Short version: It was almost like a satire of how un-employeable this generation is. No one is in charge, no one knows where anything is or how to do anything. To top it off it is a shameless serious of scams and markups. You can expect to be charged $10 to $30 for your free drink. Full version: When I arrived I got inline behind a woman and waited for my turn to be checked in. Only to eventually find out the person I was waiting on was actually an employee, and the group of employees personal chit chat was more a priority than doing their jobs. From there we jump to discovering this entire business is a shameless series of markup scams. My "free" drink cost me $20. First you will be offered a list of drink options. All options given will be an up-charge. Then offered liquor options all of options they give you will be another up charge. etc. etc. The total for my free drink was $30 which they benevolently offered to take $10 off which they seemed to think was above and beyond. It was also pretty painfully clear neither of the girls behind the bar had any experience tending bar or mixing drinks. When we got to the actual service more attempts to get me to pay more. Then ran into more problems because not only could no one find any hot towels after offering me one, they could not even find a regular towels Leaving me sitting there with my head dripping wet. Each person that came by had a different story, but they were all sure there were none. It was pretty clear someone finally just went in back and grabbed a dirty towel to use. Right about this time someone showed up with the hot towels looking confused because they said they were there the whole time. When we were finally able to get to the actual hair cut I was really impressed. It was the one bright spot. I would even say one of the better ones in a long time, which is almost disappointing given I am never setting foot in the place agin. read more

Fantastic spot with great barbers, nice atmosphere and good services. Jenni and Mackenzie are my usual go-to barbers and they have both been willing to give me the exact cut I ask for, but also willing to give me great advice when I ask for it. I wouldn't be as happy with the way I look now without them and I can't thank them enough for that. Since an alcoholic drink is included in the price of your haircut, I recommend booking their "15-year" service, go in early on an empty stomach, have a stiff drink before your appointment and enjoy your haircut and scalp/shoulder massage with a slight buzz. read more

Nice place I guess if you do your socializing and drinking where you get your hair cut. First trip was nice as I got a decent haircut, The lady rinsed my hair aftet the hair cut, trimmed the hair out of my ears and eyebrows, took her about 30 minutes and was charged ~$38.00. So I decided to book again, second haircut was from a guy, haircut took about 15 minutes total, did not rinse out cut hair, did not trim eyebrows or ear hair, cost $55.00 for a mans haircut, no better than a $18.00 haircut from Great Clips. Back to looking for a regular barber where you get a good haircut at a fair price. I will save the drinking when I am with my buddies. read more

Happened to look on Yelp about my facial cut and found this place, free drink yes, I would luv one, I came to check this place out, this is a new concept and other location are open up across the USA, if u read about who is working here and they have pix of their work too, like Kelsey top dog, she doesn't like dogs! If you read her information 7 times she mentions dogs, if your dog person you would like that, there is a lady from st.Louis and another one from Chicago,males and females trim hair or beards too, different plans too, look at my pix u see what drinks they have, happy hour too ,lots of regular come here and they have their favorite stylist, it's a relax atmosphere, if u have hair, they have plans for that, when you check in and sit at the bar to have a drink and while you wait for your stylist your stylist will come in and take u to their person station, Yelp review dad made was good, I got Melissa my stylist, read that she was from Chicago, I was talking to bartender,told her I'm cards fan and she gave me a hard time ! Watch out, she is a Cubs. So when she came in to get me , I ask south side or north side, Melissa didn't know how to respond and she said she is from south side but Cubs, but more towards hockey, that broke the ice, Melissa is a super person, ask for Melissa, when she was cutting my beard, she explained every step,what gel she used, and so on, she made u feel comfortable while she worked on you, she used hot towels and cold towels too, I have a appointment with her next week just for the free drink, No to do nose and ears hair, give it a try, the location is on the same side as Natural grocery is where Bentley pet store was, where my girls ran all over the store when nobody was there , my beard cost $34 for style and it look nice, Overland Park store is opening up read more

This place was quite the pleasant surprise! I bought my husband and his Dad each a 25 Year package for Father's Day. Both of them felt like they were treated like kings. They received a shampoo, hair cut, scalp massage, hot towel face treatment, hot wax hand treatment, and a hand/arm massage. I'm not one to pamper myself. I received a gift certificate for Christmas and thought, what the hell. Great concept. Sam did a great job. It is difficult for me to go get my haircut, because my wife has cut it for the past 20 years. I got the 25 year and I have to say that it was one great, the hot towel treatment and the paraffin wax treatment was fabulous. My brother in law surprised me with a hair cut at the new location in Olathe. Great location and an awesome atmosphere. Zach and Regan took care of our trimming and we were both very pleased. This is THE best place to get your hair cut. Very nice interiors, skilled and friendly stylists. S&S has a bar attached to it where you can enjoy a draft beer or an expertly made cocktail while you wait. Comfortable couches, Big TV's, and lots of decor that makes it feel like the study you wish you had in your home. Let me start by saying my son is visually impaired. I dropped him off to get his haircut & hoping he'd get a drink(liquor) he is the age to drink. When I picked him up he said he wasn't offered a drink just water or coffee. And it was rushed. The guy was nice he said but over all it wasn't the experience we thought he'd have. I tried calling but because he was the last customer they were already closed. It made me sad because it was a gift for his bday & my daughter paid for it because she thought it was going to be a cool experience to get a drink with his haircut but wasn't offered one at all when that was true entire of him going there! Amazing concept, poor execution. I have been to the location in Overland Park and Olathe, unfortunately neither stylist knew how to give a good fade. Walking in you would think you would get very talented stylist, when in reality their stylists are no better than a sports clips or any other run of the mill shop/stylists. I normally get my hair cut every 4 weeks, I got my hair cut on Saturday the 15th and my hair looks like I haven't had a cut in well over a month. The stylist didn't even blend my beard/side burns into my hair. I was really hoping to get a good cut because the concept is great but after going to two different locations and getting subpar cuts each time, I guess I'll have to look for another place. read more

Cool concept, poor execution. Went in for a straight-razor shave and had to reshave when I got home. Patches of hair left all over my face. Barber chair was extremely uncomfortable for getting a shave. Terrible pop music being played. For the price charged, I expected very skilled barbers, more comfortable atmosphere, and better drink options. read more

Was in today for the first time and really enjoyed it all. My stylist (Anna) did a great job with my cut and really made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. The mini facial they give was something I'd never done but I really liked the treatment. And to top it off with a complimentary drink at the bar, I'll be back. I thoroughly enjoyed my first time at Scissors and Scotch! I've been getting mid-high fades with a hard line and combing my hair to one side, but my hair has started thinning out in the front. Rachel was my stylist, and she knew exactly what I needed. She did a great job on the fade, and added my hard line like I'm used to. Then she explained the combination of using the clay style pomade, a brush with rubber base below the bristles and a hair dryer would help me fill out the front. After she finished, the cut looked great and then I treated myself to a Tank 7 at their bar. The next day I was able to fix my hair like Rachel did and I had 9 compliments at work. If I could leave no stars I probably would. I decided to book an appointment here for my kids & boyfriend in September I assumed it was going to be an amazing cut considering their prices & how amazing their shop is on the inside. Boy was I wrong! When we arrived we were greeted, seated, & offered beverages. Then my boyfriend went first to cut his hair, then my oldest son & lastly my second son. We were there a while then my oldest son came out to the drink area & I HATED it I tried so hard finding things I liked but couldn't. The line up was COMPLETELY OFF! & he still had long patches of hair around his head. So I assumed if my other sons hair is better I'll have that person fix it & was I wrong again! His hair was SO MUCH WORSE it wasn't even funny. Line was worse than my other son & had more hair left everywhere. I was going to ask them to fix it but honestly I was scared that they were going to mess it up more & I would have to end up shaving my kids heads ‍ then my boyfriend came out & his cut was OKAY not the price I would've wanted to pay for all the cuts I would've done it myself at home instead. We ended up paying close to $120 for all their cuts! Too expensive for terrible cuts! Would I go back? Definitely NOT! Save your money & time. read more
