This shared more like a junior high school recital and completely missed the mark on the essence of rock n roll. The Beatles era was absolute mayhem. Girls literally peed themselves when they experienced the Beatles. It was said that when the Beatles performed, they couldn't even hear themselves play because the screaming was so loud. This production played more like a talent show at an assisted living facility. The costumes were horrible. Since when is a Mohawk a Beatles era hairstyle? Why not give the players some Beatles wigs? Another noteworthy aspect of the show was the placement of each band member and how stationary they were. They felt separate from each other... there was no flirting... no sexuality. No grit. No emotional depth. And the best singer - the female who sang let it be.... (She was the best part of the show by the way) her outfit looked like something Bert and Ernie should be wearing. Who directed this? How could they not catch these (to me obvious) defects? Also- the women should have been off-book with their narrations. This made the show feel amateur. I wasted my money. I had to leave the auditorium at intermission - which was a first for me. I couldn't bear to suffer any longer. Camelot turned out to be Cam-a-little. No thank you. Never going back again. Boo.

Our daughter attended this studio with her friend who's mom is a dance instructor here... she absolutely loves her dance instructor and spent months working on her dance, even putting other activities she loves on hold to dedicate her time. The day of her performance, i dropped her off with her instructor and just a few short hours later she called me crying saying that the stage manager, Kelly Osbourne was so rude and was making other kids cry by yelling at them and forcing them to stay in small rooms where the heat was unbearable. My daughter told me that the heat was getting to her and I told her to leaving the building to get fresh air but she said she was terrified that Kelly would yell at her and she just wanted me to come get her. I encouraged her to stick it out since she had worked so hard. In talking to other adults that were there, I learned that another member also needed air do to some breathing issues and when she stepped towards a door for air she was accosted by Kelly telling her to get backstage, even stomping her foot at her and saying "I said NOW".... This was told to an ADULT!!! I can not imagine just how she was treating our children if she was speaking to an adult with breathing issues like this. This was my daughters first experience with dance and I know this will be her last due to the experience she endured here. I would NOT by any means recommend this studio to ANYONE especially those with young children.

Mary Cowden Snyder works hard to create a positive and encouraging atmosphere for her dancers. She does all she can to keep prices down and even has scholarships for boys and low income families. I have seen some brilliant new plays at the Ashland New Plays Festival. I think they consistently…read morepresent important new interesting politically charged plays. They are showcasing plays that I think have had very important stances on social justice which I really like to see in plays. I try to make my way to as many of their shows as I can. I think it is very integrated in the theatre based community of Ashland. I think the Unitarian Church is a very good venue for staged readings, but i would certainly follow ANPF to a new location if it changes. Especially because it seems that each show is at capacity in the Unitarian church and if you don't get there early enough sight lines can be a problem, especially from the balcony; there is a railing that can be a really obstruction in the balcony. SOU students, you can discount tickets for $6 make sure to mention that you are a student. If you are buying tickets at the door make sure to have cash, they don't have any way of taking cards at the door. A really fun night out with friends. Make sure to stay for the talk-back with the Playwrights. It's always interesting to have the playwright in the room. And as the plays are in the process of being revised you can give input to the playwright in person! OSF fans, make sure to check it out. There are frequently OSF actors in the plays. It's fun to see them in a different setting.

Theaters are walkable We didn't need a car to go around. We saw Midsummer's Night Dream and Yellow Face, both were at the Angus Bowmer Theater. Enjoyed both productions. Yellow Face was well written. Planning the 2027 plays, will watch an outdoor play.

The stories being told are too often CRAP! Membership has dropped in half. HUH? New plays can be terrific, but year after year of klunky choices is at least partially to blame. I never see anything worth watching when I walk by. If they played Coraline it would bring in people from out of town to come see it. It makes me sad there is no real acknowledgment of Coraline in this town other than a small plaque. Let's either do a Coraline festival or play the movie here! It would be such a waste not do so.. I hardly see anyone going to this theater and I don't want to see it get shut down.
