Titterington's is an electrical shop in Lisburn's main shopping area. It sells TV, washing machines…read moreand other appliances as well as cables and other related stuff. It has always got a good name as the place to go not only to buy but also for advice on any electrically related problems you might have. And I can vouch for this, the staff know what they are talking about and usually can get you sorted. (They were the only place in the whole of the town that could help me with a problem I had.) And quite well priced too. Only draw back is that the shop itself is hidden away up an alleyway, and you have to go out of your way to find it.

And they usually do so within a day. This is something that the larger electrical stores fail to do without charging you extra and making you wait for a week or more. The only drawback with this shop is they are slightly limited to products but can order them in. And it is down an alleyway and hard to find. All in all I would recommend titteringtons for all your electrical items.

They didn't do a great job initially with our blinds, several of them being too long when they were fitted, but they have no problem fixing it for you if they've measured or cut them incorrectly, and that's in keeping with their friendly customer service.

I actually don't know how they can compete with these larger outlets, but in fairness they really do. I've bought loads of white goods over the years, in Dublin mainly, but this was the first time that anyone insisted that they gave me a walk through of all the products features. Furthermore, he takes the code from inside the unit & registers the guarantee for you! Found the chap insightful & helpful. Couldn't recommend the store highly enough.

Over the past year or so it has plummeted in standard and shot up in price, (the elderly and young were the staple clientele of McEvoys). Why did they have to change it? I'm a great believer in 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' if you had a sick older relative in hospital...get them something in McEvoys, a child ready for school...get them kitted in McEvoys..a nice new pair of big women's pants...go to McEvoys. Now they seem to have tried to move upmarket and more 'fashion' based, basically just like all the other department stores around. McEvoys, go back to your roots, big pants, thermal vests, fleece nighties, fat men's pyjamas, terry tea towels, knitting needles, wool, stuff for turning up hems, bed socks, thick welly socks, flat caps and cheap and functional baby clothes. Basically the stuff that is far too un trendy to be in most other places but essential to the older person. Granny will pay a small fortune to have a decent pair of knickers that will come up past the waist band of her skirt you know. And you can never have too many thermal vests. Go back to where you were 10 years ago it will be much better!

Keith at Country Garden Furniture couldn't be nicer and more obliging. This is a small outfit by many standards, but the stuff is fantastic, well made and very sturdy and not to mention BARGAIN PRICES!!! I had been looking for a good quality picnic table for ages, the local B&Q have them but I wouldn't sit a doll on it, crap crap crap quality, it would blow away with any sort of a gust at all. Any of the ones we had been pricing were all £300 plus for a decent table. BUT!! i came across this place and was amazed at the quality, weight and finish of the stock here, all for the bargain price of £160! I was over the moon. They do play houses, pergolas, sandpits, hen houses, decking, arches, planters, garden sheds, bird houses etc etc. Hard to beat I must say.

And that's not all that was happening. Oh no. 25% off Yankee Candles was happening. Oooh baby. I think this is possibly the fourth or fifth review I've written in relation to Yankee Candles. If you've read any of them, you'll know I'm a fan of the melts (technically called tarts, but in my world that sounds a bit...cheap, so melts it is). If you haven't read any of them, I'm a fan of Yankee Candle melts. Particularly when I get 'em cheap. £1.05 was the original price, so with 25% off I got them for 79p each. 79p. I thought I was going to spontaneously combust with excitement when I saw how cheap they were. Such a fab selection too! Roll up, roll up, get your Yankee Candle tarts / melts 'ere...
