I grew up near the mine and always wanted to take a tour so we did visiting this year. It was so…read moremuch fun seeing the mine and learning about its history. Attached to the mine is a restaurant that serves local German dishes. I highly recommend having a bite before leaving. Their Schnitzels are excellent. Grube Fortuna has everything to offer for all ages. Admission to the mine was pricey. It was around $15 euros per adult for a one hour tour.

Our guide was awesome, didn't speak much English but they did have points where I could read while he was talking. They had some great static displays of the equipment and how it is used. Super interesting and certainly worth seeing.
