Savers is a good spot for a random assortment of items. They have housewares, clothes, shoes, jewelry and anything else you could want at reasonable prices. The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't a changing room but that's becoming more and more common. Overall a good spot to walk around and find a treasure. read more

For the only big company owned thrift store in New Bedford it's fine. Nothing really awful about it. The prices aren't bad and the selection is amazing especially with the books and cds going for around $3 each and pants being $8-12 which is way better than most of the thrift stores I've been to in MA. Only thing I can complain about is that sometimes the store feels too overwhelming especially in the racks. Do recommend if you are looking for clothes at a good price and cds for cheap. read more

It's a thrift store so there is only so much you can expect but at the very least they should keep the place clean. Sweep, mop and dust also wash the clothing before putting out on racks. Idk every-time I go in there I get sinus issue and just feel itchy. Managers take shirts and other clothes/items they know are expensive for their own to sell personally. Horrible pricing for things they get for free and rude employees that do nothing but make thrifting peacefully, hard for everyone. Lets just say, this Savers clothed me through 4 years of college. Cheap bargains galore!!! Tons of clothing in this large establishment to choose from. Color and size coded racks filling the entire store. Men's, women's, kid's, furniture, and other such necessities are in plenty here. Not only did this store clothe me for "real life" but for several themed party events, halloween, and theater productions. Looking for clothes to glow in the dark for a UV party? Find bright orange bathing suits and zebra prints here. Padme Amidala from Star Wars costume in need? White pants, Ugg boots, and toy guns are at your disposal. Need to costume 20 people for your theater groups next production? Find all your military, monster, wedding dress, and prop items here!!! I always come here to find jeans, shorts, tanks, dresses, etc before shopping for their overpriced counterparts at the malls and department stores. My daughter and I usually shop at the Warwick Savers, and so we were eager to try this New Bedford Savers. We were so pleased with the selection, store organization, friendliness, and quality that we spent over two hours there browsing and buying. We found terrific bargains and only need to return two items; that's okay, though, since we welcome an opportunity to go back! This is thrifting at its best. We had so much fun in knowing that we are recycling and helping the planet and also loving what we found. Brian and Dawn, store managers were extremely helpful and courteous when we had difficulties at check out relating to our Saver Points. Savers is a great store. The people are usually always great and you can usually find some really cool stuff. I've been coming to this savers since I was a kid, My nana would get all of our stuff from there. My nana told me last week she found a pair of minecraft pajamas she wanted to get for my brother but they were $14... $14 for used minecraft pajamas when you can get them brand new at Walmart for $5? I went in yesterday to look around for work clothes. They didn't have anything I was looking for but I did notice a price change. Almost every shirt I saw was $7 or more which doesn't seem expensive, But! Savers has always been CHEAP CHEAP so it's kind of odd to see the price difference. For the most part you can find name brand things really cheap (Compared to what it would normally cost). I just don't know how often I'll go now since the prices definitely have changed. read more

Terrific large thrift store with everything organized by size. Lots of name brands. Yes, prices are higher than they used to be, but that's true everywhere. If you know your brands, you can get great value. Staff is friendly and helpful. My only caveat is to examine items before you buy, as sometimes there are damages. That's largely on people who donate things that shouldn't be going into stores. Get great clothes, save money, try new styles at low risk, help the environment and support charity... doesn't get much better than that for your shopping! read more

Great place, clean .... employees are very nice! Prices a bit high. Only major complaint is that they save things for certain "antique sellers".... they put the items aside. Cant complain because the manager even does it. Maybe they should have a special showing for these antique resellers? This should not be, yet I've seen it over and over again. read more

My local 'to store' for everything. Store is very well organized, always neat and clean. I needed a lampshade and got just what I wanted, 9"spring form pan, got it! This place is okay I guess, if you really want to save money. They have some cute things but almost all the clothes there reminds me of like the early 2000s fashion and well... if your into that then this is the place for you! There is some sort of organization but mostly things are just everywhere. When you walk in there's this horrid smell that just hits you, it's this old sent? For Halloween this place is good to shop because things aren't used, from what I know, because it's all packaged. But since the store is called savers people do donate their cloths here which brings up something else that concerns me; where had the clothes been? The dressing room is a good size and has a huge mirror and the customer service is great. There's plus sized clothing, so the store isn't bias. - Overall the store is OK. read more

Savers is my happy place. It's like being a kid going on a treasure hunt. Every single person in the New Bedford savers is wonderful. The people shopping in the store are always kind and generally just the sweetest. When you buy a product there you are doing a small act for our planet. Reusing a garment or item that someone at one time loved but was done with it. You pick up something and wonder, where did they wear this gorgeous designer gown , smile and then you look at the price. It's a steal!!! I wouldn't call it a thrift shop, I went shopping for myself today and some shirts were around $5.99 but the majority of the shirts ranged around $8-$9. So needless to say I was kind of surprised, like a previous person stated it is more of a discount store. There were some good brands, but you really have to 'look' and by look, I mean "look". Make sure you have at least a few hours because it will take awhile to find stuff really worth it. The shoes were ok, some of them were almost $15 and the condition was not good, so I took a pass. Also today the promotion was 50% off anything with yellow and orange tags. I found absolutely NOTHING that I would even consider, that had a yellow and orange tag 95% of the store was green and blue tags. So again I was very much disappointed. I didn't hate the experience but it's not what I expected when described as a 'thrift shop'. I won't ever go out of my way to go back there, unless I'm extremely desperate, but staff was nice and helpful to end this on a positive note. read more

Note- savers really should be called "discount" store- even though people donate- it is a for profit entity- and they do co-opting fundraising with organizations. But prices are higher than @standard" thift shops. Clothing is well organized. read more

I used to have a problem. My problem was Savers shopping. I loved it. I would go here and spend hours roaming around the racks, spending money I didn't have. For those not in the know, savers is a thrift shopping megastore. But then Savers kinda ruined it for themselves when they raised their prices. I have found that now some of the prices are so high that I am better off getting a brand new shirt at another place because it's actually cheaper or a dollar or two more expensive. However, I do think it's worth it to come here for a couple of things though: Ugly Christmas sweaters, Khakis, board games (just make sure all the pieces are there), cookbooks. So even though I have kicked the Savers habit, there is still some value in it. read more

We have a Savers in plymouth which is OK but this one in NB is awesome. It is big, organized, and very busy. they have about 5 changing rooms, Th toy and game section is weak but the mens section was nice. they also have stamp 15 times and save 30% and othe sale days. check them out online 1st because if you register you bring in a code and save 25%. I dropped $55 and wished I had the code. read more

Love this Saver's. I'm from the west coast and it's called Value Village over there. The staff is wonderful and as a regular I have come to know a few of them and they always treat me with respect and I enjoy that considering good customer service is hard to come by. Ive always lived in walking distance to kings highway, so I've always gone to Savers if i want to find Vintage or cool rare clothes. (Its like hanging out in Lindsay Lohan's Closet). The only really good thing is the clothes section because everything, and i mean damn everything! is pretty much less than eight or seven bucks. Everything else though, like the toys, lamps, broken ash trays etc., is pretty much crap. I have become a thrift store connoisseur over the years. I will always have a soft spot for this Savers as it was my first legitimate foray into thirfting. Women's clothing is not really the best for my age range, but my mom often used to find really nice designer stuff with tags. Monday is dollar day by color, and it gets pretty hectic in there right at opening. Housewares are decent, sometimes accessories are gems but this would not be my first choice for an afternoon thrifting. read more

I went to Savers two days ago, I saw a love seat I wanted very much, I had the girl write up a slip, and put a sold tag on it. She than told me, That if I do not pick it up within 24 hrs. They would be able to sell it, and not give me the money back. I was hoping I could find someone with a truck to pick it up. I stood in line with the receipt she gave me and I was going to pay for it at that time, but my husband came in while I was in Line and I told him aqbout the store policy she described and he told me, no way, as we had to find someone to pick it up within that trime limit or lose our money. My son could only get there on a Thursday6 or Friday. I now have someone that was reasy to go get it, and now I am told it is sold, but still there, to call back tomorrow to see if they picked it up. What kind of store policy is that. I am extremely upset about this as I really wanted this loveseat. I am most disappointed about this store I have shopped in for many years. read more

I recently went to this Savers store with my 2 daughters ages 7 and 5. After shopping for about an hour I was ready to check out. Upon checking out we had a item (a small teddy bear) that the Price Tag seem to have fallen off. The cashier who also was the store manager Rose said that I would be unable to purchase the item due to no price tag. My 5 year-old daughter heard what the women said and began crying. She was so upset to point that see was almost hyperventilating. The store manager continued to state that there was no way that she could make a price and sell the item....How ridiculous does this sound...Items that are donated to the store that have 0 dollar value and would have sold for around 2-3 dollars normally the store manager allowed a customer to leave that upset over a 2 to dollar decision...Absolutely unacceptable. I would will never step foot in this store again and would suggest that others read this review and know what type of people are running this store..WHAT A JOKE!!! read more
