From our very first meeting, Scott created an environment that felt respectful, balanced, and solution-focused. He was patient, compassionate to our specific and unique situations and genuinely invested in helping us navigate difficult conversations with clarity and dignity. Our situation was particularly unique because we had a number of complex financial assets that needed to be carefully evaluated and divided. Throughout the process, Scott's financial expertise proved invaluable for me. He was able to clearly explain complicated financial concepts, helping both of us understand the implications of different options and ensure that decisions were made thoughtfully and fairly. His ability to navigate both the emotional and financial aspects of divorce with equal skill gave us tremendous confidence during a process that could have otherwise felt overwhelming. Thanks to his guidance, expertise and calm presence, what could have been an even more highly contentious process became far more manageable that I ever expected. I left mediation feeling respected, informed and confident in the agreements that we reached. I would wholeheartedly recommend Scott Levin to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, fair and compassionate divorce mediator. His unique combination of interpersonal skill and financial expertise was invaluable and made a lasting difference during one of the most challenging chapters of our lives, and we are deeply thankful for his support.

Based on good internet reviews, I wanted to hire Samin to help me with my divorce, but she wasn't…read moretaking new clients. So I worked with her colleague, Elizabeth. Elizabeth provided great service and information in a timely, professional manner. At some point, she announced she was leaving the practice, for reasons I don't know. So I was transferred to Samin. Samin and I met over zoom a few times. She was friendly, informative and helpful. Then we decided that mediation wasn't working and I needed to take my husband to divorce trial. So I hired her to represent me instead of on a consultation basis. That's when things started going wrong. Over the next few months, it became harder to get in touch with her. Email responses would take 3-4 business days. Her paralegal was helping me put together forms to file (FL-150) but edits back and forth would take days to come back for my review, wheras I made sure I always returned my part within 1 business day to them. It took 2 1/2 months for her firm to complete the form and file it!!! All the while I was losing out on having the form filed for the purpose of retro spousal support. More than once when they returned the forms for my review there were errors, some glaring, which required more time on my part, more emails back and forth and -yup- more time billed to me. So one day I called the office to express my anger and frustration at the process and asked for a call back so we could talk live instead of email. I never got a call back!! Four business days later I got a stern email. Never was there an explanation or apology for why I couldn't get them to speed up or attend to my case. At one point, Samin told me it was my fault for changing my mind (for 24 hours) and telling her that I thought I might try mediation again instead of court, but then told her never mind and to proceed. Divorce is messy-it is normal to have doubts and 2nd thoughts. Instead of telling me that it's MY fault that the process is taking so long, maybe guide me through the pros and cons of each option and have a little sympathy. Plus, that mixed message only accounted for 2 business days. Not the 2 1/2 months that it took to get that form finished. After feeling ignored, underserved, overwhelmed and uncared for, I finally pulled the trigger and let Samin go. I hired Honorable Legal Services-DeAnn Salcido, who has been phenomenal. Attentive at every step, incredibly informative, educational. She gives me notes, articles with highlights an annotations for me to read. She explains my options clearly. She responds in 1-2 days every time. We've done multiple zoom calls. And her office has a marvelous online system that organizes my files, forms, correspondence and upcoming dates in a way that is clear to both of us. AND she costs LESS than Samin! If I had had DeAnn from the start instead of Elizabeth and Samin, this process would have gone a LOT smoother and faster.

I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through it without Samin Beringer by my side. From the very beginning, Samin made me feel heard, supported, and protected. Her communication was clear and compassionate, and her professionalism gave me a sense of stability when everything else felt uncertain. She told me the truth, even when it was hard to hear, and helped me face each step with realistic expectations. I always knew she was fighting for me and that meant everything. Samin didn't just represent me, she stood with me. I will forever be grateful for her strength, wisdom, and unwavering support. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone going through a divorce. I cannot recommend Catie highly enough. For the first two years of my case, I felt like I was…read morelosing at every turn. My case was extremely high-conflict, and my ex had a way of charming the judge into believing his lies. Despite having overwhelming evidence, witness statements, and even my children's own testimony in my favor, my concerns were routinely ignored. Everything changed the moment I hired Catie. She truly had my back--she made the judge listen, made sure the facts were properly presented, and stood up for me in ways my previous three lawyers never did. Within six months, she completely turned my case around. She exposed my ex's lies, won sanctions, and achieved tangible results. Most importantly, she gave me my voice back. Catie is a fierce, knowledgeable, and compassionate advocate--I finally felt truly represented.

I have been divorced from her for 7 years and have only had contact with her through email. The core of her accusation of harassment and mental abuse was one email response to her that was very crude and insulting from over a year ago. I spoke with several attorneys, and they were all confident it was a weak case to get a permanent restraining order. I am sure that as inquiries come into G&Y, they are reviewed based on possible revenue and complexity. Since my case was most likely viewed as not driving many billable hours, it was assigned to what I surmise was the least experienced attorney in the office. Lea Trojanowski handled my case, and while she expressed confidence that it was a weak case, she showed up at the hearing and presented no defense to the accusations. She explained that the "burden" was on my ex-wife, so we ended up going to multiple hearings to listen to my ex-wife, unrepresented, drone on in front of the judge. When it came our turn, pretty much nothing. This drug out over several months, and ultimately, I was presented with a permanent restraining order. I would have fared the same if not better if I had proceeded to represent myself. It was glaringly obvious that while she had spent time working in the SD Court offices (Domestic Violence, Family Law Facilitators), she had no real experience representing a client in front of a judge. When I provided her feedback on the experience, she blamed me and essentially changed her story, saying that the case was not a good one, and I gave her nothing to work with (I had provided a significant amount of information that could have been used to refute my ex-wife's claims). If she is the one that Griffith & Young provide you, I would pass and go another direction.
