They clear the food faster than a sonic boom!

As a 6'1" man, I have to maneuver myself in the bathroom but I manage as I am a man after all. The breakfast! Oh fuck! So great. Recently the place was renovated and turned into a luxury hotel. The setting is wonderful at the edge of the Svendborg Sund / by the water. The rooms are good sized (by Danish Standards) and have free Wifi. The place has a really fantastic kitchen. We had individual small plates for breakfast. We had 2 courses for lunch and 3 course meals at dinner with really good wine. The food is top notch and very tasty. There is also a small bar and great facilities to hang-out. In a neighboring building they have meeting facilities. The coffee / tea was not fantastic for the meeting, but the rest was wonderful and at a very reasonable price.

They have been at the forefront at all times and worked very hard to please us and make this wedding a once in a lifetime experience. Everybody walked the extra mile for us. The hotel Stella Maris is absolutely wonderful. It is a very charming, lovely and stylish boutique hotel with a very good eye for the details. The rooms are kept in a very nice Scandinavian interior design. From most of the rooms and the terrace you can see the Svendbørg sund and it gives you the feeling of being right by the sea. The restaurant and the food is fantastic and sustainable. The ingredients are very local or being delivered from the island Vejrø where they grow vegetables, pork, eggs etc. that are being used in the cuisine. Some of our guests mentioned that this was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Also the a l a carte menu is excellent. We have not had a single menu that wasn't great. Also if you have time we would also recommend you to visit Vejrø, stay over in the lovely rooms and eat at the skipperly. There you can see and experience how the ingredients are being grown and kept. If you plan your wedding or just want to stay for a romantic weekend escape and want a wonderful hotel in a great location with competent, experienced, service oriented staff and fantastic local food - go there! We would do it any time again.

While it has 33 rooms- know that the front desk staff may also be serving you your dinner, renting you a bike or even making you a drink as they do everything with a small staff here. The room I had was a double and faced the patio out front. No air conditioning but the windows open to let in the sea breezes and you may be able together a small fan from the front desk if they have any available. The beds are comfortable , Internet is free, and there was even a couch and sitting area along with a desk in the room I had. A delicious breakfast is also included in your rate with eggs and bacon, breads, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and individual coffee pots you can take to your table. The bathroom while small, had good water pressure but be careful of the step. The tile looks flat but there was a step down to the shower that fooled me every time!! On one of the nights I was there - the owner and her mother cooked a beautiful pork roast dinner for our group of 18 complete with salad, glazed potatoes, and a kind of "fruit soup" for dessert served with heavy cream that was out of this world!. You can rent bikes for the day from the front desk which is a great way to see AEros. Just find the bike out front that you want, look for the number on it and ask for the key at the desk. The cost is about 150 dk per day. I loved that they have a patio out front where you can sit and have drinks, or even take your breakfast outside. And the location is just up from the ferry landing and close to the grocery store and most if the restaurants on the island. And if you want to rent a private cottage for your family- they have a number of those available as well. A great choice is you find yourself on AEros island!!

We really enjoyed the breakfast, which is just like the hotel, simple but very good quality. We liked that there is a large pitcher of orange juice and a big thermos of coffee on each table. The rolls are excellent quality and the cheese is delicious. I would go back just for those rolls. I wish we could get them back home. The guy who runs the place is very friendly. Overall it was a good stay and we would return.

They kindly helped us organise our visit at Egeskov castle. Breakfast is very diversified, we were able to eat a different breakfast every day. Note that breakfast ends at 9:30 which is a little early but still. I used the laundry service, and I thought it was quite pricy, but I guess laundry service is pricy in every hotel (and it was still 4 times cheaper than in Norway). The hotel is close to the train station, and near restaurants and parks. I highly recommend.

Friendly staff that are good at what they do (except two small incidents with two not-that-customer-friendly employees). The restaurant offers good food, great wine, nice atmosphere, and an amazing view. Hesselet is not totally over the top amazing. But it's a nice place to invite your significant other and spend a night or two. Just be prepared to pay 1000+ kr per person for a nice meal w. Wine in the restaurant and around 1400 kr per night.

A real nice room, access to kitchen and bathroom, more than 100 channels on the flatscreen TV for less than 500 DKK per night is a sweet deal!! And if you opt for the breakfast deal you will not regret. Only 50 DKK per person is a steal:-D. See pictures if you're not convinced:-). The best part is that Billesgade B&B is situated a mere 7 minute walk from the city centre. P.S. Look out for the Danish bikers. They do not brake for anyone:-(

Only downside is that the walls are thin, so even if your neighbours are quiet, you may still wake up if they use the bathroom at nighttime. This of course because you have a tendency to sleep lightly the first couple of nights you stay at a new place. But indeed not something to complain about. It is just what it is. But overall a very good place to spend the night, close to the centre, free parking if you are traveling by car and cheap. Highly recommended.
