I had an appointment today at 11:10am and arrived 5 min late. They said I had to reschedule after I drove 40min to this location. The receptionist is rude and mad about her life because she's a fat cow. I won't be rescheduling with this office and hopefully they get shut down soon. I have been trying to get a call back from the Kennett Square office, been waiting for well over a week. Crickets.. they just don't care about the communication. Called after a week and left another message, was told they would call today.. they closed 45 minutes ago.. no call back. You can't actually call the office, you end up in a centralized phone center that sends a message to the office to call you back.... and they never do. read more

I will never be involved with Schweiger again. They screwed up my appointment time and date after it was confirmed. When I arrived, they did not know about my confirmed appointment. The office nurses all complained about their horrible office phone service. I refused to leave and waited. The dermatologist spent 12 minutes looking at my small skin rash, ordered me a 4-tier steroid that costs $175 after my insurance, and then dared to charge my insurance company $450. Schweiger Group is a sub-par organization and part of why our medical industry is overcharging patients. They should be closed down by the Better Business Bureau of New York. I will be reporting this practice to the better business bureau. They conducted an in office biopsy following a skin check, and the the post-visit notes stated that I had signed a consent form and that the risks had been reviewed with me, neither of which happened. There was also a lot of other detail included regarding information provided/discussed which I never received. Then I received automated results of basal cell carcinoma but no one ever called to discuss the results. They don't answer their phones and their own call center can't get through to them. I left many messages that were supposedly escalated, but nothing ever happened. I finally got someone from another location to schedule the surgery. I was supposed to receive a pre-visit call with instructions prior to the surgery but no one ever called me. They don't off any explanations. I decided to complete the surgery to take care of the issue but will be leaving this practice. read more

I'd been itching for weeks and it had spread pretty much. I finally got tired of it and called to make an appointment with Dr Margetas. l kept thinking I had Eczema again, as I get that fairly often. But, it wasn't clearing up with the Eczema medication I had. I tried several different ones, but nothing really helped. Dr Margetas looked at what I had and said she thought I had hives. She changed my medication and they actually cleared up in a few days. And, the itching went away. And, I am a happy camper again. read more

I do find some of the reviews silly. Some people got upset about the wait time to see a provider. That is very common at a lot of practices. A person got upset because she forgot to bring her insurance card and they didn't see her. It is like that everywhere else. My issue is that I have scheduled a couple of full skin cancer screenings. Skin cancer runs in my family. A full screening was not completed. The provider did not exam me properly. If I do end up having skin cancer in the near future then I can easily file a malpractice lawsuit. When I schedule a full skin cancer screening, I am not just asking for a mole to be examined. I am asking for my entire body to be examined which didn't happen. This has happened more than once. I feel like the providers are over booked and do not take their time seeing patients. The practice seems to be more focused on volume rather than quality. I am considering looking for other practices in my area since this practice seems to be rushed. read more

Drove 45 minutes because I got a good recommendation on this place. 6 minutes late due to construction traffic and they said I had to reschedule. No grace given at all. this review is for the Dermatology and Skin Care Center in Exton on Gordon Drive. I have faithfully had my annual skin care screening very year here for at least 4 years with no issues. I think that history qualifies me as an established patient. I called there yesterday as I am having some type of allergic reaction or dermatitis issue and wanted to see a doctor in order to receive relief from this. I am basically scratching my skin off my body! I was told no one could see me until mid August. When I asked what I should do about my immediate condition they said go to urgent care. Really? Are you serious? Wouldn't you think they would have time blocked in their calendar for issues with existing patients? I find this unacceptable and will not return to this location. read more

My boyfriend recommended the Exton location. They were too busy so I went to this location. He swore up and down they were a good practice. The lady at front desk was super rude when I forgot my insurance card. It's usually not a big deal because in the past when this has happened, I would call Aetna or the front desk would to verify I had insurance. Which we did. The front desk lady then demanded a copy of my card rudely. I told her ah-ok I will email or fax a copy. She rudely said it was not acceptable and I had to bring it in. I never heard of that! The doc also tried to put me on oral acne meds when I had one zit! Very odd. I went home and told my bf I had a bad experience and would not go back. I had another skin issue I needed someone to look at a couple months later. He urged me to go to Exton because they were better. The doctor there didn't seem to care and I also brought in my outstanding bill to pay in person on my second try. The lady who took my payment was rude as hell and acted as if I was annoying her. Not sure what's going on here. I will never ever go back Dermatology and Skin Sugery Center in Exton or Kennett Square! read more

This used to be a good practice. It is not anymore. Many doctors have left, and the front desk staff is rude and misleads patients. They billed me for the 1st time for a procedure done almost a year ago, and when I called in 'Gale' was super rude and told me that they would be committing 'insurance fraud' if they did not bill me. This is not true, plus they were over billing me anyway. I know another patient who was treated rudely, and the doctor (who has since moved to CA) mis-diagnosed her condition and prescribed the wrong medicine. Stay away - many better practices out there. read more

Being a small business owner, I am careful not to give quick bad reviews based on one bad experience, so I have waited a while and for a few experiences with them to post this. We were recommended to this dermatologist by our family physician. My husband had a mole that needed to be removed from his face, so I called them. Not once, but 3 days in a row. Never got through to a live person... was only able to leave a message, which I did. Never got a call back, even though my message was clear and concise. Finally reached a live person on my 4th and final attempt. The front desk staff seems extremely disorganized and poorly managed. No one seemed to know what they were doing and I was bounced around to several different staff members. I know more about insurances than they do! It took a month to get in to see a doc, and after waiting for almost an hour, my husband was looked at for less than 5 minutes and was told that he would need to schedule with their surgeon, who is only there one day every other week. Ok, so we set up that appointment and he went. Mole removed. Sutures placed. Scar treatment (Mederma) recommended and out the door he went. Back to have sutures removed several days later. Everything healing nicely and thought we were done. About six weeks later, the area suddenly becomes red, then darker and swollen. I called to see if they could take a quick peek and see what's going on. Finally got through after several attempts again. Again... lots of disorganization at the front desk. Lots of new people... seems like they have a high staff turnover and very few people seem to know what they are doing. I finally talked to someone that was somewhat competent and set up an appointment for next day (today). Again, hub had to wait almost 45 minutes to be seen (sitting in the waiting area, watching at least 8 other people come and go, and the front desk girls right in front of him, not offering him any indication of when he might be seen.) Finally was taken back. On the way to the back, the staff asked him if he has been massaging the area. Huh? The only post-op instructions were to come back for suture removal and to get some OTC Mederma. Nothing else. So here he is being given a hard time for not following the instructions that they failed to give him! So the doc (one he's never seen before) looked, gave him a shot of cortisone in the area and scheduled him with the surgeon for next week for a follow up check. During today's check-up, the doc he saw was making small talk and asked him what he did for a living. When my husband told him we own an elective ultrasound facility, he stated that his nurses come to us when they are pregnant, then started bashing our business and stated that it was pointless for people to want to see their babies and find out what they are having when they can just wait until the birth. Huh? Ok... so we'll be sure to recommend to all of our friends just to use Clearasil for their acne instead of visiting a professional! If you can't say something nice, then just don't bother making small talk. Seriously, at least our office staff is professional, caring and attentive, and we are thorough in providing instruction! There has to be a more professional dermatology practice around and I think we will seek one out for any future dermatology needs. This office really needs to become more organized, professional and caring. read more

This group is one of the most frustrating medical groups I have ever dealt with. The continually cancel appointments. The delay and ignore problems until you need to be admitted to the Hospital for 2 hours of surgery. This place does not care one iota for the people they are supposed to be helping. Do not wast your time, or your health dealing with them. Go elsewhere if you care about yourself or your loved ones. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE. My daughter was terrified after her appointment. They were rude and callous, quick and abrupt, didn't explain anything and the stuff they did say was completely inappropriate in front of a young girl who now is terrified she's going to be bald and lose her eyebrows. They even offered treatments for a minor issue that is not recommended for young children. It was awful and they shouldn't be handling children at all. I made sure my husband was there so one of us could walk her out of the room and discuss what was going on. He (Ed Blanchard) didn't even give us a chance before he blurted all that out and left the room. Our appointment was at the Brandywine office. A letter was sent to the office describing the entire appointment. I am curious to see if they even offer any apology or follow up. read more
