We had the chicken marsala over angel hair and a house salad. The chicken marsala was cooked just right with the mushrooms and marsala sauce coating the pasta just right. The NFL playoffs were going on so we sat in the bar and watched the game, but we could hear Frank Sinatra gently singing a Summers Rain in the main dining area. Christie our waitress was very attentive and helped us pick out our dish. We finished with a tiramisu and double espresso. did I mention the portions are very large an overall great dining experience and the next time we're in town will be paying them a visit.

Plus, on more than one occasion Diane and I had previously arrived here around 8:30 p.m. and were warmly greeted, seated, and enjoyed our ordered meals. But this Sunday night two days after Halloween, after we had crossed the Colorado River on the Don Laughlin Bridge and had driven for half an hour from our home in Laughlin, we arrived at 8:25 p.m. only to find the restaurant dark and locked, with nobody inside. Granted this was the first day of a time change in California and Nevada from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time. But this circumstance should have had no effect on Arizona, whose time zone remained the same as the day before. Disappointed, we went in search of another place to eat dinner, and after encountering the kitchen staff of China Panda in the restaurant's parking lot about to leave for home half an hour earlier than its posted closing hour, finally wound up at reliable Black Bear Diner. We were the only patrons seated in the entire capacious restaurant until a few other people walked inside about 15 minutes later This spooky night felt like Halloween, but the tricks and added hunger we experienced occurred just a bit later.

We were passing through on our way to Las Vegas after a long day exploring the Grand Canyon, tired, hungry, and hoping to find a genuinely good meal. Thanks to Yelp (my trusted food bible), we discovered this charming little Italian spot that exceeded every expectation. From the moment we walked in, the ambience and cozy, festive atmosphere felt perfect for the holiday season. The staff were welcoming and the setting was intimate! I ordered the salmon, and it was absolutely perfect--beautifully prepared with accompaniments. My family of four each chose something different, and while I can't recall every dish, I do remember the unanimous reaction: **everyone loved their meal**. It's rare to find a restaurant where every plate at the table is a hit, but Mattina's delivered. This delightful, delicious, and quaint Italian restaurant turned an ordinary stop into a memorable part of our trip. I'm already looking forward to the day we can return. **Highly recommended for anyone passing through Kingman--or even worth a detour.**

Mattina's was a pleasant surprise and overall a very enjoyable dining experience…read more The atmosphere was nice and about what you'd expect for the area. Nothing overly fancy, but comfortable and inviting. The bread was fine--good enough, though not something I'd make a special trip for. They didn't have the wine I originally wanted, but their staff quickly recommended a comparable alternative. Their wine selection is actually quite respectable. Our server was outstanding. Attentive without being intrusive, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure we had a good experience. My one notable complaint has nothing to do with the food. We were seated near the kitchen, which normally wouldn't bother me at all. However, one of the hostesses wore a very strong perfume. Every few minutes the scent would drift by and completely overpower the aromas from the meal. It wasn't an unpleasant fragrance, but when dining, the aroma of the food is part of the experience, and it became distracting. We started with the Caprese salad, which was excellent and properly prepared. The mozzarella was so good I actually asked if it was house-made. It wasn't, but it certainly tasted like it could have been. My wife and I split the chicken piccata. The chicken itself was perfectly cooked, and the seasonal asparagus was fantastic. If I'm being exceptionally critical, the piccata sauce was slightly thicker than I prefer and leaned a bit too heavily on the lemon. The extra acidity overshadowed the capers somewhat. Likewise, I was a little disappointed to learn the pasta was not house-made and arrived slightly past al dente. These are admittedly minor critiques and the sort of details most diners probably wouldn't notice or care about. Dessert sealed the deal. The homemade key lime pie was outstanding. The filling had a fantastic balance of tartness and sweetness with a smooth, creamy texture that was clearly made in-house. I even verified that with our server. It was a home run and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The fact that I'm discussing details like sauce balance and pasta texture should tell you that the overall meal was very good. The strengths far outweighed the shortcomings. Excellent service, several standout dishes, and a dining experience I'd happily recommend. We'll definitely return the next time we're in Kingman.

I decided to try their Meatball Sub in a Large, which came with French fries. I already knew from ordering spaghetti a few Vito's dinners ago that their meatballs and sauce were delicious. It was exactly what a meatball sub was made to be, the tasty meatballs paired perfectly with the fresh sauce, all between fresh, lightly toasted bread. I will have to get this again. When I entered, I was sat down immediately and within a few minutes was asked my drink. Reminder that there was a full house inside. The waitress Tiffany was very kind and convinced me about my decision to get the meatball sub, which I now appreciate. She had my soda out very fast, and she did a great job. Inside was very nice. It was comfortable all around, with some of those beautiful paintings and one of those funny little fat chef sculptures you might see elsewhere. They had the AC to a very nice temperature, and I had no issues at all. Good smells filled the room, and so did large parties of people. Overall, Vito's is one of the best Italian places in Kingman or anywhere close to Kingman. Every meal I've had there was nothing but excellent and rich in flavor. I plan to come back for another amazing meal. Thank you!

One scoop of marinara on bbq pizza apparently is too much on one man's ego. Horrible business practices.

The bread was the talk of the table. Unfortunately, I'm gluten-sensitive, so I had to admire it from afar, but my friends raved about it and continued talking about it for the rest of the trip. It's not complimentary, but according to everyone at the table, it's absolutely worth the price. The standout dish was the lamb quite possibly the best preparation I've ever had. It's one of those dishes you'll find yourself thinking about long after the meal is over. The scallops were also exceptional, perfectly cooked and melt-in-your-mouth tender. They are served on skewers with crostini between each scallop, which my friends loved, though gluten-free diners should be aware. You only get three scallops, but they're memorable. The house-made pasta was solid and showcased the quality and care Mother Wolf is known for. Sadly, we were too full to make it to dessert, but that's just another reason to return. If you're in Las Vegas, Mother Wolf is absolutely worth a visit. Between the incredible food, attentive service, and beautiful atmosphere, it feels like a quick trip to Rome. I've heard wonderful things about their Los Angeles location as well, and after this meal, it's definitely on my list.

The first problem, the waitress was not very attentive, when she took our order, she forgot to bring our drinks, so we had to remind her when she brought our food. The second problem, the food was terrible. Mother ordered lasagna, I got the Alfredo. Her lasagna tasted terrible, like someone had mixed barbecue sauce into the marinara. My Alfredo's sauce was way too oily, due most likely due to having too much butter. Third problem, drinks. The water tasted like it came from the tap, mother's water did not have any ice, and her Raspberry Tea was warm. Fourth problem, the cook was more focused on the ball game than actually cooking food. Fifth problem, the menus are not up to date, mother wanted Diet Dr Pepper as it said in the menu but the waitress said they didn't have that anymore.
