BEST place for late night pizza that is quick, tasty, cheap and enough to fill you up when you are…read morehungry, especially if it is getting later at night, everything starts to close but this pizza spot is open later. It costs 2,50€ a slice and they are a good portion for a single serving and they even cut it into four bit size slices and put it on a paper plate. I like them all, but my favorite is champignon, salami, thuna, mozzarella with rucola, or the cheese/anchovies. Drizzle a bit of garlic olive oil for extra flavor and sprinkle some paprika/red pepper dry flakes for a bit of spice and oregano if you like to dust it off, then either sit and eat or eat and run. For some reason, eating thin sliced pizza only gets my appetite ready to eat more! They have alcohol here as well, so if you do stay awhile, you can also drink a beer with your pizza.

The small restaurant is located in the basement of an Art Deco building in picturesque Eppendorf and a reservation is highly recommended since there are 15 tables at most (inside and outside). Interesting concept; Underdocks is stacked with industrial Hipster charme, done without much budget…read morearound an old container front and empty oil barrels, but with good spirits and creativity. Underdocks specializes in fish rolls, fish tacos, fish bowls and (fish, again) ceviche with a twist (so they call that "2.0" ... in 2018, seriously). It is not a cheap place, especially if you consider ambiance and location as well, but they also do not skimp when laying on the food. The food tasted nice, although since there isn't a single regular fish taco place in the entire port town of Hamburg as far as I know, I wouldn't have minded the fresh "1.0" fish taco version either... A warning - some of the twist seems to be to put more oil in and fry much of the foods, and then top up with a heavy dose of mayo sauce, when compared to the 1.0 versions of their foods. If you don't enjoy that, ask them to be merciful when ordering (I know I should have)...

Even though the place is always crowded, you most often get a place for two in a short while. The most enjoyable tables (for me) are those in front of the windows. You sit on barstools and can rest your feet on the windowledge. More than 2 people are very lucky to get one of the three bigger tables. But even that should be possible. Go there !
