Thy have a huge rang of vintage items set outside the store, this is what actually caught my attention. It's a bit like an upmarket car boot sale. There didn't really seem to be a theme to the items. There was a mix of furniture, household decorations and general bric-a-brac. I loved it - there is something really exciting about sifting through all their products. Almost like a treasure hunt. Antiques collectors would love this place. It also had a range of vintage camera equipment that was behind lock and key. Upstairs houses more modern handmade gifts, cards and part accessories. If you want a unique gift for a loved one or are decorating your home and want something a little different look no further than The Cove! Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

This is the place to get your collectables in Belfast…read more You've probably seen all their larger items outside the shop on your way out of Belfast and said to yourself, 'I've got to go in there' but never got round to it. Set aside an afternoon and walk across Custom House Square to On The Square Emporium. This vintage shore/auction house has some of the most quirky stock you're likely to find anywhere. They have everything form a human skull to retro cameras! I spent around 40 minutes riffling through their various antiques and furniture items. The only ting I would say is that each item seemed quite expensive although you wouldn't expect anything different for collectables. Also make sure you ask the 'all in' cost of items as some have an added buyers premium - this will keep you right. I absolutely love this shop - more of a museum really without an entrance fee, if you're looking for a signature item of furniture for your home then pay The Emporium a visit.

A nod signified the affirmative, and I continued, "I'm looking more for decorative ornamental pieces..." Which is kinda true. I mean, I certainly don't need any furniture. Heavens, I could just imagine my mum's face when I tell her I've purchased an antique mahogany table, complete with four matching chairs... Having a look around, I discovered there was absolutely no way I could even begin to think about buying anything...this stuff was pricey! I informed Mr Shop Owner that I liked one of the clocks, to which smiled, picked up a business card, and went on my way. Now, I can't deny that my visit had been in complete vain. The address section on the business card read "96 Main Street, Moira, Co. Armagh". Well, I never. I was utterly convinced Moira was in Co. Down. What do you know?

I have always…read morefound the owner civil and friendly, and although I've not always made a purchase, when I have done so, I have always got a reasonable to good discount on the labeled prices, along with some normal 'time of day', 'nice/awful weather' etc chat. I find it hard to believe that he was rude to any customer, unless there was some provocation.

The pieces on show here are fantastic and although my budget rarely passes Ikea its still nice to come and see beautiful original pieces that don't come flat packed in a box. I must also point out that they also sell art, lavish mirrors and beautiful jewellery! If you're looking for a beautiful engagement ring with character and history do have a look as they really are beautiful! (not that I'm pining or anything...)

This is the place for the serious money on a par with the best of the big London auction houses like Sotheby's or Bonham's - in fact one such catalogue was open with a picture of the same furniture item as was in the shop. They also provide a service for sourcing antiques for those in the running for that sort of thing, but not for those of us better suited to an occasional rummage at Ross's.
