And one of the few place in Bath that stocks it is Space.NK. Space NK is like a department store dedicated solely to lotions, potions and cosmetics and I LOVE it. Granted, 95% of it is completely out of my budget, but it's a great place to window shop. The shop is laid out well with bright white counters and shelves of beautifully decorated packaging. This store in Bath has exceptionally smiley, friendly shop assistant who will listen attentively to find you the best suited products.

Shelf after shelf of beauty products and toiletries stretch from the floor to the ceiling, with everything crammed in so tightly that there's barely room for the aisles. What I like about this store is that if I can't buy something elsewhere, then I can pretty much guarantee that these guys will have it. I also love the fact that I don't recognise over 50% of the products. There are brands here that I've never heard of, and all sorts of stuff that I never even knew existed. Beauty Queen Cosmetics offers the shopper with an anthropological experience as well as the opportunity to indulge in a vanity induced bout of consumerism.

I came in here last October to grab some face paints for my mime Halloween costume. They sell the proper stage makeup branded stuff you find in specialist shops, but for only half the price - it's really great. They also do a lot of stuff by brands I've never heard of - my girlfriend always buys her liquid eyeliner from here - she says it works better than any other brand she's ever tried and it only costs £1.50! It's also a great place for cheap (but not necessarily bad quality) gifts for female friends and relatives - and they also do a range of greetings cards and gift wrap, so you won't even need to go anywhere else. Like Amanda, I found the Korres sales staff to be really helpful, but equally happy to let you browse the extensive amount of makeup and other beauty products on offer. This shop always has a sale on too, giving you no excuse not to try a new lip gloss or body lotion. I prefer other brands to Korres, but it's definitely worth giving their products a try, especially when you can secure a bargain!

It is consistanly clean in this store and you will always find things in place, they also have a few special offers from time to time such as buy one get one free, or certain items down to £1, and the prices quite decent anyways, the staff are good and will help you as much as they can when you need any help. They also have a selection of purfumes behind the tills. It is extremley quiet in this store through the week and also weekends.

I am a huge fan of Aussie shampoo, and I thought I was getting a bargain when it was 2 for £6 in Sainsbury's. Then I discovered that it's £1.99 a bottle in Savers. They don't sell the heat protection spray that I like, but still, £1.99!! Savers is also one of the best places to buy hair dye. As well as having a huge range of colours, they also sell a lot more semi-permanent dyes than other stores. The brand named products are all so cheap that I feel like someone's going to stop me on the way out and demand that I give them the rest of the money. Savers also sells some unknown brands too, some of which are actually pretty good. The store itself could do with a quick clean, and it's often filled with..... well, to put it in the nicest way possible: they're not in there buying toothpaste, and I doubt they've ever bought washing powder there either, if you get my meaning. But do not be put off! This is not one of those shops you should be ashamed to shop in. There is no shame in getting fancy shampoo at half the price. It's still fancy shampoo and you get to buy more of it for less money. And that's what's most important.

If you take the dynamic between those two, that big brother/scabby, cheaper little brother dynamic and apply it to Boots, you'll find that Savers is the scabby, cheaper little brother. And, that's absolutely no bad thing. Really, not at all. With food products, you can taste the lowered quality in the food right from the off. Tesco brand isn't anything special, but it's a lot better than Spar brand. Savers doesn't have the luxury of making its own brand, so it dodges this bullet altogether. Instead, what it offers is premium brand hair, beauty and sanitary products for reduced prices. Sometimes as little as half what you'd pay in Boots or another similar store. Sadly, Savers has the image of a slightly grubby, cheap place. But what they save in expensive decorations, they pass onto the customers in terms of lowered prices. With everyone as skint as they have been recently, that's not something to turn your nose up at.

You can put in a prescription (via the box in the medical centre) a full two weeks in advance of when it is needed, and then find it is not ready, or incomplete, when you call to pick it up. Overall impression is of cramped premises, with staff who are seriously overworked.

It does however have a small selection of cosmetics including No7, a few The Sanctuary items and the usual smellies and toiletries. If you're after anything specific though its best kept in mind that they may not stock that particular item. However, if you are just after basic items its an ideal shop to quickly pop in. They also deal with prescriptions and have a wide range of medicines both behind the counter and the usual paracetomals, lemsips etc on the shelves.
