When the AAA adjuster arrived, he used a moisture meter and claimed there was "no moisture in the walls," suggesting we could simply redo the garage and upstairs, paint the downstairs, and settle the claim in a week. I knew this was completely inadequate -- the fire department had sprayed over 10,000 gallons of water into the attic, and the house was not safe to re-rent. I left the meeting feeling defeated.
