He then handed me a Discussion and Consent printout and requested I sign it. He explained that it did not mean I was obligated to proceed with surgery, but that we had discussed it, including risks of complications. I signed it, expecting a discussion. He then rushed out! His receptionist gave me a date for surgery. After some online research which included NIH research articles, I became concerned about a serious complication (ENS) reported by a fairly significant number of patients as well as the abysmal level of overall patient satisfaction a year after this surgery (inferior turbinate reduction). I called Dr. Wexler's office to postpone the surgery until we could go over the liklihood of complications. His office did call, but only to confirm that I was cancelling the surgery so they could take it off his schedule. I was stunned that: 1) he could not be bothered going over possible complications either during my office visit or after being specifically asked before surgery took place; 2) at the high level of patient dissatisfaction with this surgery and; 3) that a serious complication was not even listed on his printout.

When I call them and say I am sick now and I do not know what will happen if I wait until October, the receptionist says you should talk to you PC about that. We can not do anything regarding the appointment. If it is ethically and legally right, I have no complaints. If it is not, I should say I am sorry for the management procedure and patients in that place. I do not know who to talk to!!!

Now, they are ignoring me to for a follow-up appointment? 3 radiologist, told me to eat puree until I see him, yet nobody will answer me in the online portal. Contacting my primary to see what he thinks I should do. Healthcare is a mess and I'm sick of being kicked to the curb. All I did was show up to my appointment, the staff is awful and now, I'm left with no ENT to tell me how to proceed? I need an endoscopy according to the test results. There is an "arch" that is "rare" and a "delay" in swallowing. Italian Ice and yogurt...Losing weight. Disappointed.
