I am the Retail Operations Manager for a local retail business located off Woodruff Road and I-385, I started searching for local companies to perform a big job that would require working with the SCDOT. Luther Marchant was the representative sent by Schneider Tree service to give me a bid. Base on pricing, job completion time, working with SCDOT, filing all paperwork needed and communicating with DOT it was a easy decision to go with Schneider and working with someone as professional as Luther. Everything was completed base on the Scope of Work I gave them and the SCDOT would allow. I knew I would see improvement to the property but not to the extent that I could see across I385 and consumers now can see our pylon & building sign. I was so pleased that I received a phone call from the Hampton Inn Manager asking me who did the job for us and the companies I called to bid the job. It is my understanding they came to same conclusion and have went with Schneider Tree Service too! I have worked with Scott Carlson (one of the many certified arborists at the company) at Schneider Tree Care numerous times for almost ten tears. I chose to use them many years ago per the recommendations of two friends of mine who happen to be master gardeners. Scott was always knowledgeable and professional, and assessed each situation to give us the best possible outcome. They have cut down numerous trees for us, some of which required using cranes. They have also pruned branches from large trees, ground stumps, and treated a dogwood for pests. Everyone was always courteous and professional, from the office staff to the employees on the job site. When we moved to our new house, one of the things Scott did was to help us devise a "master plan assessment" of things that needed immediate attention and things that could wait a while. I appreciate the attention to detail, knowledgeable staff, and customer service. Schneider Tree Care saved one of our beautiful Water Oaks! One of our oaks recently developed a large crack in the trunk between the two major limbs. We had two tree services come to give us free estimates on a solution. One said "your tree cannot survive. We'll be glad to take it down for $1500." The other said "We'll take off the heavy side and see if the tree survives. If not, we can take the rest down." Then we called Schneider Tree Care! Scott came out, gave us an explanation of what was really going on, and offered a plan to save the tree. After the installation of a securing rod and three cables, our Water Oak is as beautiful as ever! None of the additions are visible with foliage, and, with a little thinning the tree is even more healthy and beautiful! I used Schneider Tree Care when I had our last home built to help us save the amazing trees that were on the property. They were great at identifying what should/could be saved, and putting the protection in place to make that happen. Years later, those trees are still healthy and growing, and provide a magnificent setting for that home. When we built our next home, we had them remove some trees and apply fertilizer and other products to improve the health of some existing trees. Luther Marchant is very knowledgeable, and is great at patiently sharing that knowledge. He has been wonderful at helping us decide the best course of action when we had a problem. I originally engaged Schneider Tree Care when I heard one of their employees working at a neighbor's home and the way he talked about preserving the look of the tree as much as the health of the tree. They've shown that respect for other projects since then. But we were not a "regular" by any means. This particular incident happened during our ice storm this winter when we noticed a tree leaning over against another one. Even though everything was iced over in the morning, they called and made sure we were safe from it falling on us (we were), and came out as soon as the roads were clear to check it out. Over the last 15 years, i have used Schneider Tree Services several times to remove trees that have fallen, died or presented a hazard of falling on my house or breaking up my driveway. There were as few two to as many as fifteen trees removed each time ,including the stumps being ground. Many of the trees had to be cut from the top down, with each section being lowered by ropes to avoid damaging my lawn, or other trees and shrubs. My concern for expected damage to my lawn due to use of heavy equiptment necessary to move the trees, proved to be unfounded. Upon moving to upstate SC, I was persuaded by neighbors to use "local" guys instead of Schneider, the company I first contacted....the "local" guys charged me about $300 less for a tree removal, and wound up costing me about $2500 in repair to my destroyed yard! After that, I contacted Schneider for further work, and every time, they have been prompt, courteous, and completely attentive to the care of all my property, not just the trees. Any spills or messes are cleaned up immediately; and the arborist in my area is completely knowledgeable and trustworthy. I called Schneider Tree Care to my home to get a quote on work on several trees in my yard. The representative who came out was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He walked my entire yard with me and inspected the trees for possible safety hazards (i.e. dead limbs, exposed roots, split trees, etc.), and he thoroughly answered all the questions I had about my trees. Afterwards he made his recommendations to me and emailed me a detailed quote. I also liked the option of paying one flat rate for an entire day of tree work. I have found Schnieder Tree Care has provided me with excellent service over the years that I have used them. I have 3 clumps of river birch in my backyard that has been maintained by Scheider for the last 9 years. Frist, had them thinned to remove excess branches that are constantly dropping in the yard. Next they applied a plant growth regulator to minimize excessive stretch making the leaves thicker the branching more compact. The plant growth regulator is a good tool for extending the life of the river birch. Most other arborists just trim the branch ends without proper thinning creating more branching problems. read more

If you want the best, these are the guys to hire. You may find a less expensive solution out there, but I would caution you will get just that, a less expensive solution and less value for your dollar. The work Schneider did on our very mature trees, one that was a prominent feature of our property, was superb. When we sold the property, I have no doubt that the aesthetic quality and healthy condition of the canopy work they did was a selling point. An arborist reviewed all my concerns with me ahead of scheduling the job, and the on-site team they sent for the day's job were busy all day, efficient, and clean. read more

We are very pleased with the work provided by Schneider. First, we had some cypress trees that were looking sick. Schneider came out and provided us with a recommendation for treatmenr that we have been using. The trees appear to be healther and look much better. Secondly, we contracted for a daily climbing crew to remove about 12 trees and grind their stumps. All work was done professionally by a very experienced crew. They took great care to remove the trees, several which were leaning over the edge of our house. I will definitely call on Schneider for any future tree work that I need. read more

We have used Schneider Treecare for tree removal, tree trimming, and valued them for their expertise and advice. Recently we had a load of wood chips delivered. Even for such a small service, the personnel at Schneider spent time with us discussing our needs with us and made a great effort to please us. We have used Schneider Tree Care twice. When we first moved to SC from NY we wanted to make sure our trees were healthy and pruned. We had survived Hurricane Sandy and wanted to make sure our wooded lot was safe as it could be. We had 2 days of service, pruning, trimming, plucking out unwanted shrubs, removal of old wood and tree roots. The were awesome. Recently we had a large hickory cut down as it was a yard wrecker also more scrubs plucked out and brush trimmed back. All work is neat clean, workers are polite and friendly. Schneider has our work account, so when I needed some work done at home they were the first ones I called. They were very responsive, knowledgeable, and good at what they do. However, they are by no means the least expensive. Some may say you get what you pay for. If you want someone bonded that doesn't leave a footprint on your lawn when you are done, these are your guys. Just note that you will pay a premium. If you just need someone to drop a tree in an open space, you can probably find a less expensive option. read more

It was pleasing to know that a Certified Arborist was checking my maples for disease and any other maintenance needed. The crew who trimmed the trees did a most professional job. After a terrible storm , I had two large trees to fall in my back yard . I was told by my insurance to call a tree service to take care of everything . I was luckie enought to run into several Schneider's workers at lunch . They were so kind and even called there office for mr right then . Two days later everything was taken care of .
