I just moved to town and needed a new barber. Mike's was the first place I went to that was actually taking walk-ins which was incredibly convenient. Both barbers working at the time were extremely welcoming and the overall experience was great! All of the signs up in the walls and sports memorabilia was really cool. I've been to three different master barbers across the US in my lifetime, and this shop outdid them all. Best cut I've ever gotten, hands down. Isaiah was my barber and was great; really nice guy, easy to talk to, understood exactly what I wanted and delivered it. I was watching the cuts from one of the other barbers and those looked excellent as well. Shop has a good vibe to it, and prices were reasonable. If you go somewhere else, you'll miss out. I needed a hair and as I looked in Yelp for assistance, usually has a few good places reviewed. I found Mike's Barber shop in Olathe. What a pleasant surprise, a little nostalgic looking with pictures and posters from Olathe's forgotten years and a little Chiefs support for a big Patrick Mahonés life size poster. The experience was great and I got one of my best cuts in a while. Found my new place to be for a haircut. Go see it for yourself. read more

I just moved to KC from SoCal a couple months ago. I was in need of a haircut and found Mike's online. Boy am I glad that I did! I have gone there twice now and have gotten an amazing haircut (from Megan) both times! I must say, I got so luck to have found a great barber on my first attempt. These things usually take some time when you move to a new city, but after two amazing cuts here I can say Megan is great at what she does, and is consistent, friendly, and true to her craft. The shop is exactly what I was looking for. A real Men's barber shop and not a chain. The place just feels cool. It's the old school place men go to get a trim and shoot the $hit. Both times I was in there were a couple of the locals just hanging out. Mike seems very nice and friendly, and runs a great shop. But this review is more about Megan because she is who I have seen both times I've been in and who I will always try to get from now on. She just cut my hair so well both times! She knows how my hair lies a little funny on the back with my cow lick but seems to get it cut perfectly. Moreover, the cut holds up very well over a month or so. Heck, I could let it go longer, but I just like to keep it trim tight when I have the time to do so. But, her cut is so good I could let it go 1.5 months if I had to. I have had a military style haircut for 20 years. As such, I've cut my own hair with clippers and had no need for a barber. I decided to grow my hair out for the first time since cutting it short so many years ago. I went to my wife's salon to have it cut the first time. It was a good haircut, but i never really felt "at home". I wanted a good ol' fashioned barber shop. After reading the online reviews of Mike's, I decided to give them a try. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Megan, who invited me into the chair for my haircut. I enjoyed the banter with the other customers, along with Megan and Kevin (the barbers). Before I knew it, my haircut was completed and to be honest, I couldn't be more pleased. It is by far the best haircut I've received in 49 years. I would highly recommend Mike's and Megan, specifically. Absolutely FANTASTIC job! read more
