BEWARE of this practice, post is long but worth the read. I had been a patient for 3 years at this practice, and while always satisfied with my care, things changed with the introduction of a new provider. October 2025 at my regular cleaning, they were "running behind because of the new provider" (quote from my Hygentist Bev). She rushed me in, cleaned my teeth, took new X-rays, and she was off to get the new dentist for the exam. He introduced himself, gave a 2-minute exam, said " nice to meet me and off to the next patient. After his departure, Bev informed me that I needed two crowns and they should be done as soon as possible, for fear of further damage. Interesting....I had not reported any changes or pain. Off to the checkout I go. Checking out the total for the day was $328.00. Evaluation $70, Bitewing Four Image $100, and Prophylaxis $158. The estimate I was given for the two crowns total $4640.00. Wait....you want me to invest $4640.00, allowing someone who spent less than 5 minutes with me doing the work? Nope, getting a second opinion. AND!! I called the office and spoke with the office manager, Pam, about my experience. She told me they would/could do the work at the current price because after the new year, prices go up 5%. Found my wonderful previous provider, made the appointment, arrange for x-rays to be transferred. (See my review at Concord Smiles, 13 Wall St., Dr. Dulock) New appointment, all was going well until I found I needed new X-rays, Schell Dentistry had failed to provide the latest October 2025 and Dr. Dulock needed to see if any changes. Schell's office sent 2023 and 2024, but not 2025! Those of course, were the most important to see the changes for the impending new crown diagnosis. New X-rays were taken and after comparing, Dr. Dulock saw no changes from 2023 and 2024; he felt no crowns were needed at this time. He did mention that perhaps at some point in the future these fillings might need replacing, but not now. Yay, Dr. Dulock, thanks for taking the time! Today, December 16, I called Dr. Schell's office and again spoke with Pam to let her know the October 2025 X-rays were not sent and there had been an "error" perhaps on their end in transferring my files. She put me on hold and when she came back, told me the files had just been transferred. Don't need them today; I needed them yesterday. Pam also informed me that Concord Smiles "could" have called for the X-rays yesterday. Honestly, it took me two phone calls due to a busy signal to talk to her. "We are busy" was her reply when I pointed that out. And when I also pointed out that had the new provider, Dr. Mahlik taken the time to examine my x-rays, perhaps he would have come to the conclusion that no crowns were needed? She, Pam, became very frustrated with me and accused me of being "mean"? Seriously, I thought I was very much under control and being polite based on the service their practice had given me. She did wish me a Happy Holiday or have a nice day wish, it was a brief comment before hanging up on me. Moral of the story - get a second opinion, I'm VERY glad I did. read more

I really liked Dr. Schell! He took good care of my chompers, and even repaired the tooth I broke at Murphy's (see the Murphy's review) and you would never know the bottom 1/3 of my tooth is fake! Well, now you know, but you wouldn't have known if I hadn't told you. His hygienists were cool and for the first time ever explained why flossing daily is so important. I then started to floss daily. Dr. Schell wins! The staff does sorta rush you through and the end of the visit is awkward. Do I stand here? Do I pay? What do I do? Oh, please, somebody tell me I'm so LOST! Eventually they tell you to stand HERE and pay THIS. I also got my teeth whitened with the system where they make a mold of your teeth and the goop goes in the trays that are made from the mold. My trays were uncomfortable and I went back in and they adjusted them. And the goop made my teeth hurt and made me ultra sensitive to sound, which is weird, but I've met somebody else who had that happen to so I am NOT the only one. Anyway, the system worked well and my teeth are white as new snow in Enfield Center. Yay! I also thought it was cool that Dr. Schell was, at least when I saw him, on faculty at Dartmouth. Fancy. He did send my records quite expediently when I moved and changed dentists, and that was very nice. I would see Dr. Schell again, if I ever moved to NH again, which will NEVER ever ever happen. So maybe you can see Dr. Schell instead. read more

I am writing this review on good faith. I live in Los Angeles. Whenever I have a question regarding dental services, or pricing I consult Dr. Schell who I have known for years. He is always very knowledgeable and fair in his advice. Particularily when my husband had an issue with his tooth. It has been invaluable to me to have his expertise available to me. Due to economics and insurance issues, I got behind on my own dental maintainence, but a recent tooth ache proved to me the importance of dental care, and the value of a good dentist. I found my LA dentist on yelp. I hope you trust my recommendation and give Dr. Schell a visit. Don't make the mistake i did- run don't walk to the dentist. This dental office, like many, is a collective practice. You most likely won't see Dr. Schell but some other dentist/hygienist there. I was not impressed with the folks there. The appt staff felt rushed all the time. I felt the dentist that I got was a bit pushy to get some dental work done. The dental cleaning was pretty subpar, both my wife and I used separate hygienists there and neither or us were happy with the results - the cleaning wasn't really clean (I suppose we should have made a thorough check before we left). read more

Dr Schell's office and staff really seem to care about what they do! I like the fact that they travel all over the country to learn about the latest and most up to date techniques on a regular basis. I also like the fact that they volunteer at local health clinics and teach a course through the Dartmouth Medical School. The office is beautiful and the staff are all so caring and friendly, they make me feel very important and I trust that they know what they are doing and also have my best interest at heart. I really like Dr. Schell too! He genuinely cares about his patients and spends a lot of time with you explaining what is going on and what can be done to fix it! Dr. Schell has a true appreciation for art with is evident throughout his office - his eye for beauty carries over into his cosmetic work which is top notch! I found the staff friendly and efficient. I was a patient at this practice for about a year. I'm pretty happy with my experience here. I was Dr Brown's patient (who has since moved away from the area) and was pretty happy with his work (no later complications, nice interactions), and the way I was treated by both the clinical and administrative staff. I visited the office once after Dr Brown moved, and saw Dr Noble. Overall, good experience. I was surprised later, after I moved away fro NH, that I received a bill for some services that I was told in the office are covered by my insurance, but were not. I called and complained and they just waived it (~$100-$150). It was big surprise to me, as it did NOT match the "greedy dentist" sterotype I had in mind. If you are in the area temporarily (like me) for training at Dartmouth, and don't know where to go for dental service, I recommend this practice as I had a good experience, especially compared to similar practices in large cities. read more

I have been to a number of dental practices over the years, and Dr. Schell and his staff are among the best. The hygienists are friendly, caring and thorough. I certainly have never felt rushed at any time. I have sent my elderly mother and my 20-something daughter to this practice, and both are also very happy. My mother and I think Dr. Schell is both friendly and very professional, and my daughter has been very happy with Dr. Noble. She does not have dental insurance, and other dentists have told her that she needs very expensive dental work immediately. Dr. Noble has started the work that she needs, has explained everything thoroughly, and has recommended a reasonable timeline without being pushy. This is the first dental practice that has not scared her off. Before my first visit I was supposed to take an antibiotic because of a knee replacement. My MD never got around to prescribing one, and I thought I would have to cancel my appointment. The receptionist immediately took care of the situation by consulting with Dr. Schell and finding the pills that I needed and adjusting the schedule slightly so that it would all work out. I felt very comfortable and cared for, as I always do every time that I return. The office is clean and welcoming, with beautiful artwork everywhere. Highly recommended. read more

When I first to the upper valley I went to another dentist, but eventually I found this office and have stayed with them since. I have been a patron of Dr. Schell & Noble for the past 6 years. I have had a variety of work done including standard care, minor surgery & night guards. The staff is knowledgeable and efficient. They stay on top of the latest tools & techniques in dentistry and service (including text message reminders of your appointments). My appointments have rarely run behind schedule and quotes have been accurate & competitive. read more

Schell and Noble is a great family dentist office. I've gone there since I was a kid and now my 5 year old daughter does too. I have never ever had a bad experience and always leave feeling like I have brand new teeth. The hygienists and dentists are all so friendly and so good with kids too. My daughter begs to go get her teeth cleaned now. I recommend this office to everyone who asks about dentists in the area. read more

I can't say enough about the wonderful care provided by Dr Schell. I have severe anxiety coupled with fear of dentists. Dr Schell treated me with kindness and patience. He never made me feel ashamed of the poor condition of my teeth. When I was there I felt like he cared about me as a person and not another name on a chart. Good customer service by friendly reception, very unprofessional service by a female dentist. On the morning of my 1st visit to this dentist I got a phone call (at 11:20am) from reception saying there was a cancellation and invited me to come in before my 1:00 appointment. I did not say I would be there at any specific time before my scheduled appointment, but thought I might be able to come in early and would if I could. Ultimately, I wasn't able to arrive early, but did show up for my appointed time at 1:00. The dentist had made other plans outside the office and had left early, leaving the message that she was expecting me at noon. I had driven from out of town and had fit her into my schedule. I will not return to this unprofessional dentist. I had cold-called this dental office to find a new dentist and chose it because of the good customer service I received from reception. I was a walk-in with a broken tooth. I was in a lot of pain. I'm a veteran and have PTSD as well as social phobia, dentists cause me extraordinary anxiety, but the assistant and Dr. Schell made me feel very comfortable and more relaxed than I would normally be. The reception ladies were very caring, immediately collaborated to find an available doctor and got me into a chair in minutes, they truly understood I was in severe pain and went the extra mile to take care of me. Unlike other dental experiences, there were no condescending comments about the condition of my teeth, no lectures and no pressure for follow-up appointments. Every step of the procedure was communicated in laymen's terms before it was done, and there was no surprises.
