You have…read moreto drive through a small town with narrow streets to get to the property, but from the moment they open the gates to the Villa you feel like you got transported to an ancient Roman garden. The Villa itself looks historical and surreal. The property is very big and will take your breath away-beautiful flowers, lash grass, old trees-all surrounded by old little buildings, structures, ponds and statues. The location is perfect- right on the lake with it's own jetty and beach. The hotel has several bars and restaurants. We tried them all and both the decor and the food were absolutely the best. The complimentary breakfast buffet had the true five star selection-berries and tropical fruit, large selection of honey, cheeses, yoghurt and dozens of freshly baked pastries; not to mention the delicious coffee. The lunches and dinners were expectedly pricey but also very delicious. The room overlooked the lake and you could also see the Sirmion Castle towers. The customer service was top notch. The private parking was very convenient and they provided shuttle service into town or throughout the property. We will definitely be back.

Without a doubt one of the best hotels in the entire of Italy (Well Lake Garda at…read moreleast) Nestled right at the tip of Sirmione overlooking the lake is the picturesque historical and unforgettable Villa Cortine. It is most likely my favorite hotel in the entire world. Luxurious and reminiscent of times past, the Villa Cortine will sweep you off your feet with it's romantic gardens and waterfalls, precious buildings and beautiful rooms. None others compare to this. The decor is beyond breathtaking with painstakingly created murals, authentic roman statues and gilded chairs. The piano player is delightful and everything about this hotel will make you feel like a participant in a fairy tale. Their breakfast buffets are also amazing. The hungry kitten says: Do not forget to feed the little birds at breakfast, they will hop onto your table and sing to you!

There are so many gluten free options on the menu my daughter and i ate here exclusively during our stay. The staff are trained to perfection. The spa is wonderful and we had massages and waxing, as well as spent most of a day in the thermal pool, delightful steam and sauna etc. We are celiac and cannot eat gluten. This is my new favorite summer vacation spot! We will return next year certainly.

Everything is pretty much as advertised and/or expected: lake view room actually has the lake view, beds are pretty good (on the firmer side), breakfast is also good, in the evening the on-premises restaurant serves robust if uninspiring dinner. I did not try the spa. Some logistics: 1) To reach the hotel, you will have to drive through a maze of very narrow and winding streets, this course is gated with the guard checking your name against the hotel guest list. While driving, few times you will wish that you car is smaller and shorter; a good navigator will come especially handy, as some streets are one-way or impassable for cars - but not clearly marked as such. Red/green traffic lights mark the (short) one-way passages, at night the lights blink yellow allowing to cautiously proceed. Getting out of the hotel in a car will take up to 15 minutes to the nearest major road, depending on the tourist crowds that share the streets with you, and will not be possible at all during the daytime on weekends. Couple this with the limited parking at the hotel and the choice of walking becomes very enticing. 2) At the breakfast time, be assertive with the waiters in order to get your coffee/tea in a reasonable amount of time.

The price is reasonable considering you are in a prime location. We took the train from Bolzano Italy and walked from the train station to the hotel, though I wouldnt recommend this if your bag doesnt have wheels. Its also a 2 hour train ride from Venice. I did not have the breakfast or eat at the restaurant, so I have nothing to offer you there. We did, upon arrival, receive Easter bread and a glass of wine. Nice touch!

Upon arrival, we noticed a few discrepancies between the description of the hotel on the BOOKING page and the reality. For example, instead of the promised view of the pool from the window of the room, we got a pedestrian path at a distance less than half a foot from the window. Passersby had a beautiful view of our bed. We are not exhibitionists, so we had to keep the window tightly closed shutters. So, we'd got a room without a window. The drink that was called the coffee was tastless. I omit some other minor shortcomings which together spoiled the vacation mood. After 6 days we decided to leave the hotel. Based on the BOOKING.com information about the rules of early termination of stay "how not to pay a fine", we informed our intention of the hostess 3 days before the expected departure. We were unpleasantly surprised to hear that the landlady requires a fine of 170 euros without giving any evidence of the legitimacy of such a fine. So, we would say that 4Olives is no more then two stars hotel September 7 2018 Ivan and Nataliya Abbiamo prenotato una camera presso l'hotel 4 Olivi Pescatore Italy attraverso il sito web della Buking Company il 2 settembre 2018.
The Casimiro sits right beside the lake in Portese (Considered to be a very romantic part of lake…read moreGarda), and the port of Portese. Reception on arrival was very friendly and helpful. If you want to travel around the lake, the best way is by ferry, but unfortunately for the hotel, Ferries run from the port very rarely. The accommodation is very well kept with nothing to complain about apart from the size of the bin in the room. Also, the public rooms of the hotel are just as well kept and are easy to get around. Service is excellent. Staff are very friendly and speak good English. The bar staff pride themselves in there service and if there is a drink you would like that isn't on the menu they will be willing to attempt to make it. We had a very interesting white Russian (Made incorrectly but still very close in taste). Meals are buffet style and usually there is a lot of variety. Wine is on tap, as well as fizzy drinks and soda water. There is plenty of seating and great views accross the lake (But somewhat restricted). the hotel has disabled access with a lift. There are 2 outdoor pools that are well kept and an indoor pool. The hotel run a strange opening time on the pools which are open in the morning, close mid day and don't reopen again until 15:00. There is a sauna and Turkish bath which I did not try but when I went to enquire, nobody was manning the desk (this is a separate desk to reception). The brochure stated that there was a beach with this hotel. Technically there is a beach, but most of the time (Depending on tide) this is mostly covered. The most of a beach I saw was about a metre long and was entirely pebbles and very slippy stones further out (I wouldn't personally call it safe). Overall I had a great experience staying in the Casimiro. There are some amazing views and some very interesting places to visit, with markets in the area's around the lake, Water sports (But these are mainly concentrated at the very top of the lake), plenty of castles and culture. I only give it 4 stars because of the lack of ferries and the pool timings.

Once inside though, this place is old school elegant looking with a very nice high ceilinged sitting area just off the lobby and a great little semi hidden bar area. Rooms are average size but with all the modern amenities such as an in room safe, fridge, TV, nice bathroom, full length mirror and even a small balcony. There are other nice touches in the room as well including wainscoting and some elegant details in the paint or wallpaper. Windows are double pane and do a solid job at absorbing sound and they even have the ubiquitous roll down European shutters if you want total privacy. In our room we appreciated the latter two as we were on the 1st floor (2nd floor in the US) and the alleyway/driveway was just below us. It wasn't terribly noisy but it is a minor pedestrian traffic corridor and supply/delivery trucks arrive fairly early and use the passageway. A higher floor room would definitely mitigate that as an issue so if you're a light/late sleeper maybe request something higher up. It appears that there used to be a Scottish pub right across the alley but it seems shuttered now (summer 2018) that could be a plus or minus depending on your bent . Staff are top notch here and the front counter folks we dealt with were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They all seemed to speak at least 3 languages (Italian, German and English) very well and were always very happy to help or accommodate any need we had however big or small. Overall this is quite a nice place and fairly centrally located near plenty of other places and things to see in Verona. I would definitely stay here again and I recommend it highly.
