Great and accommodating. My son was nervous and they made him feel confident to come back and attend a big class.

I couldn't be happier with Master Hills Martial Arts…read more Master Hill and Tiger Moe are two amazing people. They really know how to work with their students so they get the most out their classes. They are very patient with children and also provide a fun environment for them to learn and socialize with other children. My son attends the red dragons classes (Mon, Wed, and Sat) and they are very reasonably spaced out throughout the week so that he fully grasp what he is learning in his classes. So far he has taken four classes and I noticed he has really been focused on doing better in karate and he is interested in continuing. He really enjoys the interaction between the instructors and being able to have fun learning karate. Also offered is cardio kickboxing, which is done while my son attends his class so we both are getting our workout on! And they have workout machines if you would like to workout while your child is in his or her class. There are also classes for older children and adults. I am thinking about a self defense class for myself. Overall excellent place, with excellent instructors. You will not be disappointed!

They take pride in teaching "intellectual" martial arts with children. I was too busy watching The classes to take a lot of pictures but I will upload later. The studio is very clean and tidy. They have water and snacks and juices For guests and folks in between classes. Classes are offered from four years old all the way to senior. I was also pleased to see that they offer a pay by session kickboxing class for women. It's a great way to get in shape and get some discipline and focus at the same time. Give them a call and get kickin in 2020!

But I'm not going to lie I was a little intimidated taking a class when I watch their videos on Instagram. But a couple of days ago. I said to myself life is to short. What the heck! Just go for it. I didn't want to go alone. So I bought my little brother along with me. If you want to take a free intro class just go online to their website and sign up. The intro class is so worth it to actually see what it's all about. I've seen kickboxing on lifetime shows. But let me tell you. It's nothing like what you see on TV and how easy actors and actresses make it seem. It was a serious WORKOUT!!! But a great workout! At one point I did feel a little light headed. And thought I was going to pass the hell out. Lol! Smh! I look over at my little brother like helpppp!!! Lol! I couldn't make it to my water. So I just leaned on the wall to take some deep breaths. I couldn't go out like that and pass out on my first day. Everyone motivates each other. No one judges each other. I loved that! You don't find that at most places. Wow those women and men had me all pump up! I'm trying to be fit this winter just like them! The membership prices weren't to bad too. They also have punch cards for a certain amounts of classes too. I'm not going to share all the juice. Cause what you need to do at this very moment. Yes you can do it!!! Go and sign up for their intro class to see what it's all about. Its super worth it! Then you can go from there!!!

Pretty good gym, but i've never see the owners/main trainer not even once in my time thereread more

The instructors are highly disciplined and professional at all times. The staff take their time to ensure that students and their families stay informed about policies and feel comfortable at all times. There is no push for students to advance faster than they feel comfortable. I love the different class times that are available and the breakdown of age groups. You will enjoy the family environment. It is a multicultural learning experience that my family has enjoyed fir decades.

Our daughter started attending classes at Tiger Academy Martial Arts approximately 2-3 months ago…read more It was a decision that came with a lot of deliberation. We have had some incidences on the bus, some things at school, some things at aftercare. All things that definitely upset me as a parent. Things that made me just want to shrink myself and put myself into her pocket so I could pop out when necessary. I know that's just not possible. After these Incidents we talked to officials at all places. They try their best at all these places. Unfortunately they just cannot be everywhere all the time to keep other children from acting like arses. Witty comebacks and telling the teachers, officials etc is just not enough in today's climate. We came and checked out Tiger Academy of Martial Arts. Staff is super pleasant and attentive. We did the two week trial. We watched the classes and talked to our daughter. We decided to sign up for classes. A couple of weeks ago an incident happened at school during lunch. Two children (one a play date friend) one a classmate. One pushed her. One was talking rude and accusing her of cheating at thr game they were playing. Let me tell you what happened: She not stood her ground. She calmly spoke to both children. She called the one on his language and cheating accusations. Calling him on havingngame rules he told no one. She calmly talked to her friend who pushed her and told her flat out. Not to touch her physically because no one has the right to do that to anyone. What happened was a shock to me. Both children actually responded in a positive manner. They were all able to move forward. When she came home and told me about the incident I have never been more proud of her. She told me that stood up for herself because of Tiger Martial Arts. She said what she learns in class helped her feel confident enough to handle the moment. Between the student creed, classes the amazing Sensei's and staff , home practice and friendship and family atmosphere, we have definitely landed in the right place. What our daughter was able to do in the moment rl is priceless. It's a step towards a positive correct direction of not taking any shit off anyone. I highly recommend checking them out. It could change your kids life.

This is a place that I've driven past a million times and always sort of meant to give a chance…read more This week I took my four-year-old to an open trial class they offered (fantastic idea) and we had a blast. As an open class sort of affair, there were a lot of kids in different age groups and skill levels. The instructors immediately noticed my very intimidated little one and worked to make him feel welcome and capable. He tried to keep up, broke down in tears once or twice about how hard it was, but kept trying thanks largely to the encouragement of the other kids and wonderful instructors. He made it to the end of the class and reported that he had a great time. He was drawn to a large trophy, was daunted by the idea of having to earn it over lots of time and effort. Yeah, I think this will be good. I did martial arts when I was younger and appreciate the value they have in terms of teaching discipline, self control and confidence. This place is great. There are different classes for different skill levels, meaning if you're interested at all there's probably something for you. I'm not sure if we have the opportunity to sign up at this moment or if we'll have to wait and do it later, but I'm definitely excited to do this again.

They don't just teach skills, they pour love and encouragement into each child. When my son first started, he struggled with confidence, staying focused, and even with friendships at times. In just a year, we've seen such a beautiful change. Now he speaks with confidence, looks people in the eye, shows respect, and has grown into a real leader among his friends. What means the most to me is how the staff supports him when things get tough. They always lift him up and remind him that he can do hard things. That kind of encouragement makes all the difference. I would recommend this location to any family. Mr. Hunter and Coach Alicia are absolutely phenomenal. Their dedication to the kids is a true blessing, and it feels like such a breath of fresh air.

We brought our almost-4-year-old in for a test assessment. Unfortunately, the experience was…read moreextremely disappointing. TLDR: they do not know how to work with small children. From the moment we arrived, the interaction felt cold, rigid, and overly abrasive for a nervous preschooler in a brand-new environment. Instructions were delivered very quickly and in a very directive "barking orders" style without any effort to connect with him first, explain the plan, model the expectation, or help him feel comfortable and regulated before expecting immediate compliance. The directions given were too fast and too complex for a small brain to comprehend. At this age, many children need warmth, modeling, repetition, and time to transition into a new setting, especially when they are excited or overwhelmed. I explained multiple times that he takes a little while to warm up and that we are currently in occupational therapy working on regulation, body awareness, and focus. Instead of adjusting their approach or showing more patience, the response remained very rigid and dismissive. There did not seem to be any attempt to build rapport, make him feel safe, or set him up for success. At one point, after I finally helped him complete the task they wanted him to do, we were told that wouldn't count because he followed the directions from me and not the instructor. After expressing frustration with the instructor, I was then passed to another instructor, and that interaction unfortunately felt even more uncomfortable. His tone, facial expressions, and questioning came across as condescending, smug, and unwilling to help rather than collaborative or supportive. I completely understand that martial arts requires structure and discipline, and I was not expecting chaos or unlimited flexibility. However, there is a difference between structure and a lack of patience, warmth, and age-appropriate communication. Young children, especially those still developing regulation and body awareness, need instructors who know how to connect with them before expecting perfect compliance. The overall experience left me feeling deeply uncomfortable. The instructors' demeanor toward my child felt harsh, impatient, and completely lacking in warmth or understanding for his age and developmental stage. I walked away feeling that this was not an environment where my child would be emotionally supported or set up for success.
