I enjoy this location as it is in a good location to get in and out easy. The parking lot is big and parking is not an issue even when busy. Schlotzsky's is always known for fresh bread and I enjoy the original with jalapeno bread. Then throw in their jalapeno chips tops it off. With the medium drink which to me is everyone else's large drink. Thank you for not shrinking your drinks. The assistant manager Nick is always there seems like making sure you get what you want. The decor is standard Schlotzsky's and makes it fell retro to me with the barn style and food truck decor. read more

Buongiorno à túttí! (Good morning everyone in Italian) I did a review the other day before I had my "original" sandwich so In thinking about it more, I wanted to say that the staff was great. The original sandwich was good but the sourdough bread could've been toasted a little more. It got soggy and I was very disappointed. The Mac & Cheese was awesome, too. It wasn't quite so bz so I stood at the counter and was chatting with Nicholas. Very nice young man and the manager Megan, she was on the ball and she was really nice as well. I went to the one on SW Gage, I believe. I'd forgotten how nice many of the people are. here. The other store in Topeka's ratings are horrible and the people were dogged down for attitudes that I won't tolerate from anyone anymore. Im the customer and the customer is always right even if they are in the wrong. Appease appease appease the customers..... granted some don't deserve to be treated well but someone has to be the better person in the chaos! Management needs to address the attitude issues in the other store. They do nothing so why is corporate not going to its stores and seeing what is going on? I have not been here in awhile but decided to Pop In for dinner. I ordered fairly quickly as there was 1 person ahead of me. I ordered at the counter a small original sandwich, I was thinking about what bread I wanted but the lady taking my order said that all they had was Sourdough. I waited close by the window and there was a young man assembling sandwiches, he was waiting on the orders to come out on his side and while he did he took out his phone from his back pocket for a minute and swiped on it.....While wearing his gloves!!!! Then he headed back to assembling sandwiches and he DID NOT change his gloves!!! It was the guy ahead of me sandwich he was assembling and I was in complete shock! As he was about to assemble mine I went up to the counter and politely and quietly stopped him and said hey, I'm not wanting to come across rude, nor do I care that you were on your phone but could you please change your gloves. I work in surgery and would appreciate it. He didn't put up a stink and changed his gloves. I don't think people realize that when touching other items while preparing food you should take off your gloves and put new ones on before touching food again. This young man's phone was in his back pocket from which I saw him grab and then got on his phone with the gloves-he grabbed items to assemble sandwiches(lettuce, onion, etc) which really should be thrown out now! Phones carry a lot of bacteria on them-more so than a toilet. I'm not mad I just don't think people are educated on this because this isn't my first encounter witnessing this. Food: pretty good. Price: egregiously high for what you get. Service: absolutely unacceptable. The workers take forever to make food, they treat customers like dirt, and they cuss frequently in earshot of customers, including children. The managers don't solve any problems when they're reported. Everyone has an attitude. I emailed corporate about a horrible experience I had with my family recently, and all I got was a sad attempt to dismiss my concerns from Chris Artzer, who is supposedly the director of operations. The workers violated fire code by locking us in, they cussed within earshot of us, including my daughter, they hurried us along and couldn't or wouldn't answer questions about the menu, and several other issues I won't itemize here, and he only addressed a few of my concerns by dismissively saying "we'll discuss this in a meeting." I never got a follow-up, and when I asked for one, he just reiterated that he discussed the issues in a meeting. What does that mean? Was anything actually addressed? Was anyone reprimanded for their unacceptable behavior? Was anyone willing to apologize? Were any changes made? If you don't have problems here, great, but when you do (it's a question of when, not if), don't expect anyone to resolve the issues. read more

Good for lunch! Schlotsky's baked their own bread daily and it elevates your average sandwich to really, really good. This location was clean, busy and had a good variety of seating. That, coupled with inexpensive prices, I'd be a regular if I were a Topeka resident! I had the pastrami and Swiss on sourdough, which ran about $6. Variety of drinks, soda and tea and a bunch of chip flavors. They're super light and crispy, the salt and vinegar were delicious. We visited this Schlotzsky's for the first time for about 10 years. I had forgotten how much I liked Schlotzsky' sandwiches. The menu and food choices has grown since last time I was here. The dining room has doubled in size. There is a person who brings your food to you know if you are dining in, so you can find your table or booth and not have to wait in line with all the people who are ordering to-go. We waited for 25 minutes after ordering before we finally were served. We arrived right after noon, so I suppose we were in the noon-time crowd. The food was very good and hot. I ordered the new Cuban Brisket sandwich on Jalapeno Cheese bun. It was a generous portion of hickory smoked brisket and Swiss cheese. Dijon mustard was included on this sandwich. I liked the flavor. I will order this sandwich again. The dining room is very large and clean, plus there is an outdoor area with tables. The outdoor area is right next to a very busy parking lot, close to the drive-through on a local bank and many other businesses. I don't think I will be dining outside due to the volume of traffic exhaust. read more

Service was fine... Food was fine....but the tables/booths were so dirty. There was a quarter between the seat and the back of the booth but there was way too much other dirt to be temped to get the money out. Gross! The unsweetened tea smelled like poop. I dumped it and just had water. Over all this restaurant was way to dirty. Made me wonder what the kitchen was like....but tried not to think about it while eating. Apparently Topekans don't care/aren't bothered about dirt because it was busy???? I won't be going back to this location. read more

Have visited this location many times over the past several years. Staff is always friendly. Food is always great. Cinnabon was a great addition. We love the Albuquerque Turkey and Original sandwiches. We love the ample seating at the Gage Blvd. location. Parking is ample as well. Walked in the door and a woman snapped that I would need to wait outside until someone in the store left as they could only have 5 people in the store at one time. I went out and waited. After about 7 minutes I could go back in and order. While waiting for my order, I saw at least unhappy customers due to their orders being wrong. They replaced their orders and by the time I got our order I had waited at least 25-30 minutes. Got home and one sandwich was right and of course the other one was wrong so waiting almost 30 minutes and then the sandwich was wrong and tasted like crap. I LOVE Schlotzsksys!! I always look forward to going there when I'm home in Topska, KS. Unfortunately we only have 1 in a 40 mile radius of where I live in NC. I absolutely love their potato soup and the original turkey sandwich. It's probably best that I don't have one close because it's not on my diet plan!
