    Hard and unable to eat
    Tulisa T.

i used to come here a few years ago and each time i came, i always had a delicious experience with no problems. my most recent experience was a bit disappointing. i ordered the oreo macaroon and it was so hard to break and eat. it was unenjoyable. i came in asking for another flavor of a macroon and the employee kindly provided us another one. that was very considerate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is a bit small with limited seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] overall, it's still disappointing that this happened and i will probably not come back again because of the hesitation that the macroon will be hard again.

I was craving ice cream but looking for an ice cream shop open late and that has vegan flavors can be challenging. Luckily I remembered scoop is open late. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They weren't busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fast and friendly. I got exactly what I was craving. Vegan cookies and cream. It was delish!! So many flavors where there you're looking for dairy or non dairy options.

Soooo good! Love the vegan options as well. Service is always friendly and quick. The uber flavor is a must.

I'm very happy to have discovered this place because of my dairy allergy. Multiple flavors of vegan ice cream to choose from. So far, I tried the cookies and cream, chocolate, cookie dough, and ube. The owner told me that the vegan ice cream is made daily. The ube flavored vegan ice cream is my favorite flavor. This. Place offers milkshakes, macaroon ice cream sandwiches, ice cream, and various toppings to choose from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside decorations is part nostalgia and part anime.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is helpful and friendly.

Was on the hunt for something sweet late night and this this happened to be the only thing open in the Spring Valley area. I believe it's Filipino owned with their flavor options. They offer regular ice cream scoop flavors, halo halo, and a wide selection of vegan flavors as well for those with a dairy allergy. We opted for the halo halo which had a mixture of beans, jellies, ice, and ube ice cream. In our opinion it wasn't the most authentic tasting one and it was a little too sweet. I feel like it needed more red bean in a stronger Ube flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is small and there's not much seating inside so I think it's meant more for to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a cool space! As soon as you walk in you'll be greeted by a ton of color, great artwork, and some clothing available for purchase on the back left portion of the store.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are a ton of flavors and you can choose between a cup, waffle cone, or cookie sandwich. As someone who cannot eat dairy I went straight to the vegan ice cream flavors. I got a cup and ordered five scoops. I got cookies and cream, cookie butter, and Ube. There were two workers that immediately greeted me as soon as I came in. They were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I am excited to come back and try the ice cream sandwich next time!

Honestly pretty disappointed in this place, after being recommended by quite a few people, a group of 4 of us came in about 45 minutes before closing and was greeted by a gentleman that looked extremely irritated and not so nicely asked if we are just getting ice cream to go and leaving when we responded yes he then rolled his eyes and walked behind the counter. We were in there for maybe 2 minutes before that same gentleman very rudely asking if we were ready to order and when we said we needed just a second (because we had never been here before and there are so many flavors) again we were met with attitude. The lady working behind the counter was nice no attitude. We got: Birthday crunch w/ the fruity pebbles macaroon Cookie butter & Cookie Monster Captian crunch& milk tea And a 2 vegan flavors. No toppings or anything extra Overall ice cream was good and there was a lot of flavors and toppings to choose from As we were walking out around 6 minutes after entering the establishment we were followed by that same gentleman being extremely extra by locking the door pretty much the second we got our feet out of the door. Over 30 minutes before their posted closing signs. Wouldn't recommend this place if you take more than 3 seconds to decide what you want or if you come anywhere near closing.

HORRIBLE customer service. Nasty old freezer burnt ice cream. 0/10. Never coming back.

Their online ordering can be a little hit-or-miss, so we usually skip the website drama and just order at the host desk. Your food is typically ready in about 15 minutes, and they write your order right on the boxes--which is a lifesaver when you're picking up a feast. Utensils are provided, too. And when I say the portions are MASSIVE, I mean it. You definitely get your money's worth. We've never gone wrong with the burgers or any of the mac-n-cheese plates. My personal favorite, though? The Oreo milkshake. It's dangerously good. One of the hosts also recommended a "secret" menu item: milkshake that tasted exactly like an Orange Creamsicle. That was a fun surprise and definitely one of those "trust the staff" moments! We usually grab our food and take it back to our place, but the restaurant itself is a comfortable spot, too. There's a bar area with high-top seating and a separate restaurant section, TVs showing the latest sports, plenty of space between tables, and thankfully, it's not overly noisy. The hosts/servers were especially attentive on this trip--2 out of the 3 we interacted with were genuinely kind and gave us some great suggestions. One thing to be aware of: there are homeless people walking around the surrounding area, so just keep that in mind when coming and going. Overall, The Modern Vegan has officially earned its "Vegas trip = must eat here" status for us. Come hungry... or better yet, come hungry and bring a fridge.

I had recently been eating a healthy vegan and gluten-free diet at a yoga retreat and noticed how much better I was feeling, so I was craving that same kind of nourishing experience today. The Modern Vegan seemed like the perfect choice. I was greeted by the friendly Nicole at the door, who ended up being my server--and she was delightful! She was patient with all my questions, attentive, and provided genuinely great service. (I think my lemon for the water may have gotten lost somewhere along the way, but Nicole, I forgive you. ) I ordered the Breakfast Skillet, and WOW--it was delicious! I would absolutely order it again. If I were making a couple of tiny tweaks next time, I might go with fresh avocado instead of guacamole if that's an option, and I'd probably get the cheese sauce on the side. But honestly, those are just personal preferences because the skillet was fantastic. The portion was generous enough that I ended up taking half home, which means I already have tomorrow's breakfast waiting for me. YAY! And can we talk about the ambiance? The inside is adorable! I loved all the flowers and plants, the beautiful lighting, chandeliers, and artwork on the walls. It has such a fun, welcoming, colorful energy that makes you want to linger. There was also a cute sign as you're entering the bathrooms that said, "Sorry daddy, I'm in Vegas," which definitely gave me a little laugh and added to the playful vibe of the place. I left feeling full, happy, and very pleased with my decision to revisit The Modern Vegan. After several years away, I'd say this Saturday breakfast was a delicious reminder that sometimes your body knows exactly what it wants--and today, mine wanted vegan food!

There are stairs or there's an elevator located close by for the ADA. It is very small inside: 3 tables pushed up against the wall so they only accommodate 3 seats each. Since it was our first time, they gave us a chance to look over the menu and ask questions. They were very accommodating to our requests for substitutions and even recooked our French fries to make them softer. My son and I shared the Salami sandwich with fries and I also got the southern fried oyster mushrooms with a Housemade dragonfruit lemonade. My son despises any vegan cheese or vegan mayo and he tore this sandwich UP! He even added extra mayo on his half of the sandwich. The olive jalapeño tapenade was tasty and really pulled the sandwich together but it was slightly spicy so careful to those who are sensitive to spice. The southern seasoned oyster mushrooms were so flavorful. The batter was light and crispy, the mushrooms were sliced thick and not too thin. One of the best I've ever had. The lemonade was okay. Could have used more flavor and more sweetener. Overall, I will definitely be back to try some more items on the menu.

I love vegan/vegetarian food, even though I'm not longer living that kind of dietary lifestyle! Crossroads has a lot of great options, from "steaks" to "calamari". OMG I have to give a BIG shout out to the calamari. It was so good that I had to order that dish twice in one sitting. It's made from mushrooms, which I already love, and they are seasoned SO WELL! I didn't even need to dip it in the marinara sauce it comes with to enjoy it. To be completely honest, the calamari here beats out A LOT of real calamaris I've had in my life, which is a lot. If calamari is on the menu at any spot, best believe it will be ordered by me. I got the "steak", which was a big piece of lovely lion mane's mushroom. Very nicely cooked. The sauce on top was on the saltier side, but I didn't mind it. I liked the stuffed zucchini blossoms too. All in all, I would go back just for the calamari even - can't get over how good it is. Our server was nice and helpful when explaining the menu. I did have questions about what veggies were substituting out what "meat" dishes. Mainly mushroom, which is great!

I feel like this is one of the only fine dining restaurants that does nothing. Food/drinks- I got the 5 course meal. The meals weren't coursed the best. We sat for too long between each course. First course- ..... was so flavorful and delicious. I could've had five of them! I believe it was a cucumber and melon salad Second course- Pizza. Not great. And didn't have half with mushrooms like asked. Third course- Linguine scallops -flavorful and yummy. Would've liked some pepper but no one came by. Fourth course- eggplant filet. This. Was. DELICIOUS. I'm actually upset I couldn't eat it all hot and fresh. This was amazing and I'd definitely get it again. Dessert- Banana pudding. Probably the best dessert they have. This was also delicious!! The cream was wonderful and the breading in it. Great creation! Corn tart- Not at all what I expected. Flavor was not great. The shell was extremely hard. I couldn't even cut through it. I was super excited for this, but very disappointed. Wedge salad- Chicken Milanese- good but usually better. Not as crispy as it normally is and we've gotten this multiple times. Overall, one of my favorite dishes, but kind of lacking this time around. Drinks- one tasted like they used pickle juice instead of lime juice. It was awful. The next drink was delicious though. Service- The server was great!! Made recommendations , checked with the chef on something for me. The only complaint is he seemed overly busy with tables and didn't really check back. The manager Jaryd (don't know the spelling) stopped by and was also very kind! The runners were on top of clearing plates but no one ever brought fresh silverware back.

Everything we tried was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The duck is a must-have dish. Great atmosphere and a fun spot to share a few dishes. We put in our order - one pork ramen, one mushroom ramen, and one kids meal + pork belly buns as a starter. One ramen and the kids ramen arrived together. The 2nd ramen arrived 15 minutes after that. They forgot our pork belly buns completely. Despite the large number of staff to customers ratio... it took over 10 minutes to flag down anyone for a fork for a small kid. Our server did not check on us. Her colleagues dropped off the food. When we reminded her that the order never arrived she sounded apologetic. They took off the item + actually packed the pork belly buns in a Togo box. The food overall is good! But for the price (I am from the bay area so I understand how much VCOL should cost). But this was about 25% too high. Someone needs to look hard at the level of service. Because the lady right next to me had her order screwed up and they left items off the menu too.
