My mother doesn't speak English well, so I helped translate. We explained her internist needed clearance from a cardiologist to restart blood pressure medication, which had previously been stopped during a hospital stay. Dr. Yuen didn't bother reviewing any of my mother's recent tests or consulting her family doctor. Instead, she demanded a repeat EKG and blood work and refused to help when my mother expressed concern over insurance coverage and test duplication. When I asked if she would speak with the internist or provide the necessary clearance, Dr. Yuen said, "Your mother refused testing," and walked out. Moments later, she called security--on a 93-year-old woman with limited English who had done nothing wrong. It was shocking, cold, and completely lacking in compassion. She showed no interest in helping and seemed focused on rushing to the next patient. I left feeling like this was all about billing, not care. I would never recommend Dr. Yuen or Scarsdale Medical Group. Our elders deserve far better.

My wife suggested going over to Scarsdale Medical, where you don't need an appointment .i drove over and in less than two minutes of waiting, I was ushered into an examination room. Five minutes later Dr.Rodriguez had examined me and assured me that once I took her prescribed antibiotics, I'd be fine! I paid my $15 copay and left feeling great! I wrote the review about two years ago but I wanted to write an updated one. Last night I called the office after they had closed and described a new medical issue that freaked me out( I'll spare you the details). I spoke to the receptionist on call who assured me I'd hear from the doctor on call within 20 minutes. I was skeptical but within 15 minutes, Dr. Adler called and reassured me but suggested I drop into their Heathcote office on Saturday morning to see a doctor. Scarsdale Medical has walk in hours on Saturday and Sunday, no appointments are necessary. I showed up at 7:55, and while their hours are 8am-5pm, their office was open and within 10 minutes, I was seen by Dr. Sarah Van Wagner. Dr. Wagner took my vitals, examined me and within another 20 minutes I walked out of their office with a smile on my face, feeling great. I think it's pretty amazing to be able to get such amazing medical treatment from such a dedicated team of professionals. I've been a patient of Scarsdale Medical for over 20 years and I have been consistently impressed with their empathetic and dedication to their patients!

They got the job done, but they did not do it well or make it easy.  My son needed a helmet and…read morestarted wearing it around the end of December with the initial estimate being to finish around mid February (roughly six weeks).  However, we after awhile the helmet did not fit well when it would fall over his eyes and bridge of his nose when he slept sometimes.  We were advised to not wear the helmet overnight and eventually he got a second helmet.  The second helmet had the same issue and the process repeated and we received a third helmet the beginning of February, which was not far off from the original estimate for when we'd be done.  Somehow, despite my son wearing the helmet while awake/during naps the estimate was still six weeks, which I don't understand at all since he had spent nearly six weeks already wearing it for about half the time.  I never got a good explanation of how the time remained unchanged aside from a weak one that since he's older (he was less than six months when we started and would be over six months by mid February) the estimate goes up.  The third helmet had the same issue after a month or so, but he had made enough progress that we finished two weeks later in the beginning of April.   As you can imagine, it's not the most fun thing for my son to wear a helmet over his head and the fact that a month and half was wasted doing nothing was unacceptable in my opinion.  I was told that this is very, very rare for them to need to order three helmets, but even if that is true it does nothing for me and I can only speak to my experience.    Overall, there were way too many excuses on Cranial's side, which I did not find professional.  As professionals, they should have taken accountability.  They tried to pin it on him shifting during sleep even though he didn't roll over at all in his sleep during the first two helmets.  I think that's a rather weak explanation since I'm sure many other babies moved just as much, if not more.  Another "reason" they tried to give was that he had an odd head shape.  It's not like he's shaped like Stewie Griffin and even if he was you guys are the professionals and should know how to deal with it.   The biggest excuse they gave was that it was the manufacturer of the helmet's fault.  The pictures and measurements they were giving the manufacturer were good, but the specifications came back slightly off, leading to the helmet slipping.  Again, I don't find that to be an acceptable excuse.  It's their manufacturer that they chose.  The key words there are "they chose".  They made the choice so they should be accountable to that.  It does not instill confidence in me when they try to shift the blame even though it was their very own choice.    Also, they attempted a weak appeasement when I mentioned how it was supposed to be done mid Feb and now it looked like six weeks from beginning of Feb.  They said that as parents we can choose when to end treatment.  Again, that strikes me as passing the buck.  They are paid, licensed, trained, medical professionals.  They should have science and actual information behind their recommendations.  I don't have that since I'm not trained on the matter.  Obviously, I want it done as soon as possible, but I also want it done right.  Instead of pushing it back to me, recommend what's best for the patient and what's best for the patient is not for well-meaning, but untrained parents to choose when to stop treatment.   One last thing that I did not appreciate was when they were taking measurements for the third time of my son's head to get the last helmet.  They make him sit still for awhile with what I can only describe as a panty hose-esque thing over his face.  My wife was lamenting how he keeps having to take these pictures and getting new helmets.  One of the women in the room (who I believe works at the front desk) just remarked with "It happens."  I don't know what she thought she was doing, but after a month and half of setbacks that I blame Cranial for, along with a bunch of excuses showing a lack of accountability for their process that we followed and their manufacturer that they chose, I'm not in the mood to hear what I would describe as bad bedside manner.  Yeah, it happens, but it shouldn't happen and if it does happen that's not a helpful response that people want to hear.  Why anyone would think that is the appropriate response is beyond me.    So yeah, I think 2 out of 5 is fair.  His head is better, but it took twice as long as it should have and hearing excuse after excuse after excuse when we followed the process you developed is ridiculous and tiring.  I don't recall a single moment of "Yep, we messed up.  I'm sorry that happened.  We will try to do better in the future."  You guys are the professionals.  Act like it.

March 3, 2021: One year, 7 physical therapists, and 12 doctors later, I have been diagnosed with…read morecongenital hip dysplasia, cam impingement, and they also found labral separation. It is believed that my legs were pulled in the position they had me during the botox procedure causing further hip pain. It is unfortunate that I have been treating my symptoms in the wrong order as many of my symptoms did not manifest until the day I had my procedure at Maze Clinic. I am still having moderate to significant pain in my groin, lower abdomen, lower back, and have consistent vulvodynia and pudendal neuralgia symptoms as well SI joint inflammation consistent with sacroiliitis/degenerative change. All of these symptoms began immediately after having the botox procedure here with the aggressive dilation. May 2, 2022:  I recently had stage IV endometriosis (adhesions, lesions, and cysts) excised in addition to having two PAOs where my hip dysplasia, impingement, and chondral labral separation, and SI joint inflammation were also causing significant pain. The endometriosis was everywhere, specifically behind the rectovaginal area, and most likely present when I had this procedure as well because I had debilitating dysmenorrhea that was overlooked. Endometriosis can cause deep dyspareunia, superficial dyspareunia, vulvodynia symptoms, hypertonic pelvic floor and more. It's just unfortunate that none of these were diagnosed or appeared earlier prior to doing this procedure. This is a common problem as many people face dismissal and are misdiagnosed over and over. I was told by many physicians and physical therapists including this place before this treatment that I just needed the "extra push." My vaginismus/hypertonicity is just a symptom compared to everything else. I also most likely have congenital neuroproliferative vestibulodynia - overgrowth of nerve endings at the vulvar vestibule - which is often mistaken for vaginismus for many patients. There is a tremendous lack of knowledge/literature in the relationship between hip abnormalities and pelvic floor dysfunction. Hip dysplasia and/or impingement can lead to hypertonic pelvic floor and labral tears which can cause pelvic pain, SI joint inflammation, and symptoms that mimic pudendal neuralgia/vulvodynia and bladder urgency. Most pelvic floor PT exercises STRETCH and RELAX the muscles surrounding the hip, which is actually the OPPOSITE of what you need to do with hip abnormalities (dysplasia and impingement) since it can cause further damage and exacerbate pain symptoms. The bottom line is that I needed real surgical interventions - 3 SURGERIES with leading surgeons before I could even come close to treating the sexual dysfunction and hypertonicity. No amount of dilation or botox would have helped any of this. My hips, buttocks, and lower back have little to no pain anymore and strengthening has had the best benefit for me. To both patients and providers, attend an ISSWSH annual meeting or course to learn more about sexual health and stay up to date with the recent literature. Pelvic floor dysfunction can have many causes and misdiagnoses are common. If you are someone with a long history of pelvic pain, tightness, and the pain exists not just internally there may be something else at play. Also, if pelvic floor PT doesn't help or makes things worse, please go to another specialist and/or have a sacrum, pelvis, lumbar spine, and hip MRI/CT scan first. Please consider hip abnormalities, endometriosis, SI joint dysfunction, and vestibulodynia, and screen your patients for lower back, lower abdomen, and hip pain too.

I can only guess the more info you have of your own health could put them at some disadvantage. They are run by business people, not doctors. I have recently been threatened with a collection agency to get a (paid) $15 from a year ago. The patient portal is totally unsatisfactory. You cannot just look up when your last doctor's appt was. You have to know when it was, which defeats the purpose. You have to pay for parking at Ridge Hill, by a system on a cell phone requiring a great deal of info including credit card info.
