I loved the classy ambiance, but found the establishment very child-friendly.
We were given bread with several decadent spreads to start with, followed by an amuse-bouche of mushrooms and a plum dumpling. Outstanding! For our tapas, we ordered the soup of the day, a carrot salad, potato gratin, schnitzel, meatball with sauerkraut, salmon and spinach rolls. The standouts being the potatoes and the salmon rolls, while the others were decent. We also ordered one of the flammekuchen, which was fantastic. We were worried that it might not be enough food, but it turned out to be too much and we ended up carrying home a doggie bag.
The food at Restaurant Die Schule was very tasty, but the highlight of the evening truly was our server, Nico, who was so attentive and kind. And his suggestions were spot-on. I have already suggested this place to my friends in Berlin.
