We ordered a similar meal to what we normally had at our previous place, and we were blown away. The food was so tasty, and cooked to perfection. While we ordered a similar meal to what we had from the old shop, but it had some subtle differences, and they all improved the food greatly. The meal sizes were generous. The service has always been exceptional. The people have always been pleasant to talk to, and the proprietor has a cheekiness about him, which added to the enjoyment of buying our food from Buddy's Kebabs. The ambiance of the shop is pretty good, and fits the look of the business type well. You could enter the shop blindfolded, and take the blindfold off, and you would know what type of shop you're in. All in all, it's an excellent shop, with awesome food. The only drawback is that it's expensive, and we can't afford to get our kebabs as often as we did from our previous shop. It's worth the extra, but barely, especially considering that our previous shop cost about half as much as Buddy's.

It's usually a testament to how good the food is at a place when it's always chock a block full of people waiting and Kyoto is one of these places. I don't like waiting though, and you don't have to long because Kyoto is always well staffed. I'm always pleased to see just how often they bring out freshly cooked food and they don't just throw it on top of what is already there, the old stuff is replaced with the new stuff which adds ticks for me! You can't go past the fried chicken with lemon or sweet and sour sauce, sweet and sour pork, beef with black bean sauce, noodles, rice and stir fried vegetables. Don't the staff get trained anymore? Don't they listen to customers' orders? We've had to repeat our order 2, 3 or more times before staff have finally got it. And then of course we get the order & it's wrong! Is there a language difficulty, or are the staff there just hard of hearing or do they have learning difficulties? Or don't they care? Surely this needs to be looked into by management. If you can avoid Oak Park maccas, do so, do yourself a favour & save yourself the disappointment - go eat elsewhere.
