We are on a bottom floor overlooking the parking lot. My husband complained and the said there is a mountain way up in the background. This is like a holiday inn at best. There is an indoor pool and a beautiful outdoor pool but the room is very disappointing for $300 Euro per night. The pool and grounds are beautiful and the complimentary breakfast was good. The servers have an attitude and make you feel like "how dare you ask for a cappuccino?". The bartender William was awesome though. Most of the front desk personnel were not so friendly if you needed assistance. I forgot to mention if you need sunscreen, a regular size tube is a whopping 40 euros.....they know how to get you. All in all Bardolino was lovely and the hotel had good and bad parts. For the rate per night, there are better choices.

The Hotel is located very close to the Lago and has a nice pool. BUT the room was very old fashion…read more(90s style) and without a balcony. They buit a third bed out of a couch for us. It was not possible to sleep in that old, hard, unclean thing. It was horrible to find a parking place. The hotel one was to full and arround was no free and legal one to find. The "free" internet works only for 3 hours. Everything is without any love. At breakfast you felt like an animal in feed. Only bulk products, watery orange juice and tinned fruit. It was one of my worst stay in a european 4-stars Hotel.
Good clean hotel…read more Rooms quite modern look like they have been recently renovated. Only negative was the safe which was quite small and in the bottom of the wardrobe. Old style so you need to carry a key all the time and location makes it difficult to get in to ( I dropped the lid on my hand twice during the week). Rest of room good standard though. Aircon works well which is essential for the summer. TV only has news channels in English but never really found the time to watch it. Free wifi but from reception only. Drinks quite expensive EUR5 for a large beer, Supermarket nearby and minibar to keep drinks cool. Good location, easy walk along promenade into Bardolino. Some nice walks along the seafront to Lasise or Garda or hire a bike and cycle further. Use of the Mirabell lido across the promenade allows you to use a lilo near the lake free of charge and swim in the lake. Drinks cheaper there too. Nice large outdoor swimming pool for summer and smaller indoor one for winter. Gym looked good with modern equipment but did not use it. Restaurants have limited opening times so not a lot of flexibility when eating for dinner Limited vegetarian options not available in the Gourmet restaurant. Lunch good at grill bar so recommend swapping dinner for lunch which you can do if on half board then eat out for dinner. Staff friendly All in all recommended

Hands down, we would put Locanda San Vigilio at the top of our favorite places to stay AND eat. The hotel has been in the same family for over 500 years, always a hotel and if our experience is evidence of the hospitality, always wonderful. The location could not be better as it is perched on a point, surrounded by water on three sides, on Lake Garda. Beautiful. The service is impeccable. We were greeted by the current owner/manager who welcomed us in the parking lot and escorted us to reception where all details were handled with efficiency and a smile. It made no difference who we encountered the interaction was always friendly. Imagine the best meal you have ever enjoyed, now double it. That was our experience in the restaurant. They have set my new standard for pasta, there is no way to describe how delicate my ravioli was, sublime. When we left I felt like we were leaving family behind. I would return in a heartbeat.

The garden and pool area is landscaped beautifully. The pool is large, even if a little chilly. The hotel rooms are good sized and well appointed, The morning breakfast buffet (included in the room charge) is exceptional, with a great selection of fruits, cheeses, meats, juices, pastries, etc. The only negative is that the elevator stops between floors, so that you are always required to walk a flight of stairs. The Casimiro sits right beside the lake in Portese (Considered to be a very romantic part of lake…read moreGarda), and the port of Portese. Reception on arrival was very friendly and helpful. If you want to travel around the lake, the best way is by ferry, but unfortunately for the hotel, Ferries run from the port very rarely. The accommodation is very well kept with nothing to complain about apart from the size of the bin in the room. Also, the public rooms of the hotel are just as well kept and are easy to get around. Service is excellent. Staff are very friendly and speak good English. The bar staff pride themselves in there service and if there is a drink you would like that isn't on the menu they will be willing to attempt to make it. We had a very interesting white Russian (Made incorrectly but still very close in taste). Meals are buffet style and usually there is a lot of variety. Wine is on tap, as well as fizzy drinks and soda water. There is plenty of seating and great views accross the lake (But somewhat restricted). the hotel has disabled access with a lift. There are 2 outdoor pools that are well kept and an indoor pool. The hotel run a strange opening time on the pools which are open in the morning, close mid day and don't reopen again until 15:00. There is a sauna and Turkish bath which I did not try but when I went to enquire, nobody was manning the desk (this is a separate desk to reception). The brochure stated that there was a beach with this hotel. Technically there is a beach, but most of the time (Depending on tide) this is mostly covered. The most of a beach I saw was about a metre long and was entirely pebbles and very slippy stones further out (I wouldn't personally call it safe). Overall I had a great experience staying in the Casimiro. There are some amazing views and some very interesting places to visit, with markets in the area's around the lake, Water sports (But these are mainly concentrated at the very top of the lake), plenty of castles and culture. I only give it 4 stars because of the lack of ferries and the pool timings.
