Words cannot describe how amazing my experience was with Scalp Micro USA at their LA location! I flew in from Oahu Hawaii and received the best hands on training for Scalp Micro Pigmentation and ultimately earned my certification. The quality and professionalism of both the head trainer Derek Bogner and lead practitioner Brad Bohannon was top notch, making for a fun and educational training. Mahalo for everything!!! I finally made the decision to have this procedure again after having previous work done at another location. I was not happy with the outcome and was referred to Derik by a client. I had a great consultation with him and trusted he would be the go to for the job.. I only wish, like many others, that I had moved forward with it long ago! The outcome is everything I wanted and I can't thank Derik enough! If you want this procedure done right the first time, Derik is 100% the man for you! Set yourself up for a new lease on life and go see Derik! read more

This was the worst experience i have ever had. Brad was inattentive unprofessional with a major attitude . Not even a hello , he shows up 5mins late to the appointment , no acknowledgement whatsoever. He wanted to do my whole head , when I said that to start i just wanted to cover a couple of scars that I have, he must've didn't like. Each scar is approximately 3inch. He charged me $2000 to supposedly cover them a bit. Each session was less than 30mins .. $2000.. for a terrible terrible job. ... The worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more

I"ve always said if I had hair, I would rock a buzz cut; well, now I can! Derek is the best, a true pro, and an artist at what he does. Everything was super simple when it came to booking and procedures. I came into the process without expectations in case I was let down. After three procedures (which is the norm), I'm pleased. It's been over 20 years since I saw a hairline in the mirror. The process is very gradual, which is a good way to ease into a new look without people being shocked when they see you. Most people think I have new glasses. I tell people I'm not shaving as often. Pricing is very reasonable compared to other options. Great company. read more

Like a pigeon drinking water...... that's how I describe myself every time I looked in the mirror before Smp. 16 years of my life I was insecure, low self esteem, and just wasn't comfortable looking in the mirror at All. Hats were my go to crutch for many years, they become you because I wasn't confident enough with my image. I can ramble for hours about my baldness but I won't because we all have the same stores. My life changed when I first googled smp and saw real life super hero's that had smp them selves. Greeted by Denise ( hope I spelled it Right ) as soon as I walked in, then was greeted by maybe 8 other people which at that point I knew I was in the right place. Out of nowhere captain America ( Derek Bogner) comes out and lays it all down the right way. Laughs and convo through out the day again I knew this was the place. 1st session I took a beating, 2nd session I took a pounding but it was all worth it. It's destination was way worth the drive I'll tell you that much. A keep me emerged out of there today, Derek brought back my youth and my confident self in a matter of probably 6 hours of knowing one another. Water self esteem and watch confidence grow into something amazing. I am happy I came here and I give them 1 million stars, pure perfection in my eyes , definitely life savers and changers. I'm still a pigeon but I can at least enjoy sipping the water now. GOD BLESS everyone at SCALP USA read more

Without doubt one of the best places in LA to go for SMP. Derek (artist) and Alex (receptionist) were both professional and friendly. Nothing about the process felt off; I felt like I was in good hands from start to finish which is definitely what I wanted because I was skeptical about everything. Had two sessions done and the results are fantastic! I was really impressed by how well it blends and it was evident that Derek clearly knows what he's doing and was very experienced. I told him what I was looking for and he created the hairline and later adjusted it to my preferences. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone considering getting it done to just schedule a consult and see for yourself what it's all about. You won't be disappointed. Thanks Derek and Alex for treating me like fam and taking such good care of me !! read more

Years after going bald, attending family functions, I found out that one of my cousins had SMP done. All this time I thought he had hair but just liked the buzz cut. So I decided to look into SMP. I'm the type of guy that has to do a ton of research before I do anything. I'm very particular and a perfectionist. Just researching and seeing all of these smp artist's work.. (they're all great).. But when I saw Derek's work.. It just blew my mind. His knowledge and all the details were amazing. Since he was located in LA and I was in New Orleans.. I went on with my research to see if there were anybody as good that was closer to me and comparing their work to Derek's work. Derek was just a no brainer. This is your image that you'll see everyday! People from other countries fly in to get work done by him! His work speaks for itself! After my second session, I felt that confidence again.. new hairline new me!! I can keep going on and on but I won't lol Plus, Derek is a cool dude.. great conversations! Book your SMP with him!! read more

What can I say, this procedure was life changing for me. I started losing my hair at a young age (young 20s) and part of my confidence along with that. I had embraced being bald because I felt there were no other options for my head. In my early twenties I had very thin hair and decided that hair transplant was the option for me. It was very expensive and only bought me a few years before my hair began to thin again. I decided to shave my head but this exposed the large scar on the back of my head from the hair transplant. I would joke around with people when they asked what caused the scar. My answer was usually, "I had brain surgery," before telling them that I had a hair transplant. I started looking into SMP (Scalp Micro Pigmentation) earlier this year. After looking at photos of all the SMP studios in Southern California, I noticed a significant quality difference between Scalp Micro USA and every other studio. The quality of work completed at Scalp Micro USA is the only reason I decided to move forward on booking. Derek was my artist and I cannot be more happy with the result. I looked forward to both my sessions and had a great time talking with both Brad and Derek during my appointments. Both Derek and Brad do amazing work. Their studio is an awesome place to sit back, chat, have a drink of tequila and change your image for the better. I don't want to wear hats anymore because I want to show off my head and how cool it looks now. read more

The entire team were great. I researched SMP for a long time, interviewed many artist but Derek Bogner at Scalp Micro USA, Los Angeles and his staff stood out among all the rest. Regarding the final outcome of my procedure, I never imagined it the end results would come to great. I only wished I had done this much much sooner. I had 3 sessions but stopped wearing a hat after the very first session. Yelp's star system is not enough. 10 stars for Scalp Micro USA, Los Angele. Warren Verrette. read more

Wow. Just finished my second and final session this past Friday. I am 100% glad that I went through with this and I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking to have a hairline again. My hair loss began around age 18 and I've shaved my head for almost 20 years now. I like being bald, but I have always hated my hairline. For me personally, I've felt self-conscious about it because it's apparent that I don't have a choice. I must shave my head because of my hair loss. For almost 10 years now, I have wanted to do something about it, but my greatest fear is paying for a procedure that doesn't work, looks bad, etc. This year, I decided to make a change in my life and do something about this issue since it continues to bother me. How did I find S.M.USA? I started looking for the absolute best of the best and their reviews, appearances in Men's Health Magazine, and Youtube videos gave me to confidence to trust them. Until I actually arrived at the shop, I was still skeptical. With photoshop, you cannot truly trust anything that you see online. Again, I had to rely on the collection of sources that all said that this team is the best. Ultimately, happy does not begin to describe how I feel about my new hairline. This is genuinely life changing for me. I am truly grateful for Derek putting in so much effort to making my new hairline look completely natural and better than I could have hoped for. For most of my reviews, I try to offer any cons that I see. The only one is that this procedure is expensive. That said, you get what you pay for. If you want to make sure that you get the job done right, this is the place. Derek: Thank you so much again for what you have done to have a positive impact on my life. I truly appreciate it. -Matt read more

I went to the MDR office and completed two sessions under the care of Jesus. He took great care in hiding my follicle hair transplant strip scars i incurred 20+ years ago; they were long and visible from six feet away. I am done with wearing a hairpiece for 30 years and all the hassle that comes with it: tape, washing, dying the piece, lining it up right every day, etc. For anyone undergoing hair transplants: it is not worth all the scars in the long run, as eventually it will all go away. You only have so much hair to take from one place and plug into another place. If I knew now what I knew back in the mid 90's, I would have just shaved all my hair off. Scalp micropigmentation is the best way to cover those past mistakes, and Scalp Micro USA is the place to go to. read more

I have not met Derek B. at Scalp Mirco USA personally, but I feel I owe him my sincerest gratitude. He changed my husband's life (@Bill S) which in turn changed our lives. My husband has always been an advocate and a prime example of wellness, good health and good looks but one thing has always discouraged him - his hair loss. He constantly felt the need to shave his head so that the stubble did not elevate the baldness. For years, he contemplated what to do but never did anything out of fear that it might turn out bad. He, instead, covered it up with hats. When he met Derek, he came home saying "this is it!" Best decision he has made! Derek is so talented and knows exactly what is needed to be done to make it look natural and beautiful. Derek, thank you, for making my husband so happy. read more

I don't know where to begin, Derek B has changed my life. I have been shaving my head for 20 years now. I lost my hair when I was 20 years old and it wrecked me emotionally and mentally. It had depressed me so much! I was referred to Derek by my cousins who did a consult with Derek and were immediately sold on his skill set and personality. I finally grew the courage to give this a shot after Derek reassured me on the results. He knew exactly what was going to happen. From the consult to the results, this man was spot on! My results are phenomenal. He has given me a whole new confidence that I never thought would come back. Ive been wearing hats for many years, just concealing my hairline and crown area. This is the first time in twenty years I feel so good to walk around knowing that my youth and confidence is restored. My wife, family, and kid all see the change in my attitude and life. I owe Derek and Scalp Micro USA all the praise in appreciation for the outstanding outcome that I received from this life changing procedure. read more
