I only visit museums for the shop. There, I admitted it. I'll walk through hours of exhibits brimming with anticipation of a gift shop packed with nerdy delights. Thankfully at the Science Gallery I didn't even have to do that as the gallery was between exhibitions when I visited, meaning I could hot-foot it straight to the shop without looking like a total idiot.
This shop is pretty small, but you won't be disappointed. There's a great selection of very geeky gifts and you could probably find something for most age ranges - baby/kids stuff right up to your more senior geek. We spent a while browsing the books and I was very excited to find the pixel colouring book that I never knew I needed, as well as the excellent-for-new-parents gift, H is for Hummus. Prices were reasonable (yes, I cheekily checked on amazon before buying them) and service was very friendly. read more
