Family fun and learning! Fast check-in entry. Clean, good customer service, inspires creativity, thoughtful, and educational. Connect, learn, and play with your kids. If you have ever been to OMSI in Portland, OR this is similar just on a much smaller scale. Hands-On activities and learning. My kids favorite things were the "bubble room" and making "brush robots" that were powered by batteries.

I honestly believe that learning should look like this amazing hands on learning museum. A place where learning is fun for the whole family. We loved it. I think our favorite was the bubble room. We could seriously play with bubbles all day. Now, if only we could create bubble fun like this at home. The screaming chamber was a blast. Kids are always asked to use their indoor voices but not here because here they get to go into a sound proof room and are able to scream as loud as they possibly can. Esther was the loudest in our family. I wish ScienceWorks was near us because I'd come here with the kids every few weeks. They also created their own arcad games out of cardboard boxes. I love that they are showing children how you can reuse things and that you don't need to spend any money to create something that will keep you busy for hours.

Looking towards the front entrance. A cool water bottle rocket, and a bowling ball weight experiment.

My husband and I went here for a date and it was so fun! There's all kinds of cool hands-on science stations. There's a bubble room (probably our favorite), a flight simulator, and so many other cool things!! Definitely a cool place to take kids, and parents will enjoy it too!

They give you the recipient for their amazing recipe!!

We had such a blast with our kids! Not sure if the adults had more fun than the kiddos. We live in LA area and this what's better than any of our kids museums.

This was a great place to take our kids. Not much for the younger crowd but it was still a fun adventure for our family.

It's a relatively small space that consists of 2 large gallery spaces, plus a little bit within the entrance area, and all situated within SOU's Art School campus. There's some nice less formal displays within those buildings as well. A voluntary donation of $5 is requested at a "free will" box at the entrance to the museum. We happened upon the "Fighting Men: Golub, Voulkos, Kirby" Exhibition. Most interesting were the various comic book displays by Jack Kirby and Leon Golub's cautionary paintings that depict the violence stemming from political power gone awry. Bridging this gap are Peter Voulkos' powerful ceramic pieces. You can easily (and slowly) spend up to ~30 minutes here. I would also recommend entering and leaving the Museum on the University side, just so you can enjoy wandering around this pretty campus.

It's a great stop and it doesn't matter what time of the year you visit Ashland. It is especially great on a day when it is 100 degrees F. It will definitely not break your budget to cool down while looking at some cool art because admission is free. We enjoyed looking at and comparing how each artist has their own style and that was so great for kids to understand that it's important to be yourself and that it's great that no two people or artists are the same. We came in the summer so it was very empty and parking was easy to find. I'm not sure how it is when it's school season.

Disappointed and deeply concerned about the environment at this symphony…read more What should be a place of inspiration, artistry, and community has sadly become a breeding ground for toxic behavior behind the scenes. The administration has allowed certain individuals to create a hostile workplace for both staff and musicians , and instead of addressing the issue, leadership has either turned a blind eye or enabled it. The situation has become so damaging that the orchestra is now pursuing unionization, not for better pay or scheduling, but for basic protection from abuse and manipulation. That should speak volumes. I used to support this organization, but it's heartbreaking to see talented, passionate people pushed out, silenced, or broken down while upper leadership protects those responsible. The public only sees the polished performances, not the culture of fear and intimidation happening backstage. Until there's accountability, transparency, and real change, I can't support this institution. Great music should come from a place of integrity, not toxicity. Would you like a more emotional or more detailed version? Or would you like to make this part of a larger awareness campaign on other platforms (Reddit, or https://slippedisc.com/ or TikTok?

While the performances remain strong on the surface, the internal culture has become increasingly toxic and damaging to the very musicians and staff that make the music possible. Multiple employees have raised concerns about harmful behavior, favoritism, and a deeply unhealthy work environment. These issues have gone unresolved for far too long, forcing the orchestra to move toward unionization -- not just for typical labor protections, but to safeguard themselves from internal dysfunction. If you're someone who gives generously -- whether through donations, endowments, sponsorships, or ticket purchases -- you have the right to know how your support is being managed. Artists deserve to work in an environment rooted in respect, professionalism, and integrity. I urge you to ask questions. Talk to musicians. Don't assume everything is fine just because the concert is beautiful. Your voice, your concern, and your influence could help bring about the change this organization desperately needs.

As for the alleged incident one of these "reviews" is referring to. I would venture to say the proprietor of the business referred to as "The Framery," which frequented the store prior to Houston's knows more about of what we speak. LOL However, with that being said, There is nothing wrong with the quality of Houston's work. As a matter of fact, in my many years in the art business I have never had as a good a framer as Houston.

Perhaps this place offers decent framing services, but in no way should they be advertising "photo…read morerestoration" with any legitimacy. I brought in a vintage photo to have minor damage touched up and the frame it was in repaired. What I received was a damaged photo and a pack of lies. Claims were made which were simply untrue, and the worst part is that instead of being honest about the damage the lies were piled on by both owners. Afterwards I discovered there's a big reason "Tom" had to move his business from Main St. to this rather obscure location. Fortunately there isn't a restaurant next door. AVOID THIS PLACE!!
