Called them for Chimney and Fire place inspection and to service gas logs…read more Received inspection report with photos of Chimney stack they are proposing repair work but no photos of interior inspection of chimney. And, more importantly, very little information concerning chimney condition and integrity of interior lining. Received proposal to Replace chimney Crown, Flashing, power wash and seal bricks. Estimated at a little over $4,000. The Technician that came to my home was polite and professional. I did watch as they worked -- cleaning fireplace, did not see them inspect interior of Chimney. Technician also showed me random photos from internet of Chimney stack (above roof) tops to explain issues with "crown" but did not show me pictures of my chimney. Then he went to truck and returned with tablet (ipad?) to have me sign and pay inspection bill. Said I would receive inspection report and a proposal for recommended work via e-mail. Did receive them. No contemplating recommendation -- proposed work.

Had both Chimney's lined and insulated for our fireplace and Wood stove. Perfect! Installed a big Osborn insert in the fireplace and it works like a champ! The first cold months of November and December we didn't worry. Great job guys! Purchased through Anderson, my Fire Chief 1000e wood furnace; had it installed DEC 20. Very good installers and they knew when to stop, meaning, hooking the furnace into my HVAC system. Heck, one of them was even a fellow Army Ranger! RLTW Great job from Nissa, Matty and the entire crew of Anderson's! Professional, experienced and well worth the price!

They promptly fixed our radon issue in the basement, and they were professional and courteous. Upon testing our radon levels, the system they installed worked properly and reduced our radon levels to zero. If we have any more radon issues, we will definitely use them again!

Just going through the process teaches me what is involved and what is important in selecting a contractor for the particular job. A competitor gave a preliminary estimate over the phone that was not only slightly higher but was premised on boring through the floor near the electrical panel, going over the top of the concrete basement wall, and then going straight up the outside wall. As it turns out that location was unsuitable because things on the other side of that wall, as Jeremy pointed out during his one site visit to do an estimate. The only suitable locations were on the opposite wall 52 feet away. Jeremy had planned to tie into an electrical circuit on that side of the room, but decided there would be too many lights and outlets on that circuit. So they installed a new circuit breaker and run 52 feet of wire across the ceiling, adding about $75 in materials to their costs. Floor joists blocked access to the area over the concrete wall, so they knew they would have to bore through the concrete wall. The poured concrete wall was 8 inches thick and had continued to harden over the past 20 years. The angle at which they had to drill made the job even more difficult. So drilling through the wall took significantly longer than they had expected. In the middle of the job two electric lights in the basement stopped working. It might have been a coincidence that this occurred while they were working, but Jeremy insisted upon tracing and testing the wiring and then fixing the loose connection in an electrical box tightly packed with wires. This took an additional 20 to 30 minutes that was certainly not in his estimate. There was a one crack in a concrete wall and several cracks in the concrete floor that they sealed as part of the job. The cracks had been there for several years. I kept putting off getting them fixed imagining that it would cost hundreds of dollars to fill them. Based on experience with other contractors I was fully expecting Jeremy to tell me that he had not included installing an additional breaker in the breaker box and running wiring 52 feet across the room, or fixing the loose wire, or spending so much time drilling through the wall, and that the cost was now higher. But to his credit he stuck by his original estimate. Connor was on the job all day and Jeremy was here most of the day. They cleaned up as they went along, and left the place spotless. The work was all done neatly and professionally. We are so very glad we went with Precision Inspections & Radon Solutions.
