We recently took a day trip to the Goldie, and of course had to check out the new Pac Fair reno. There amongst the obnoxiously-named upstairs food court "The Patio" we found Schnitz.
Being a bit of a schnitzel fan, hubby insisted we eat there immediately. In trepidation, I scanned the menu fearing $30 meals however found the food to be quite reasonably priced!
I ordered an American bun, being a Schnitz with mustard, pickles etc. Hubby went for a Thai style wrap. With drinks, this came to about $35 for the pair of us.
Waiting for our meals, we admired the hipster decor that seems de riguer these days for any pimped fast food joint. Industrial chairs, custom wallpaper and the like. I did enjoy that we could see straight into the kitchen where the staff seemed to be quite cheerfully assembling schnitzels at a rate of knots!
Our food came post-haste, and it was pretty darn good. Hubby chose this unfortunate moment to discover he is one of that percentage of the population for whom coriander tastes like soap, however apart from that pronounced his wrap to be great. My burger - essentially a huge bun stuffed with schnitzzy goodness - was amazing. Spot on flavours and a serving so big I almost couldn't finish it. ALMOST.
Lastly, I must give a shoutout to the fries. Beer battered and served up with some "secret ingredient", they honestly were the best chips I've had in a long time.
Thumbs up to this place, we'll be back- but probably to the one nearer to us at North Lakes! read more
