I should also comment that the temperature was perfect - not warm or cold even with friends and family going in and out all night. The original viewing times were from 6-9pm, but we didn't leave until a few minutes after 10. The funeral home did not push anyone out or try to close the doors or anything. They just stayed and continued to help out in any way that they could. They were very hospitable and kind! My only complaint is that there was no water fountain. There was a soda machine where you could buy a canned drink for 75 cents and a bottle of water for $1, but I don't carry cash and had to borrow money from my mom when I got thirsty. I understand that it would cost them to keep a water dispenser, but it would have been appreciated! The rooms are beautiful. There's a tiiiiiny kitchen and they won't allow you to have food or drink outside of it. With such beautiful, well-kept carpet, I can certainly understand, but I do wish the kitchen were larger or that the two tables in the room were set up against a wall so more people could get to refreshments. Eight or more people in the room felt incredibly crowded.

She went above and beyond to help me order my father's VA bronze marker. There had been confusion at the VA office and Jean got everything worked out for me and my siblings. Seriously, I could not have done this without her. She even sent me a photo of the marker to be sure it was correct before having it installed. Nothing was wrapped around the "urn" to ensure it stayed closed. it was placed in a white box which was placed in a shipping box. As pictured you can see no thought was put into protecting the urn during shipping. When I opened the box ashes and dust came out all over my table and floor. There was ashes spilled in the shipping box. The urn, if you can call it that, was open and it was completely covered in dust and ashes. Even the death certificates are grainy from being covered in Ash. My dogs remaines received better care after he was cremated then my mother's remains did. It's very disheartening to know my mother was being spilled all over the US postal service. I don't even know what I'm supposed to do to clean it up. Honestly I can't throw the box away. I haven't even been able to wipe down the urn cuz what am I supposed to do? Just throw part of her ashes away. Wipe away part of her ashes with a wet cloth This is really terrible

The funeral home there had no idea what to do and serenity funeral home walked them through everything. They sent his clothing with him also so the funeral home there would have everything they needed. They went above and beyond. If not for their honesty and dedication I couldn't have gotten my son back home for burial and would have had to cremate him. Other funeral homes were gonna charge me for a whole funeral which was twice the cost. I called several. I appreciate these folks so very much and highly recommend them. The guy even said he would pray for our family which you don't hear often these days. I have so much respect for them.
