below and seeing the work Yes, I thought it would be good, we were wrong and now we wait 45 minutes for the trolley, it would be nice if South Seas would offer EVERYONE that stays here some kind of pass to be able to go to the beach bar and scoops and slices...it's not like we don't have the money.....any way, what is your take on the statement below....when I saw the word "Yes" I just thought that was a go....i guess we will think again when coming here. Disappointing indeed Yes, generally anyone can eat at Scoops & Slices, though it is located within the South Seas Resort and is primarily intended for resort guests and owners with Club Captiva access. You can find their location by the Bayview pools for pizza, ice cream, and other treats. ® Key Details: * Location: Scoops & Slices is located at the South Seas Resort on Captiva Island. ® * Purpose: It's a family-friendly spot known for pizza, ice cream, and sweet treats. ® * Access: While the main focus is for South Seas guests and Club Captiva members, resort amenities and businesses can sometimes be accessible to non-guests, depending on current policies. It's best to confirm directly with the resort or Scoops & Slices for current guest access rules. read more

incredibly over priced and very unenthusiastic staff just like the rest of the resort. they seem bothered to do their job.

Everyone at this location was more than helpful and grateful for the business. They all went over the top to help. I was mugged on my trip from fl to ma and these kind people were so sympathetic and very generous and helpful! I can't thank you enough! Needed to say this now. Some day I will show you my thanks and appreciation! read more

Scoops and Slices is South Seas Resort's ice cream shop, with a diner. Located just outside the Resort Pool Complex at North Pointe. As long as we've been coming to this resort, we ALWAYS stop by here. If you're staying here and don't want to drive anywhere, this is perfect. When you entered you'll see that the theme is a 1950's theme. They have seating inside and it's sort of first come first serve, no reservations are taken. We always take our order to go and eat in our room. As far as the menu goes for the ice cream, here are the flavors they offer: Vanilla, Cookie Dough, Chocolate, Strawberry, Carmel Pretzel, Mint Chocolate Chip, Coffee, Cookies and Cream, Expresso Chip, Carmel Brownie, Salted Carmel, Peanut-butter Cup, Butter Pecan, Birthday Cake, S'mores, Cherry Walnut, and Snickers cheesecake. All the ice cream is from Edy's., and they have regular, fat free and gluten-free ice creams. You can get them in a few different ways. Cups and Cones -single, or double scoops. - Banana Split or Hot Fudge Sunday They also do shakes and floats. - Root Beer and Coke Floats - Milkshakes and Malt Milk Shakes - Boozy Shakes with the options of Mudslide, Strawberry Birthday Cake, Baileys Cookes and Cream, and Chocolate Expresso. -They also offer sorbet. They come in 2 flavors, Wild Berry and Dragonfruit. Me, my wife and mother-in-law ordered cups of ice cream. I got 2 scoops of chocolate, my wife got a single scoop of birthday cake and my mother in law got a single scoop of s'mores. For toppings they have a self serve area for no extra charge. I got roasted almonds ( I'm boring lol) my wife got a some sprinkles and a cookie crumble, my mother in law got nothing lol. We love the ice cream here. It's so convenient to just walk 25 feet and their it is. Aside from the sweets, they have food as well. - Chicken Parmesan Sun & Fries -Chicken Wings (Can order them as Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan, Asian, and Plain. Comes with Ranch or Blue Cheese) -Chicken Tenders and Fries -Hot Dogs and Fries -Bacon Cheese Fries with Ranch -Bacon Burger Sliders and Fries - Mozzarella Sticks - Caesar Salad -Greek Salad ( you can add chicken to either salads for an additional charge) - Pizza by the slice - Build your own pizza. (Cheddar, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Pepperoni, Sausage, Ham, Bacon, Chicken, Onions, Black Olives, Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Pineapple, Green Peppers, Jalapenos, Banana Peppers and Feta) We usually end up getting a build your own pizza at some point as well. The make a great pizza. The dough isn't frozen and tastes great. Scoops and Slices is a great opinion for anyone staying at South Seas Resorts. We love this place. read more

Limited ice cream selection. Cake was fine got it takeaway. Would not make a special trip for offering.

Designed to look like a 50s ice cream parlor, Scoops and Slices is a great spot with kids or when you need a quick pizza/ice cream fix. The food and the ice cream are basic, but good. They also have a wall of loose candy, frozen yogurt and some souvenirs. While I'm not a huge fan, I am glad that it is here. Don't go if you are in a rush since service is slow. read more

They get the job done. The interior decor has that 50s diner feel, but it's a hodgepodge of candy by the pound, then ice cream with adding your own toppings, then suddenly also different types of pizza and wings too, if you're interested. It's very casual and that area of the South Seas Resort can be a little more formal. So I thin when they created this place they needed something simple and easy to fill in the gap. Enter: scoops and slices. The pizza is okay and heavier on the greasy side. I'm not typically one of those people who put napkins on their pizza to soak up the grease, but I became a convert yesterday. Then after you're done and if your kids want dessert (shocker, the answer is always yes) then you've got choices of ice cream with a bunch of add-it-yourself toppings and then a wall of candy options by the pound. Selection is decent, but again this place is a filler for everyone who needs something easy and quick. Did the trick for us with and the 5 and 3 year old girls. They were happy and we got out relatively unscathed with the weight of our candy. read more

Scoops and Slices - Inside dining and sales area - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Captiva, Florida

Scoops and Slices is this adorable 50's style ice cream shop at South Seas Island Resort. My husband and I felt like kids eating our ice cream and listening to Christmas Carols (we visited in December). There is a wall covered with candy by the pound so we could not leave the store until my husband selected his perfect bag of candy. We had so much fun choosing different types of licourice, sour patch kids, and chocolates. The prices are a little hefty, but the convenience of having this dining spot at the resort is priceless. My husband and I had the Sunday Special: 2 for 1 hot fudge sundaes. I was a little shocked the sundae was $8, but it came with two scoops of the ice cream of my choice, walnuts or peanuts, and tons of hot fudge and whipped cream. Since one of our sundaes was free I didn't mind indulging. The ice cream shop does a special every day. I noticed Monday's special was 2 for 1 pepperoni pizzas. I think the pizzas are the frozen kind because I didn't notice a pizza oven in the kitchen area. Be sure to bring your resort card. Scoops only accepts your room card for payment. read more

Overall, this was a pretty good pizza place! Very quick and friendly service. We ordered a large half cheese half pepperoni pizza. The pizza was pretty tasty, obviously my fiancé couldn't wait to eat a slice. However, the pizza was priced a little too high for my liking. The inside of Scoops and Slices was a fun atmosphere with a candy bar and fun decor. I would recommend this place! read more

Wow $17+tip for a cup of cheap McDonalds-tasting fake ice cream with some warm fudge and an OK milkshake. The staff wasn't pleased to help us and looked as sad as the pizza which is probably frozen. Do not waste your time if you can get ice cream/pizza somewhere else- get a pint from from the provision store and frozen pizza. Order Takeout dessert from a restaurant instead. read more

Meh. All around meh. Being in such a beautiful area you would think it would be decent. Especially at 6$ for a scoop of ice cream. But I got the birthday cake cone and couldn't eat it. Who can't eat birthday cake ice cream???? Tasted like the cheapest of the cheap. Pretty disappointed. Service wasn't much better. But beautiful area. You do need a room card to order. read more

Ice cream is good, just understaffed. Long lines in the evening. I feel bad for the people working there.

Pizza is great! Workers aren't very pleasant or helpful. We ordered pizza, and mozzarella sticks. The location is good for someone staying on the resort. read more

Convenience is this place's best offering. The ice cream is incredibly average and the pizza - just the regular old plain pizza - had so much cheese on it, it was overwhelming and gross. With less cheese the pizza was decent, but there I was at the pool, with a limited number of napkins, trying to remove cheese and getting grease and sauce all over myself. It wasn't my ideal experience. The sauce did have a decent flavor and the crust was nice and crispy, so there's that. But they would rank in the fourth fifth of all pizza I have had in my life if I had to provide an official rating, So, my advice, if you need pizza in a pinch, tell them to go easy on the cheese and it will probably be decent convenience pizza, maybe a notch above DiGiorno's. If you want ice cream and you can't go anywhere else, theirs fills a need. They also have candy and other treats, none of it cheap by the way, but that's how it goes when your affluent ass can afford to stay on Captiva, you should expect to overpay for these things. read more

Don't waste your money. Super rude staff and the milkshakes are just milk. Very very disappointed! Beautiful resort, I expected much more.

Horrible service. Doesn't matter how good the ice cream is.A smile would go a long way.

We were very excited to eat there at first. The staff does not make you feel welcome at all. Let me reiterate, the attitudes from the staff make you feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Take your kids elsewhere on the island. They don't want you there. Food was not at all worth the price. Go to the bubble room icecream shop, they at least act like they want your business. Very disappointing on a family vacation read more

Our family is staying in the beach homes at South Seas Island Resort. We booked our home rental through Royal Shell Vacations. We have stayed in the same rental home several times and have been patrons of this establishment many times without issue. We have supported the business through the pandemic and before. Unfortunately today, we encountered the worst customer service. We ordered four meals and we were told because we were not staying on property, meaning booking directly through South Seas Island Resort we would not be able to purchase food. We spoke directly to the manager and she said that we booked with their "direct competition" meaning Royal Shell Vacations and would not be able to purchase food at their establishment unless we paid a daily amenities fee for our party for the duration of our stay. If the food was subsidized in costs it would make sense, but the cost is typical of any resort food. This is an awful business practice as we have booked our past stays through South Seas and also Royal Shell and we will not be frequenting this establishment again or booking through South Seas. This completely turned us off and we don't want anything to do with them. We were thinking of booking our family reunion next year through South Seas, but instead will be going through Royal Shell. read more

HORRIBLE shouldn't even get a star... AS SOON AS WE WALKED IN someone was complaining about getting the wrong pizza... but that didn't phase us till we got to the glass we're the pizza was displayed... looks like it was sitting there for awhile, but maybe that was the display pizza and they would make it fresh... WRONG! they took the display slices cooked it for 5 min or less... we got it to go and I took a bite out of mine in the car and OMG I almost threw up!!!! It was uncooked I was eating raw dough!!! I felt the gross dough go down my throat! EW! Not to mention this place was over priced!! Highly not recommend! read more

Although the ice cream is just standard ice cream, you get to put on your own sprinkles which is great because some places are really stingy. The staff here is also friendlier then anywhere else in the resort. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence, but I came here twice during my stay and both times everybody was so friendly I was literally shocked, since most people working at the resort are pretty aloof. They also have pizza (by the slice or whole pies) and a whole wall of candy so it's very kid friendly. read more

I went here for the first time last summer. It used to be just an ice cream place. We went here for for dinner one night, since now they have food as well. We ordered a pizza and salad to take back to our room. The people working were kinda slow and they got our pizza wrong two times. We ended up waiting for a long time since they had to re-do our pizza. They didnt offer to give us any money back. I thought that was a little annoying. When we finally got it, it was very good. The pizza was cooked well and tasted great, the salad had the dressing on the side, so it wasnt soggy by the time we got back. We went back another night just for ice cream and that was very good. They also have a huge candy section, that you can pick yourself and put in a bag. I would be very careful though because its very pricey for the candy. It is located on a resort so I guess its expected. The restaurant itself was very 50s diner. It was very nice, music playing in the background. We would go here again since it is probably one of the cheapest and quickest place for food on the resort. read more

This is a great place to stop in for amazing yogurt and pizza at a fairly good price. Great if you have littles with you. They don't weigh the yogurt so you can get as many toppings as you want & not worry about breaking the bank read more

This place is great. I've been here several times and the ice cream is amazing. I haven't tried it yet, but their pizza and other food looks good too. Just keep in mind that you can only pay with your room card. Besides this weird quirk, the restaurant and food is great. read more

Great ice cream and nice staff. Pizza is very good too! I will definitely recommend and come here again

Watch out for Rose. She does not allow sprinkles on cones. Cups only. She also scolded my kids for adding sprinkles despite all being self service and no sign saying they could not. She said sprinkles were only allowed on cups. Price was same for cups or cones. At $6 for soft service cone it was already overpriced. Hard Pass. read more

If you not staying at the resort, you cannot get food here...must have a wristband...no cash or credit cards accepted. Seems a bit ridiculous seeing that we are staying at a condo at south seas and are here to go on a Captiva cruise but can't even grab a quick bite! read more

This place is absolutely horrible. I showed my ID and was questioned multiple times if I was telling the truth when I already pay enough to stay here. We also tried to say thank you multiple times and never received a response. Tried to tell the manager that we were offended by being questioned about our ID's and we simply told "it's not rude". read more

When I was younger, I used to love this restaurant. It had chicken fingers, french fries, 12 flavors of ice cream, and walls of candy, pretty much everything kids like. However, after a few years of making "improvements" to the place, Scoops and Slices has gone down hill. The food is way overpriced ($10 for chicken fingers now!) and the food often doesn't live up to its pricey expectations. They've also scaled down on ice cream, instead focusing on their pizza, which also isn't very tasty. However, it does still have a large selection of candy. All in all, I wouldn't visit this restaurant except for the novelty and interesting atmosphere of the place. read more

Scoops and slices is within South Seas Resort property. You cant get to it unless your staying there. They keep making improvements but there is still a lot of work to do. They added a candy store a few years ago. Candy is sold by the pound and the kids really like it. This year they improved the pizza and its excellent, restaurant quality, fresh pizza. They also recently added the new style soft serve ice cream machines and toppings but they missed the mark on this one because the ice cream is crap. What they used to "scoop" was much better. The prices are also really high, pizza is $5 a slice. The rest of the menu is typical pool food like chicken tenders, etc. read more

Quite contrived like Doc Ford's with a hint of charm. The strength of this place is the array of candy and sweets. Our kids loved the soft serve. Modern coke fountain dispenser was cool. Decent array of scoop ice cream which was delicious. 3 year old got a giant lollipop which was so fun to watch him work on and even more fun to watch passers-by giggle at him. Hot fudge Sunday was good. Ordered pizza for delivery and it was good and tastier than anticipated. Would not dine in unless maybe for lunch for pool break. This place was really cute inside with mediocre food. I did not care for the pizza at all and my pizza standards are pretty low.
