We can tell the difference in her vocabulary and communication. Most importantly, her confidence and motivation are boosted! Their assessment indicates strength and weakness, and learning is focus to supplement her learning and continue to challenge. Both teachers and cusotmer service are great. They are very approachable and open for feedback, and willing to accomodate to our needs. Due to Covid-19, we had to transition to online tutoring via Zoom. It was sudden but super smooth withtou any interruption. I was bit skeptical, but online tutoring saves our drive time and waiting, so we prefers it over in-person tutoring now. My child enjoys collecting Sylvan $$ (attendance), and received $10 Amazon that motivated her alot. If I have to say something different... I would be curious to see assessment scores comparing to state, US national, and international standards. Other than that, nothing but positives. Families whose children require accommodations or flexibility--including those supported by physician documentation--may find that exceptions to stated policies are not respected, even when based on medical need. Overall, the gap between how the school presents itself and the day-to-day reality was significant. In our experience, this environment was far less supportive and far more rigid than local public school options, including Portland Public Schools.

I can't say enough good things about the teachers, staff and families that make up the CLASS community. The small, age-blended classes allow the teachers and staff to truly understand and cater to the needs of each student. More importantly, the teachers and staff truly care about each student and are highly dedicated to their success. I'm truly amazed at the job they have done fostering our son's emotional and academic development. They've helped instill a sense of confidence in him that I never thought would be possible. Most parents are also very involved in the school (and several of the teachers/staff have kids at the school) which helps create a true sense of community. As the saying goes, "it takes a village to raise a child" and our family is extremely grateful that our village is the CLASS Academy community.

Whenever I come to this playground it brings me back to my innocent youth; tetherball in first recess, red rover and kickball in afternoon intermission (what it was called before recess). A lot of the learning is done outside the classroom and on the playground. This playground is, as Donald Tremp says, "huge". Lots of area to learn. I don't anymore, but I miss the days where I used to be a recess safety officer (duty). I was able to tell all the children to be safe and make them listen to my stories of my youth. Now it was brought to my attention that a "Mr. Jason" who is employed at Lincoln has in some form been encouraging and/or ignoring the issues. I would not send your children to this school until they get better staffing (if you have the option). After having this issue I also spoke with 2 other parents that have recently pulled their children out of Lincoln for similar problems! Never is it acceptable as an adult; especially working at a school (who should be setting a proper example) to tell a 6 year old that they deserved to be punched in the face by another student. They refuse to do anything about the bullying, and employee bullies at that. Not to mention they are obviously not adequately watching our children.

The coveted charter school was closed and barely functioning. Months went by. As working parents the situation felt completely chaotic. Enter Trinity, the principal was and is warm and welcoming in every interaction. The virtual learning was far more engaging and enriching the we could have ever imagined. Our daughter is glued to the class even via zoom which still astonishes me 3 months in. The school was able to safely, efficiently, and calmly (yes legally) incorporate in person learning sessions in small groups. They are on point and have quickly and efficiently risen to the occasion of educating during the pandemic. And to my original point, they are the most affordable private school in town and we wouldn't dream of taking our daughter anywhere else.
