Another trip to CT landed me at Savin Rock Beach. Very pretty location. There is a nice divided walkway with a bike lane as well. Many gorgeous pictures to be taken here. As you come to the end (or beginning depending on which direction you started) of the trail/walkway there is a nice park for the kiddos. Slides, monkey bars/jungle gym. There is a parking fee if you aren't a resident. read more

This is a beach in West Haven. There was once a huge amusement park here, but it closed down in the 1960s. There's a walkway along the shore, and a bike area. It's very clean. If you don't have a car registered in West Haven, you have to pay to park. The parking cost is $5 per hour or $30 a day, you can only pay by credit card. The each parking lots close 30 min after sunset. read more

Underrated park in West Haven. They say they have a boardwalk, but it is not much of anything. The views of the Long Island Sound are gorgeous, and the sound of the gentle waves crashing along the shore give it a Steve Perry/Roxy Music song feel to it, especially during sunrise and sunset. There are also some really fun businesses lining the beach too, but otherwise it is great to walk and bring your pet on. As someone wrote, it is indeed Mother Nature in all of its glory! read more

Just reminiscing to see if the "Rock" was still there. Long ago days of the amusement park and eateries up and down the Broadwalk. The fun we had, early fiftys, Aps for Apizza, Jimmy's for burgers and Fried Clams, and the list goes on, but can't remember the names. It was wonderful, a teenagers dream. read more

Parking was a little confusing but great beach with a cute boardwalk. It wasn't overly crowded and the beach space was clean. Lots of cute spots for pictures and a much better experience than Lighthouse Point Park. read more

Absolutely beautiful! We came here on a whim, in town for a business meeting, just looking for somewhere to sit out and catch some sun for a couple hours. This was the PERFECT spot!! Plenty of sandy beach area, along w sprawling grass and park benches, large rock overlooking beach area and sand bars (many people came there to take pictures) and a HUGE, LONG, clean boardwalk with beautiful views all along the ocean. Great place families, couples, dog owners and lovers (I got my fix of cute dog go's in!!) for beach and sand, walking, sight seeing, photos, relaxing, lay out a blanket for a picnic- whatever you like, this outdoor park/beach/boardwalk will probably suffice. The only thing I can't speak for is swimming... there were children and adults in the water & out on the sandbars so it must be ok? Did look to have a lot of rocks and maybe shells? Wear swim shoes. Oh, 1 other downfall- I believe there is only a port-a-potty for restroom? I did not see any facilities?? *paid $1.50 per hour in lot to park car. No sticker or beach fees. read more

From the board walk to the gazebo to the park and to Jimmy's. This is the place to be. Just don't swim in the water... On a more serious note, the water is not clear at all, is covered in seaweed, and has no lifeguard. Shells are scattered across the land and if you look long and hard you will discover sea glass (google it for a hobby). Plenty of locals around with boomboxes (yes boomboxes) and car music to add to the scenery. read more

A beautiful place to walk and sight see. I love the board walk. I've walked this beach so many times. The beach is beautiful scenery. I appreciate the scent of the salt water, listening to the waves, seeing the seagulls, and getting my exercise walking the board walk. I'm an active, outdoors type of person, who appreciates nature. I appreciate taking scenic pictures. I love photography. At any season, it's fun to be here. I've come for personal, and I've come to do charities for places I worked at. The best things in life really are free in my opinion, and I enjoy strolling the boardwalk. read more

Wow. We came here for a quiet night at the beach with some pizza and some board games. We were not disappointed. The beach is pretty quiet, but the music coming from the line dances on the boardwalk was a nice background music for games on the beach. The sunset and the view were terrific, and the water was perfect. Overall, an amazing night. I'll be sure to come back! read more

Was hard to park unless you are a resident. Parked on palace street, cost 1.25/hr, 3 hr max. There were bathrooms that is a plus. The water and beach was littered more than what I am used to or like. Tons and tons of shells. Better than average for sea glass. Mostly new glass with some amazing unique finds. Some large pieces of old white and brown. A blue, 2 red and super score a yellow and a large piece of old porcelain. Wear beach shoes. Would not be my first choice but I was nice to get out while in town on business. And there is a 3 mile walking path. read more

The beach very peaceful they have police on the beach all the time sub station love veterans park must visit did a wonderful job there . As for shopping plaza they have a family dollar store a bar and a dunkin dounuts in that area jimmies good place to eat sadly I can no longer have fish or shell fish bummer . read more
